Excellent point! Bf didn’t have a dog but I looked at how he treated mine

Along those lines bfs parents are in love and still affectionate. I’ve seen bf mirror a lot of those behaviors with me and I took it as a green flag.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/11/20 02:58 PM
6

See “how are his family relationships” for current family dynamics. You evaluate the entire man not just one piece.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/11/20 02:56 PM
11

I added it from u/yourscreennamesucks I’d take it to look and see if he has health concerns and if he is actively managing them. If he has skin conditions does he take care of them? If he has a mental illness is he in therapy? Is he on or open to medications? Essentially how does he look after his own health

As stated in another comment I took the parent thing as something to analyze and asses. I had a previous NVM who came from a home with two loving parents. It’s another thing to consider and evaluate. An assessment point not necessarily a flag.

Good ones!! I’ll add them to the addendum :)

As stated it’s loosely the list I used to vet for boyfriend, it can obviously be modified to your comfort.

I looked at the parents as the first example of a romantic relationship displayed to a child. Good men certainly can come from bad backgrounds, it’s something to analyze and not necessarily a red flag. This is my list and how I vetted for my boyfriend.

If a man wants you he’ll drive to commitment. A man should ask to DTR in 8 weeks maximum. He’s not that into you. Dump him.

It’s a trait that’s indicative of HV behavior. One trait doesn’t equal HV you have to evaluate the whole man. If you look through my post history there are plenty of other things he’s done that are indicative of being HV.

Part of a job requirement for him is removal of his phone. His ability to communicate is outside of his control. Sometimes he’s able to communicate other times not. He’s a good man and I trust he stays in touch with me when he can. I don’t sweat it if I don’t hear from him. Think extremely remote location kind of job. The wording is no expectation when he’s at “this stuff” which is the stuff where communication is out of his hands. If there was a pattern of ignoring me with no justification sure…

Thank you. I appreciate that. It’s so much easier in a relationship like this one. I will say to all my single sisters on here I spent a year and a half single, went to therapy, and made a life I loved. I fell in love with myself first. I fixed my issues first. I lived a life I loved for me.

A HVM will absolutely take care of you when you’re sick 💞💕 Men are more likely to leave their spouses following sickness so pay attention to how he acts, look for green flags such as the above. I said it before on discord but good for you lady you deserve it queen 👑

Ugh my commiseration. I have a friend married to a prick as well but it’s very similar in he was her “dream” man. Some women are just so blind to red flags 🚩 I try to slip in FDS where appropriate.

It took me a year of counseling with six of those months being spent completely single. I’m in a relationship with what looks like a HVM and I followed FDS with him. Proof is in the pudding it works.

I’ve lost 10 lb after being convinced the scale only went up :) it’s weight from a relationship with a NVM and sure it’s almost 2 years post split but I’m finally doing something about it

Reminds me of a friends LVM who made fun of a mutual friend for tearing up at his own wedding bc he loved his bride 🤦‍♀️ Ofc the NVM is an alpha male /s

I got off all hormonal birth control at 22 after going through massive depressive streaks due to it. I am sexually active and we use natural cycles to prevent pregnancy. Can’t recommend it enough.

Absolutely the bar is so low it’s pitiful. My guy knows this is a base expectation not something he’ll receive lavish praise for from me but he still does a good job and I make sure he knows I appreciate it

Thank you!!! He spends time studying the bouquets before he buys them and picks out my favorite flowers if he sees them or will include things like a variegated plant.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/08/20 04:18 PM

No I don’t believe so. Even if he did it’s been 2 years, he married my neighbor, and blocked me on everything. I would gladly play $2k/year to keep him out of my life and my boyfriend would pay the money I lost if I tried to sue my ex. I guarantee it lol
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/08/20 04:17 PM
8

To make it even worse it was just spending money I’d send him bc he was unemployed 😅 Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate it. A huge part of why I am an advocate for FDS is bc I’ve been a pickme. I’ve dated NVM and abusive men. I’ve been single and OLD and questioned why men don’t want me. I leveled up, I sought help. I found a HVM. I feel like I’ve gone through all stages of FDS and am here to help other queens wherever they are on their journey.

