How would you even know that a guy who you might be interested is a virgin or not unless he tells you the truth?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 07:08 PM
1

How would you even know though unless you asked him directly and he was truthful? Unless you just suspected it somehow or he told you
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 03:42 PM
2

What’s that age?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 03:40 PM
5

Why is that a problem if you’re a virgin past 22? What if you just weren’t interested in pursuing?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 03:37 PM
1

So would that count as a red flag if he’s shy?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 03:36 PM
1

I don’t see how it is
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 04:16 AM

So dating feminists makes you a feminist? Don’t think that really holds up honestly
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 03:26 AM

How do men uphold feminism?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 03:17 AM
1

Well there’s a big problems with that, women today have fewer children and delay having children compared to women 100 years ago. The average woman in her early 20’s in the west today doesn’t have kids and when she does she’ll likely have less than 1. So why not draft them? Also, Germany population increased in part after the war due to immigration not just birth rate. I have no idea what you’re talking about with double tapping? You mean shoot fast? You don’t need to be strong to do that. The a…

Because men are always going to be the one asking someone on a date? Also, when I go out with friends we ALWAYS split the check. Being an adult is paying your own way no matter if you’re a man or a woman. You shouldn’t pay for someone else
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 02:51 AM
2

Why should the man have to pay for the date when the woman makes just as much or more than him?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 02:36 AM
1

My post wasn’t even that long bro
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 11:47 PM
3

There’s literally women in the comments of this post saying women shouldn’t be drafted, so uh, maybe have a look at that.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 08:55 PM
3

You must live under a rock if you haven’t heard any women say this ever
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 08:48 PM
2

So you’re ok with only men having the potential to be drafted. Do you think women are incapable of serving in the military? Do you think Ukraine should draft women into the army? Yes, I see it all the time in real life
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 06:29 PM
2

If the draft hasn’t existed for 50 years why did I have to register for it? Are you aware of something that I’m not? Are you responding to the wrong post here? I didn’t mention abortion in my post
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 06:11 PM
1

Well it sounds like you’re disagreeing with me because you come from a different culture and society. If you lived in America you would probably agree with me
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:55 PM
3

No, it should be merit based. But having scholarships only for certain genders is discriminatory
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:54 PM
1

I disagree. Scholarships should always be available to everyone regardless of gender
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:45 PM
3

Women and men aren’t separate species. Both women and men should try to care about and improve men’s and women’s problems. If the patriarchy exists, it currently only exists to benefit women and hurt men. Women already have the same rights as men, why is feminism still needed? Bad people will exist no matter what ideologies are out there. Feminism isn’t going to do change women’s nature or get rid of all abusers
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:42 PM
2

So you’re ok with women being drafted?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:17 PM
4

So you’re admitting that feminism is hypocritical, not about equality, not interested in helping men and just completely disregards the interests and well being of men? If that’s the case why would anyone promote such an ideology?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:12 PM
3

So making scholarships only available to women is ok?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:10 PM
3

Yes, although women serve for 1 less year and generally don’t serve in combat roles in the IDF
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:09 PM
11

The marine corps studied this and found mixed gender infantry units were less combat effective, so I wouldn’t just want to throw women in the trenches for the sake of equality - unless things were really desperate
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:08 PM
3

That’s not consensual because men don’t consent to that
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:06 PM
2

feminism ideas are whatever I, and only I say they are
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:05 PM

You understand why giving women the right to vote would diminish men’s power right? How do you not see that? And for the record women only got the right to vote less than 100 years after most men did. In the 18th century only a small minority of men could even vote in the U.S. and U.K. The idea that men always had these rights is hilariously wrong. And men are also expected to make sacrifices by being the primary breadwinner
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:05 PM
2

So it sounds like you’re admitting that sometimes it’s ok for women to not leave men alone then. Why are you trying to force men to change on your behalf? Why are you forcing them not to look at women in the gym?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 02:59 PM
1

