It’s really weird that this comes up. I was literally just thinking about how someone said yet again to me “it’s a numbers game” in reference to OLD. But it’s not like searching for a needle in a haystack, which is exhausting, but not damaging.

It’s like searching for a needle in a toxic pile of garbage. I may find the needle, but at what cost? I have been assaulted, insulted, ghosted, stood up, pushed on sex, lied to my face, had a guy text another Hinge girl right in front of me, shamed for not wanting to date someone living with their ex 5 years on from the breakup, invited for coffee with no coffee bought, and so much more...and all of this rubs off on me. I get to thinking there is something wrong with me, to be treated this way, repeatedly.

And I VET (but not to the point of grilling! because I’ve been grilled on every possible shitty thing I might do or be, by women, and it sucks) - these guys give literally no indication that they might pull this nonsense. I don’t find out until after it happens. The only solution really, since they hide it so well, is just to assume it’s going to happen, because 7 out of 10 times they do something offensive.

And now it’s my fault again, because, you know, I shouldn’t assume something negative will happen, etc. etc. A man is entitled to protect his money from bad past experiences, but God forbid I protect my body and heart that I only get one of. Fuck everyone who hasn’t walked in my shoes and tries to tell me what’s what. I have a good 50 stories, and if I did a Powerpoint of every one of them, the group would walk out after #10.