Fortunately he matches up in other areas of the relationship :)

His mommy bangmaid 🤮 Thank you! I would say the biggest bright spot was me finding myself and my boundaries. Bf is a compliment to my life but by far the biggest win was falling in love with myself.

I was not. We were both fresh out of college. I think the money was worth getting rid if him and finding myself. Lol no he didn’t send me money or take me on dates, or cook, or clean. He was unemployed as a cashier.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/08/20 01:55 PM

Definitely do, I wasn’t expecting more flowers when the first bunch was fine 😂

People treat you how you let them. I take responsibility for my part in things. He even told me initially he “wasn’t looking for a relationship” while hooking up with me. I thought if I loved him enough, treated him amazing that he’d love me too. Obviously I was wrong. I learned a lot of painful lessons, went to therapy, found FDS. Dated with FDS as my guide and have a HVM who adores me. I’m not mad things worked out how they did bc it led me to find myself, my boundaries etc
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/08/20 01:05 PM

He’s an ex thankfully. He was an unemployed cashier who lived with me rent free. I was a tremendous pickme 🤡🤡🤡 these are from 2 years ago thankfully I leveled up and learned but it’s definitely a good lesson for the ladies here. He ended up breaking up with me and dating my childhood neighbor who he met at the gym on a membership I paid for.

Boyfriend speaks up against porn and think it both corrupts the mind and takes advantage of women. He doesn’t watch it or condone it for ethical/moral reasons and came to these conclusions well before I was in his life. They’re out there just very rare.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/08/20 02:50 AM
10

In every relationship I have had to question or dissect with my friends it has ultimately been a LVM. Current boyfriend I’ve never had to sit and analyze his behavior or his actions. He’s been so consistent.

I had both relationship qualities and man qualities. I sat down and wrote my dream list. Man qualities: career type of job, family oriented, responsible, clean, trustworthy, adventurous, animal lover, wants kids, hard working, emotionally mature, playful, dependable,in shape, respectful, ambitious, fiscally responsible, strong morals, financially generous -relationship qualities: fun, attentive, shows me off, plans dates, puts in effort, builds me up

My family openly criticized me and my dating strategy. My grandma would constantly say I was too picky and I’d die alone. My usual quip was better to die alone than miserable. Guess who absolutely adores my boyfriend? The proof is in the pudding. Single > LVM Keep your standards. I know how frustrating it is I got into a few blow up fights over dating with women in my family who were pressuring me to settle and I am so glad I didn’t listen or cave. I had a 15 point list on what I wanted in a man…

I’ve been sexually active for 10 years and it is just my most recent partner who cares enough to 1. Figure out how to make me cum and 2. Put the effort into doing it. I still catch myself apologizing that it “takes so long” and he says he has all the time in the world when it comes to that. Still trying to undo some societal conditioning and brain washing. I came twice with my ex of 2 years and never with my ex of 5 and neither of them saw anything wrong with that 🤦‍♀️ I was too young to know be…

It’s mine :) he knows I’m not thrilled with him being gone for a month and with his work he’ll have no access to cell service or communication. Given the closeness of our relationship and the fact he ran it by me first and I cleared it as ok I thought it was appropriate and respectful.

He did it early in our relationship and I told him how much I liked it. He knows I prefer farmers market flowers but has occasionally been unable to make the market so he’ll get me flowers from somewhere else. He’s never missed minus weeks he is completely unreachable for his job. I tell him thank you (genuinely), and have made comments on how flowers make me happy. I don’t think it’s asking too much a farmers market bouquet is $10 where I live. It’s a very small gesture he knows I like. I do ma…

He bought me a bouquet very early on and I commented on how much I liked it and appreciated it. Since then he’s done it every week and I make sure to say thank you and tell him I like it usually accompanied with a quick kiss. FDS led me to have a mindset shift toward accepting gifts from a man. I truly believe for a HVM your true appreciation of his effort is enough because he wants to make you happy. I hated this trope because it seems so powerless. The guy just has to be “smitten”. I thought if I loved the guy enough I could convince him to love me too. Spoiler: you can’t. Dating is hard. Your feelings are valid. When I was single I did everything in my power to build up a good support network and prioritized relationships outside of a romantic one. Focus on self care, make sure you’re filling up your own love cup. Also just because your friends are getting married it doesn’t mean they’re good marriages. Several of my friends are in subpar relationships at least being single you’re one step away from the right relationship (meet the guy) vs three (divorce/breakup,…