But there are tons of roles in the military that don’t involve being a frontline infantry soldier or loading heavy shells into cannons. The military needs cooks, supply delivery drivers, medics, intelligence officers, drone pilots, etc etc. Are you saying women cannot do these jobs as effectively as men? And if they can do these jobs as effectively as men then why not draft women into the support roles to free up more men to be infantry? That’s exactly what the IDF does
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 02:53 PM
8

Except you can’t have the “benefits” of the “patriarchy” while being sworn to destroy it. That’s completely hypocritical and invalidates their entire world view
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 01:55 PM
9

This article from January said drafting women wasn’t part of the new conscription legislation Female conscription not part of Ukraine's new draft law -parliament member https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/female-conscription-not-part-ukraines-new-draft-law-parliament-member-2024-01-08/
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 01:53 PM
2

Well we still need a draft. It would only be used in a worst case scenario but we need to prepare for that. It goes to my point that women want all the benefits of feminism and sexual liberation right up until they don’t. I’ve seen a bunch of videos online of women in the late 20’s and early 30’s wondering why it’s so hard to find a guy to settle down with when they spent their whole 20’s doing the exact opposite of settling down
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 01:49 PM
14

Huh? Are you saying women are as unable to fight in a war as men are unable to give birth? You know that almost a million Soviet women served in WWII right? How could this be possible? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_women_in_World_War_II
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 05:46 AM
17

Of course you can’t draft the whole population but there are plenty of young Ukrainian women who don’t have children who aren’t working in war essential industries who would be great candidates to be conscripted wouldn’t you agree?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 05:36 AM
3

Isn’t that what the whole point of feminism was? To shame men into doing better at a cost to men but would benefit women? And it worked. And it went way too far and there needs to be a correction. Men typically just want someone attractive and supportive who shares some common interests. Women typically want much more than that in a relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 05:34 AM
31

Do you need to be physically strong to fly a drone? Or be an intelligence officer? Or drive a truck with supplies to the front line? Or be a cook? Or repair damaged equipment? Point is there’s a ton of non-combat roles that women could easily be filling. They could even fill some combat roles like pilots and snipers. In WWII, Ukrainian women did exactly this in the Soviet army.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 05:27 AM
3

Mmmm ok
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 05:04 AM
5

So how do you explain the powerful women that have existed in history before feminism? Queen Elizabeth I. Catherine the great. Boudica. Cleopatra. Joan of arc. Livia. Mary queen of Scots. Etc etc. Are these just crazy exception or maybe is the “patriarchy” not a real thing? Men don’t live in a vacuum. We live in a society. Made of family structures. And women are part of those families and assist in forming society and always have regardless if they were directly in power or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:57 AM
4

If women just wanted to leave men they didn’t like alone, why, for example, are there so many videos online of women in the gym trying to catch “creeps” looking at them? Why are women advocating for women to be given STEM scholarships at the expense of men? Why are women advocating that women receive preferential treatment in divorces court?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:50 AM
2

What male dominated patriarchy? Is there some cabal of men making all the decisions for us? What machine? This sounds like a conspiracy theory
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:41 AM
5

How could most men become above average? That simply mathematically doesn’t make sense. So you’re essentially saying that average men have worth then
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:35 AM
1

Yes, I think I’ll find a girlfriend by not interacting with women, huh? If you want to get a girlfriend and you’re not in the top 5% of dudes for online dating, then you have to put yourself out there or else it’s just not going to happen right? Would you disagree with this?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:34 AM
1

Are you saying I’m a simp?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:32 AM
-6

Online doesn’t mirror real life, and it never has
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:31 AM
10

That’s so nebulous it’s meaningless. The root cause of the gender problems is that the patriarchal standards have been completely removed for women but completely held in place for men. Would you disagree?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:30 AM
-6

That’s only true in online dating. If you’re meeting women in real life it’s not like that
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:27 AM
2

