That does seem to be the consensus. I lean Left economically but Right socially. So what ever the inverse of a libertarian is, I probably am.

Questions can be posed about the behavior that lead to a given answer in relation to a definite problem, and those behaviors, as well as the conclusions reached by those behaviors, can be clearly distinguished as being either correct or incorrect. Haha. I couldn't help myself. But yes, that is why I laid out the legal argument. The moral argument breaks down at the fundamental moral relativism/absolutism question. At that point it's a matter of opinion.

Dammit. I had to bite. From a legal viewpoint, theft is the act of taking something from someone illegally. Necessarily one must ask the question of what constitutes legality.