Lol I found tinder on my then boyfriends phone after we’d been together for 2 years. The scrote trash had the audacity to say I was overreacting and proceeded to gaslight me saying it was just a conversation and I was being crazy. Continued dating him for another year bc I was the biggest pickme clown 🤡

Oh that was playful banter to make asking deal breaker style questions seem less like a true interview. We actually discussed our biggest childhood trauma on our first date. FDS says not to disclose trauma mine was funny and light hearted and not truly traumatic however it got boyfriend to disclose some deeper things in his history which gave me an idea of who he was.

It was a year of dating after I had got my own head on straight. I was in two long term relationships one was a NVM (abusive) and the other was a LVM. I took a year off of dating after the last LVM and went to therapy, fixed myself, and focused on my own life. My sister was extremely FDS and encouraged me to not settle and to continue weeding through men. She would frequently remind me that it could be awhile before I found a HVM and that it’s worth the work. The short answer is a year of dating…

And that’s completely okay too! The best thing I ever did was create a life I adored without a man. Don’t heal yourself for a man, do it for you because you’re worth it. I’m sorry you’ve had to experience this and I know how bad it hurts. This community is wonderful and supportive. Welcome to FDS 💕

personally I like the PDF. To be abundantly clear I am absolutely 100% not trying to pin all the blame on you. I’ve dated manipulative scumbag POS. I know what it’s like. I’ve been there. Try to use this hurt and pain and total piece of junk of a man to propel yourself forward into the next stage of your life. It’s going to be tough but you are absolutely worth it and every woman here supports you.

I understand there’s a line between being proactive in your relationships and victim blaming. FDS takes a strong anti porn stance and is of the mind any man who engages in it is LVM. Along with BDSM being LV. You’re entitled to your own opinion but if you’re looking for dating advice from this forum you’ll get the input of women who believe in FDS. Based on the overarching beliefs of this sub and the information that you’ve given yes there were multiple red flags. All you can do is try to learn …

Other users have pointed it out but here’s some flags: -name calling -into porn -wanted to do BDSM -virtue signaling by complaining about other men -making a big show of open phone policy Based on the limited information we’re privy to outside the relationship it looks like there were some large red flags.

I agree with the previous queens 👸 he’s made you an offer out of convenience. A man who wants you will make it clear it’s a date to see you. Boyfriend drove 7 hours one way leaving at 4 am to see me for a third date.

I don’t know how helpful you’ll find this but when I was in a good headspace I’d analyze my past relationships and take note of the red flags and warning signs I missed. I am skeptical that he hid his true nature as perfectly as you say he did. Something that helped me immensely was realizing the red flags and signs I over looked. Insecure narcissist who married her extremely quickly and love bombed like crazy. Was telling her he loved her after a week 😅 If you know what to look for love bombing is easy to spot. There’s a tremendous difference in my relationship vs hers at the same timeline.

I know what love bombing looks like and unfortunately had to watch my best friend go through it. Her now husband likes to emotionally gaslight her and accuse her of cheating 🤮 I appreciate bringing it up because it definitely is something women need to be aware of. Based on everything I’ve seen with this man in the past 8 months he’s not love bombing but as stated previously one can never get complacent.

Absolutely. There’s a difference in a man prioritizing you and one who’s love bombing to manipulate. Based on everything I’ve seen this one is the former not the latter however I will never cease to vet a man regardless of how long we’ve been together.

Based on what I’ve learned from his siblings and close friends about his last relationship he is completely different in how he treats me vs how he treated his ex. A NVM/LVM will have issues with an intelligent woman but a HVM won’t. I’ve seen it repeated on here that all men have issues with an intelligent woman but my boyfriend is extremely proud of how smart I am and brags on me abundantly when appropriate. I found FDS when I was dipping my toes back into online dating after being with two NVM. 😂 unfortunately he doesn’t have any brothers They’re absolutely out there if you’re rigid on looking. When I was single seeing the HVM stuff here helped me solidify what I was looking for. He has talked openly about being excited to be a dad, if we get to that point down the road I’m positive he’d raise high value gentlemen so there’s hope.