When did I say that in my post? I think women should be more accepting of men’s emotions. How do you get this to happen? I don’t know, maybe more public awareness campaigns about men’s mental health. Having more high profile men talk openly about it. Incorporating discussing men’s mental health in addition to women’s mental health in school. Women should be more willing to split the check and make the first move. I don’t know how you’d change this. Having more men just decide to only split the c…

Yes, both men and women should be more empathetic to men. This phenomenon is the same thing with the people don’t want to admit to being racists. Women don’t want to admit that they don’t respect their partner if he earns less so they’ll say things like “he couldn’t handle the fact that I earned more” to deflect from the real reason. Maybe some of them are really being honest but I think most aren’t because you won’t see women admitting to losing respect for men for earning less
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:14 AM

Well it’s not a discovery to you but a lot of feminists on this sub seems to think this isn’t the case
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:08 AM
1

It’s not as easy as just saying there are one category of women who are bad and one that are good, only look at the good ones. Well how do you know until you’ve really gotten to know a woman? And also, reality is much more complex than this, woman can hold these views to greater or lesser degrees
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:07 AM
1

What is the real root cause?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 04:04 AM

This isn’t exactly what I was talking about but this study showed that women are less likely to want to help men who cry vs women who cry. This is also true of men too. https://www.researchgate.net/journal/Motivation-and-Emotion-1573-6644/publication/332738576_The_gender-specific_impact_of_emotional_tears/links/5fbee436299bf104cf7a130d/The-gender-specific-impact-of-emotional-tears.pdf?_tp=eyJjb250ZXh0Ijp7ImZpcnN0UGFnZSI6InB1YmxpY2F0aW9uIiwicGFnZSI6InB1YmxpY2F0aW9uRG93bmxvYWQiLCJwcmV2aW91c1BhZ2Ui…

Having a happier, more emotionally available and less stressed husband wouldn’t benefit women?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:49 AM

I’m not planning to go to any countries right now, but if I was I’d consider the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden or Norway. But my plan is to meet someone in the U.S. since that would make everything a whole lot easier

Can you explain why they’re strawmen?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:47 AM
1

You really think the average man listens to Andrew Tate and his like? You’re way overestimating how common that is. And by the way, pretty much all of the modern man’s issues with dating can be directly attributed to online dating. Remove that alone and you’ve fixed most of the issues for men
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:46 AM
4

Ok, so then what? There must be a ton of women who sleep with men who aren’t worth sleeping with? Or maybe you’re just wrong…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:44 AM
1

I’ve heard there are studies that have shown that women lose respect for their man when he cries. I can try to find that. Well forced conscription is currently happening in Ukraine and Israel. I’m just asking why women want to get girls into STEM instead of say, being a lumber jack? It’s the phenomenon where people don’t want to admit to something negative in a survey. For example, it’s really hard to get someone to openly admit they’re a racist on a survey even if they are. Women might enter in…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:43 AM
2

That’s how it’s always worked in the past and that’s how it’ll work today. Women’s standards online are dramatically higher than women’s standards in real life.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:36 AM
4

Having healthier, happier men in society would benefit women. Having better husbands, fathers, losing less men to suicide, all these sorts of things would be benefits of allowing men to more openly express themselves and have less pressure for the need to provide.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:36 AM

Maybe I will. My friend got a German girlfriend and they seem really happy.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:31 AM

Well the kind of women I’ve been around I wouldn’t say are particularly conservative or progressive- just kind of average. And I think most women are like that

From a thread about moving to Sweden You only have three ways of moving here. Be in a relationship with a Swede. Get a work permit, difficult outside of specific high skilled fields. Study at the masters level. A good way to live here temporarily, but will need to achieve (1) or (2) to stay long term So not that easy. Plus I’ll be in grad school in the U.S. for the next few years so can’t really move until I’m not with that
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:27 AM
6

Proof or are you just making that up? And it’s funny that average men need to be successful in dating to get laid but to be successful in dating you need to have experience and have had to have been laid. That doesn’t make sense. Your idea that average men are worthless to women simply doesn’t add up.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:25 AM
7