Of course! It wasn’t easy finding him. I stuck to my very stringent standards and didn’t give in to family/friends who pressured me to settle. And this is coming off the tail of being quarantined together for 3 months. He’s a good man.

Ugh guys please check me. I offered to pick up a few domestic duties for my boyfriend (we’re quarantined together and he’s an essential worker) to save us on time but last night he told me to stop picking up everything for him. He was being nice and said he doesn’t want me to feel like I have to pick up all the domestic duties. It appears my inner mommy girlfriend is coming out please give me advice on keeping it in check 🤦‍♀️

It’s as simple as if he wants to he will. Current boyfriend: -cooks lunches/dinners majority of the time -picked up extra bills when my dog got sick -surprised me with small thoughtful gifts 1-2x a month on top of the weekly flowers he buys -supported several niche interests I have He’s not perfect but he’s been a good support system and has managed to still surprise me with things and put in effort. Don’t settle ladies.

So last night while talking to my guy he said he needs to put more focus on making sure I get off during sex. Completely unprompted and brought up by him. He has always been attentive to me so I was surprised when he brought it up and said he wanted to do better making sure the focus was on me.

I look at the quality of the relationships. One friend married years ago and has since gotten divorced from someone with severe mental health issues who dragged my friend through the wringer. Other friend is with someone who is emotionally abusive and constantly accuses her of cheating. I look at these relationships and know I’d rather be very very single.

My boyfriend said he loved me at 4 months. I knew he loved me before that because his actions screamed he was in love. Hell my grandma said he’s loved me from the first date 😂 I don’t think anything earlier than that is necessarily a red flag. Imo you have to evaluate the whole man. Bf has stable friendships, a good relationship with his family, and received enough interest from women it wasn’t desperation driven. As echoed here, men know. You don’t have to drag a man who knows.

6 months in with my current boyfriend and all it took to get weekly date nights was “I feel like we’re getting too casual, I’d like to maintain dating.” Things have changed with a global pandemic which he had no control over but he’s already mentioned places he’d like to take me when things open back up. I think it helps I have a HVM father who has told my boyfriend multiple times if you don’t date your wife someone else will. I expect to still be treated well and taken out no matter how long we…

You’re welcome sis! I came to these conclusions after weeding through a lot of trash. As far as bios go I didn’t put a list of what I wanted in a man. I wrote a bio that clearly articulated who I was. Just like with men I thought a list of “no hookups, no drugs etc” made it seem like I was attracting that. I think if you follow FDS you can weed through that stuff quickly without stating it in your bio. I put my graduate degree in a tough STEM field on it and didn’t try to hide the fact I’m intel…

I feel you on landlords and moving plus I think there’s something to be said for when the place is yours. Everyone wants to FIRE quickly and saving/budgeting isn’t the most sexy or easiest way there. I’ve still got the last bit of debt, then saving for a nice emergency fund, then finally investing. Aiming to have my first investment property in 2021. I don’t know much about shares/business investments but will definitely look into it once the debts are gone and a nice emergency fund is built.

I got so so so lucky when I found him and I’m aware of it. It was a lot of looking and stringently sticking to my standards and I am so glad I did. FDS works when followed. I am in a “worse” spot than him financially due to student debt but should be out of the hole this year. If/when we get married having him as my partner advances FIRE by several years. Yes! Interest rates are low for me. It’s a marathon not a sprint but I’m drooling at the idea of being debt free 😍. It was extra frustrating bc I can finally see the end, you know? Absolutely!!! A lot of the criteria is strict but like you stated it helped me weed through the massive amount of 💩 I’d rather X some sooner vs later because like you said there are so many time wasters. I had a pretty stringent set of criteria which comes from my experience on OLD along with my friends experiences. In this day and age everyone uses their phone, it takes a man <1 minute to send “I had a great time I want to see you again.” Every guy I’ve gone out with who was incapable of meeting this criteria ended up wasting my time or was looking for something casual. I would rather churn and burn through men to find high value ones than waste a second too long on a LVM hence the rigid criter…