It benefits them not to because then they don’t have to risk embarrassment of getting rejected. Men preferring it should change the culture because it means there’s no reason for women not to. What I define as a “traditional marriage” is just a marriage where the men is the primary breadwinner. They want a man who can fill that role, a man who is successful, good looking, tall, etc. If women are allowed to do all the same jobs in the military as men, why shouldn’t they be able to be drafted? We …
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:23 AM

Most of the time I’ve heard that said by women who had their old time partner finally open up emotionally and she gave the cold shoulder. Dismantling the draft is unrealistic. A war might happen so we need to be prepared to mobilize in case of that. Well that’s a nice sentiment but again, not realistic. I think this is one of those examples of where women say one thing but expect another. Women say they’d want to split the check but they’d like to be with a man who pays. I’m saying this is what …
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:19 AM

Men overthink what it takes to be worthy of a partner. If you’re social enough, you’ll meet someone compatible eventually. It doesn’t matter how “average” you are. Online dating has skewed people’s perceptions of the minimum needed to get laid
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:15 AM

Why is divorce necessarily bad? It just means the marriage didn’t work out. And why is divorce “upholding” the patriarchy? Should we ban divorce?

Rectangles and squares - all Scandinavia countries are in Northern Europe but not all Northern European countries are Scandinavia - I’d also add the Netherlands and Europe to the continental “northern Europe” list

No woman has ever directly asked me out. Just a lot of hints. I don’t get it, if you like me and want to go out just say it.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:09 AM
2

Well it’s hard to immigrate and all my family and friends are here. At an individual level yes, that’s a better solution but I thought we like to talk about larger things on this sub?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:07 AM
-1

It’s implied that I’m talking about Americans to Americans, or at the very least talking about Anglo culture more generally. Are you Scandinavian? If you’re also American or from the U.K. then you prove my point
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:06 AM
7

I’m going to need evidence for most women want to split the check, because that hasn’t been my experience And 2, there’s nothing stopping women from making the first move. In fact, men prefer it. Women chose not to because why would they? It benefits them to not do it
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:04 AM
8

Minority of women? So you’re saying, for example, that most women DO make the first move in setting up a date and most women DO split the check on dates?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:00 AM
5

It doesn’t make them better, it makes them in higher demand. And the idea that men have to be perfect to even have a chance of attracting an average woman is ridiculous
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 02:58 AM

Ur welcome :)
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 02:55 AM
17

You said “the average man isn’t worth sleeping with.” Close to average or below would probably constitute between 50-65% of the population. But only 3% are virgins like you said. How do you explain that?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 02:55 AM

Sure, I just don’t find it compelling and it seems kind of desperate to brag about how happy you are idk.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 02:51 AM
25

So you’re saying that 50-65% of all men aren’t worth sleeping with? That seems pretty harsh. Typically, most people end up getting laid and having a marriage. How do you explain that? What makes average women so much better than average men? Is not the average woman also bland?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 02:49 AM

Weird post. “Look at me, I’m awesome, I’m so cool, I’m the best!” People who are secure about themselves don’t make these kind of posts anonymously online…

I don’t have kids but even if you do there’s no way you don’t have time to workout everyday 30 minutes a day. I know several people I work with that have multiple kids and they all work out regularly and stay in shape

Nope. Skinny men get plenty of attention from women
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 08:09 PM

Lol, least desirable body type? Women want men who aren’t obese or overweight. Is that hard to understand? That’s the least desirable body type

Because they’re lazy. Simple as really
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 08:07 PM

Well, it would help the dating market for men if there was greater supply no?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 07:17 PM

What if men don’t want to date overweight women?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 07:13 PM

Yes, we should only ever keep cultural norms the same and never push back against them. Ugh, I hate this attitude. Also, there’s plenty of women who would agree with going dutch in the US.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 06:12 PM

I agree. I think financial compatibility is a huge part of what makes relationships work but it isn’t sexy so no one talks about.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 06:11 PM

Well, that’s not how it works in Europe. In Netherlands and Germany and Scandinavia dates are usually 50-50
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 06:05 PM
4