Yes! I know the list of requirements for a man seem long and could be hypocritical if you aren’t of the same quality. I put a lot of focus into myself and leveling myself up. Basic things to do before online dating are: eat healthy, be in a good mental state (attend therapy if you have any lingering things to work through), be in good shape, and figure out your grooming routine. I understand initially the game is rigged so I cultivated an image that would present a certain way. We don’t get to p…

It’s tailor able to what you as an individual want. I like clear interest from the beginning my guy had a pretty serious family emergency come up when we’d first started talking and he still found the time to express clear interest and plan a date. I've been stressed because my dog is sick and it's impacting my budget which is ultimately effecting my long term goal of being debt free. I've been paying off debt at a very aggressive rate which leaves me little wiggle room for other things. The boyfriend knows I've been wanting a few items for my hobby (<$100) but it's still enough that coupled with the dog it's "outside" of my budget. I went through your post history as an outsider to try to find anything that I think would fit too and nothing really stuck out at me. The only thing I think it could maybe be is the fact you got out of a bad LTR 7 months ago and are now in a relationship with someone you say is a HVM and 7 months isn't long enough to determine if he's truly a HVM or just has HVM characteristics. It also indicates dating right after a bad relationship if I got the timing right. Idk. I'm pretty stumped. That's th…

Absolutely agree 100%. Current boyfriend locked me down ASAP with no hesitation and he brought it up, not me. There's a tremendous difference in how they treat me. One was a NVB (no value boy, calling him a man is an insult to HVM) and the other is a HVM.

After my last relationship with a LVM scum bucket ended I sat down and thought of everything I would like in a partner and made a list of all of the characteristics even ones that seemed like reach goals considering men now such as: clean, fiscally responsible, good with kids, caring etc and refused to settle. Nope. If he likes you enough he'll make the effort. My guy wanted to see me so put the time in planning things for us to do and asking me out. I've mentioned off hand things I like to do (rock climbing, mini golf, hiking) and he uses that to plan the dates we go on. I too was a 🤡 dated an unemployed cashier (yes you read that right) and financially supported him. Would send him money every month at the expense of not getting things for myself. So much cringe.

It sucks that these experiences are so common but hopefully we can educate others to help them avoid the black holes that are LVM.

Same girl. He couldn't post me because he went through a "bad breakup" with the girl before me and didn't want to go have to (potentially) go through deleting all of our pictures if we broke up. Fast forward to him improving himself enough to get someone else and he's posting pictures of her within a week of us breaking up saying how much he loves her and how beautiful she is. If he won't post pictures of you he's just not that into you.

Ah girl. At least you’ve learned from your past and are working on making better decisions moving forward. I think a lot of us on here have done cringey things in our past. You wouldn’t be where you are today without the experiences you’ve been through and what is important is that you learn from them which it sounds like you have 💞💕

Awwww sounds like you got a good one sis 😍🥰😊 The car door opening is so refreshing and I appreciate it so much. It’s not because I can’t do it, to me it’s entirely in the gesture.

Oh my gosh that is the cutest thing I’ve read 😭 a bridge tour sounds absolutely adorable. My boyfriend knows I like blender bottles and bought me a custom one with a quote from a TV show he’s never seen but has heard me quote. You’re absolutely right HVM like surprises especially thoughtful ones that let you know they’ve been paying attention.

Congrats sis! It sounds like you’re moving to a much healthier spot ❤️ your relationship with yourself sets the tone for your relationship with others. Self work can be hard but it’s always worth it. 💕

You can’t find the right guy for you if you are stuck hanging onto your ex. Exes are exes for a reason. If you need help knocking off the love goggles I’d suggest keeping a list of all the things you dislike about him, get your friends and family involved in making this list too. Anytime you want to put him on a pedestal revisit your list it helps to remember they’re just human. Block, delete, and allow yourself to move on sis 💞

Given that you told him about past trauma and he indicated he was okay taking it slow I wouldn’t be concerned yet. Unlike the pp I don’t think 6 weeks is fast to DTR my current boyfriend asked for exclusivity right at the 6 week mark like it suggests in the FDS handbook 🤷‍♀️

Ewww how gross 🤮 my boyfriend offered to meet me at my car on our first date bc the restaurant was in a bad area. I said no bc I didn’t know him well but the effort was there.