What’s stopping them from using their words and asking for marriage or proposing? And if that doesn’t work why don’t they try to marry conservative men? It seems like you want all the benefits of a “traditional conservative” relationship but aren’t interested in conservative men
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 04:48 PM

There’s a big difference between crushing pussy every weekend and having no issues getting a girlfriend. Would Larry David be getting tons of matches on tinder today? No absolutely not. He’s still funny enough to where getting girlfriend wouldn’t be an issue. Just go to any bar and he’d be batting out of his league for sure. I’ve seen it happen in real life
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/24 09:58 PM
1

Larry David isn’t a sex symbol I agree, but he never had a problem getting a hot girlfriend even before he was rich. Being funny means you’re charismatic and personable to some degree and that matters lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/24 08:56 PM

Except funny dudes pull hot girls all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/24 07:51 PM

Even if 90% of the men you matched with weren’t worth dating, out of 200 matches that’s still 20 good potential dates. If you dated each of them every other week that’s almost a years worth of dates. I understand it might be a little time consuming to sort through them but it doesn’t seem hard. And going back to approaching in person, why would a woman want that vs picking 20 of the best out of 200 guys from across the city? Why would they want to be approached by some average looking dude?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/24 06:35 AM
2

But it gives them hundreds of options to choose from. Wouldn’t that be great? If I had hundreds of women to choose to date just from swiping my phone for 20 minutes I’d think it’d be working pretty well for me
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/24 05:13 AM
4

First off, I do go to social venues and I haven’t cold approached. A girl whose idea of a good time is slamming beer or wine at the bar every weekend or who wants to do acid at a music festival is not living a lifestyle I’m interested in. A girl reading a book in the park is living a lifestyle I’m more interested in. See how that works?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/24 01:16 AM
2

Except if they’re 50 guys to choose from, then 49/50 aren’t being chosen. What do they do now? 80% of men struggle to get any matches at all in a month - much less a date
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/24 01:04 AM
4

It’s because on dating apps you can’t really see someone’s personality, humor, intellect, etc. You’re only judging people based on looks and money. The standards go out the window in real life because the standards aren’t realistic
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/24 01:00 AM

Nice. I’ve definitely had those kind of interactions before but they’ve never lead to a date. Guess I should ask for a number if a random conversation goes well

That’s a good idea. What’s a singles night like? Like what do you do?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/24 12:40 AM

Well it worked for you but it hasn’t worked for me and the vast majority of dudes I know either

Women don’t even approach men they find attractive either
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/24 12:18 AM

I think it’s a bit ridiculous that you’re reading the most nefarious intentions into chatting with someone at the park. And again, the same “this might be an inconvenience to her,” or “she might not like talking to me” also applies in a bar or a club or a stadium too. Someone still has the make the first move at the club and maybe she just isn’t interested, and just wants to spend time with her girlfriends. How is being rejected in a club better than being rejected in a park? It’s not, it’s no d…

I mean, a normal man wouldn’t approach a women if she has the meanest resting bitch face in the world, and they wouldn’t keep talking to a woman if she gives you the “go to hell stare” after asking a question. But you can never know exactly how someone will react in every situation. And if we did then there’d be no point to any of this right?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/24 12:07 AM
5

I can understand that. I appreciate positive attention from women likewise. I guess I’m just overthinking it trying to be normal/not intrusive and just waiting for something to happen. But it’s not going to happen unless I do something. A woman isn’t going to come up to me and tell me I’m hot. And even if one did I wouldn’t trust her
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 11:59 PM

Damn, all my friends are men who are only friends with men
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 11:49 PM

Who said anything about women running errands? Is it appropriate to approach a woman reading a book in the park? How about a woman sun bathing on the beach? Or a woman sipping a coffee at a cafe? And how is it “preying” to say “hey how’s it going? What book are you reading?” Well I do like sports - sports games are typically sausage Fests and I know cause I’ve been to a lot. The vast majority of social activities in the U.S. seem to revolve around drinking or drugs, so finding a social venue whe…

So what are people doing instead? Is dating declining or are people meeting for in real life?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 11:38 PM

Thanks for the compliment bro! I think I’m interesting, athletic, funny, smart, I can talk about a huge range of topics, sports, politics, etc whatever. You don’t know me, but I guess I should leave approaching women to the experts like you, clearly the most interesting man in the world…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 11:36 PM
5

It just feels wrong to do it idk. Like of course you would know that I’m only talking to you because I would think you’re hot, not because I’m actually interested in the book you have or where you got your shoes or whatever right? And knowing that why would you want to talk to me? And knowing all of that why would I talk to you in the first place?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 11:33 PM
3

I’m interested to hear how that encounter went at the grocery store. Did your BF come up and say “whats your favorite type of Wheat Thins?” in the snack aisle. Idk, just trying to get an idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 11:30 PM
-3

Except if you only try to approach in “social venues” then you’re limiting your options severely. And concerts and bars are expensive and attract a type of crowd that is into booze and drugs - so what if that’s not your thing? And even in a social venue a woman might not want to be approached right? I’m not sure if you’ve been to a lot of sports games but I have and the few women who are there are almost always there with their boyfriends or having a girls day out with a huge group.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 11:28 PM

Well I’m tall at 6 3. I think my face is pretty average but not much I can do to change that lol. I’d say I’m introverted not shy. I have no problem meeting new people I just don’t like putting myself out there to do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 11:22 PM

Dating apps don’t work for most men either though
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 10:38 PM

I go outside all the time. What’s your point?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 10:21 PM

So if you’re in your late 20’s - then it’s all over? Damn
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 10:20 PM

That’s also probably true
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 10:15 PM

I mean that’d be nice but I honestly don’t know how much that will help. I’ve lived in places like DC, Chicago and London and it wasn’t like it made it easier to approach, but more potential chances
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 10:12 PM

Women will inherently think you don’t have great intentions if you’re approaching a random woman and complimenting her on her clothes or hair or whatever right?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 10:10 PM
4

Women don’t want to be approached by some stranger in a park
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 10:07 PM

Yeah, that’s my point
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 10:07 PM
4

Theres nowhere to even approach
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 09:53 PM

Why would women be driven off the apps? I agree most people say they prefer to meet in person. I fundamentally disagree that women want to be approached though
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 09:47 PM

80% of women have had sex by the age of 20. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/products/databriefs/db366.htm#:~:text=By%20age%2015%2C%2021%25%20of,had%20ever%20had%20sexual%20intercourse. so you’re talking about less than 20% of the population here. I think it’s funny how little agency you give women. I’ve had girlfriends who were into porn but according to you it’s because they were BRAINWASHED! lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 02:16 AM
10

lol, you have no evidence
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 02:14 AM
8

Ah, yes. Women don’t have free will then? They don’t ever choose to read or watch porn on their own accord? This is a joke post. I don’t know why you’re so bitter. You probably lost a boyfriend and blame it on porn. How about this, try 👏 to 👏 work 👏 on 👏 yourself 👏
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 02:13 AM

Ah, the no true Scotsman argument
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 02:11 AM

That article doesn’t really say that temporary cognitive decline means that men cannot interact positively with women they find attractive though. It also means that the more time you spend around an attractive woman, the less impaired you’ll be. All this indicates to me is that it’s easy to try to date women you already know and have spent time together with vs cold approaches.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/24 09:01 PM
1

The idea of “you don’t know how to talk to women” is a bit ridiculous. What does that even mean? You think men are just bumbling and stuttering and can’t make eye contact with women?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/24 02:57 PM
1

If that was the case then why is this thread filled with dudes saying how hard it is to date?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/24 01:20 PM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/24 12:09 AM
2

Because those dates aren’t leading to long term relationships
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 10:57 PM
37

Same. As a 6’3” guy making 80k, the effort needed is superhuman just to get your foot in the door. It’s not worth it
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 10:54 PM
1