Gotta agree with the other poster. My boyfriend doesn’t even ask me to “chill” it’s pretty disrespectful imo

Personally I’m not receptive to being approached at the airport bc I’m a small woman traveling alone but to each their own.

Reminds me of my LVM ex who would get on tinder whenever we were separated and then get mad at me if I got upset bc it was “just conversations.” Dude was the lowest of the low LVM. You deserve better girl. Go get it 💞

I try to control what I can. Workout, eat well, dress nicely, and have a good skin routine. I get cold approached in places where it’s considered generally inappropriate (the gym, the airport) quite frequently so I’d say controlling what you can works.

Of course girl! Just wanted to make sure that you are considering yourself and your needs and not compromising on them. It can be a hard line to walk between "this is something worth fixing" and "I am compromising my boundaries/needs". I understand how upsetting it can be to consider ending a relationship and am sorry you had to go through that but am proud of you for having the backbone to end it if needed. I hope you are able to get what you want out of it whatever that may be <3

Girl. Why are you going out with him if this therapy session confirmed how you feel about him and his behavior has been making you cry off and on for days? It doesn't seem like he's worth your time or is a HVM. Cut him off girl you deserve better.

Keep your chin up <3 what you did was very brave. I'd suggest therapy if you have the financial means to afford it.

I was completely floored. None of my exes ever thought to get tested. bf scheduled it, let me know the date, and gave me the results. Annnnnnd went with me when I got my blood drawn for my STD test because I'm a baby.

Boyfriend went and got tested without me asking him to and provided the results :) HVM care about their sexual health just as much as HVW.

His beard grows way too fast and the stubble scratches my face if he hasn't shaved it that morning :( he does a good job of shaving daily because he knows it eats my face. Sometimes he takes the princess/entitled attitude my mother has and projects it onto me when I am nothing like that. He brings it up thoughtfully and in private but the fact that he thinks I might be like that can be frustrating. He wakes up way too early in the morning (4 am) and even though he uses his flashlight from hi…

I feel that in my soul. I was using tinder to mess with men (innocently) and take screenshots of their depravity for FSD and ended up stumbling on him by pure luck and stupid chance. I completely agree that as a generalization it's not worth it. I found trash both in person and online.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/02/20 08:50 PM

Not a bad idea :) I did find a good guy off of tinder but I had to wade through a ton of garbage to get to him.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/02/20 04:48 PM

You have so much more value than your looks to a man if you’re a HVW. My guy has reiterated several times that yes he thinks I’m super attractive but that he wanted to lock it down bc he’s enamored with my personality. Work on yourself first and the rest will come 🥰

I am cordial and will say hello if they speak to me but don't make an effort to engage in conversation beyond the bare minimum politeness. I don't see a reason to have long conversations with exes, personally.

He doesn't sound like a HVM . He splits the bills knowing you're a student, doesn't initiate, and can't make you happy physically. I'd dump him and move on.

I think that getting it out can be tremendously helpful but actually sending it can be detrimental. When I've done things like that in the past I've always ended up wishing I didn't send it. I'll write the letter of all the things I need to get off my chest and then burn it if it's paper.

I felt similar and stubmled on my guy on tinder. It's still super new and I'm wary but he's been HVM every step so far and it's been wonderful. I am still prepared for it to not work out (cynicism from past relationships) but so far it's been a lot of fun.

Hey sis. I've been through something similar. It's hard to let go of someone when they're gas lighting you and the good times are so good. One of the things I did that helped me to get over men that were inconsistently good to me was keep a list of all of the traits I disliked about the guy, all the times he hurt me. I would enlist the help of my family and friends to make this list too. Any time I would be nostalgic I would go back and read my list to remind myself that he wasn't perfect. I thi…

It is a big deal. You managed to let go of a loser you were stuck on for the last 2 years. Congratulations sis it's a big step. I would recommend counseling to work through the issues you will have around the relationship and why you accepted such treatment.

I won't lie to you I had absolutely no expectations and he has completely surprised me. In general I don't think it's the place to look for a HVM but they do exist.

I had really bad experiences with tinder and would come here to post some of the screenshots. Beginning of December I met someone off of there who meets the FDS criteria for a HVM. It's still really new and I am still watching and evaluating him but it's going ok so far. In general I think it is harder to find a HVM on apps like tinder but it can be done.