Why are men the ones who need to reduce your standards? And what do any of the things you mention have anything to do with that?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 10:50 PM
0

That’s not what statistics say… If you’re not a man it’s hard for you to imagine how hard it is out there
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 10:49 PM
10

It’s not about “being able to talk to women.” It’s about the ability to easily get a date, which for most men is impossible. Men are lucky to find two women to date in a single year
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 09:56 PM

Why not try both?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 09:25 PM

Oh ok, so I guess your anecdotal evidence is better than the observing overall trends in dating and that trend is clear that women don’t want to date down
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 09:11 PM

Real women are typically more tactful about sharing these preferences
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 06:29 PM

Is being monogamous really that oppressive?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 06:26 PM

4 basic photos is all you need if you’re hot. Try it out if you don’t believe me
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 06:25 PM

That’s not what I’m talking about - it’s having an open mind when you meet a new person and getting to know them before forming an opinion and deciding to date them
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 06:21 PM

It’s because men’s issues are routinely dismissed and downplayed
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 06:20 PM

Sometimes I find a woman not attractive at first glance but then as I get to know them they become more attractive. Sometimes the opposite happens too
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:28 PM

Free how? Free to be anxious and miserable?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:19 PM

It sounds incredibly privileged to say dating is hard when you have absolutely no problem finding dates
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:15 PM

What’s your proof?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:13 PM

Because women refuse to date men who make less than them
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:12 PM

Except if these standards are pervasive in society than it becomes a societal level problem
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:12 PM

Of course it’s not easier. But it’s better in the long run.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:10 PM

If women want to be paid as much as men then they need to drop the standard that men make more than them
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:05 PM

Capitalism has been a thing for the past 200 years…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:04 PM

That’s just a fallacy though. The idea that there’s always something better around the corner is false
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:59 PM

“They don’t owe us anything,” yet men are expected to owe women everything. Huge double standard. How is this off putting to women? This is merely an opinion I voice on a sub meant for this. I’m not saying any of this IRL. You’re making a lot of assumptions about me
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:57 PM

It’s not possible to exit the market and find another though
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:55 PM

Where’s your proof that most men don’t want a health cooperative relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:39 PM

The other option is actually try to change society. Call out toxic dating culture. Feminists have been doing this for decades and they’ve been successful. Why can’t we as men try the same?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:31 PM

How do you know if someone is really special if you don’t give anyone a chance except for the “hottest guys?”
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:27 PM

That’s a ridiculous argument. Women are the ones who don’t date men you make less. ‘Women are doing’ yeah, women asked for wage equality and diversity hiring programs and now are surprised that they make more than most men and now refuse to date them. You’re the problem here
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:27 PM

How is your personality supposed to come through on dating apps? It doesn’t. And women are increasingly less willing to meet men in real life vs dating apps
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:19 PM

How does it make sense for them to want to be paid as much or more than men but only want to date men that make more money than them?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:18 PM

Genetic research? Like you’re talking pre-Neolithic revolution? I don’t honestly care what happened then it doesn’t matter. I’m talking about how marriage worked in organized society
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:17 PM

How do you flirt and carry a conversation if women won’t match with you on a dating app and are increasingly less willing to meet men in real life?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:16 PM

It becomes a systemic issue with this is happening at a large scale and affecting entire groups of people, which it is
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:13 PM

But that’s not a solution. Men are still competing to be in the top 20, 10 percent or whatever. The vast majority of men won’t make it there
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:07 PM

That’s not actually what I’m talking about. The bad boy is still probably very attractive so my point still stands
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:06 PM

A relationship inherently has responsibilities. A fling or friends with benefits doesn’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 02:55 PM

You’re over thinking it. The bottom line is that women want men who are attractive and make more money than them. This shrinks the dating pool because their standards have become so high
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 02:52 PM

That’s simply not true. In the past, marriages were arranged. There was no “attraction” as part of it. And basically everyone got married.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 01:19 PM

But finding the right man means they’re less stressed than being single right - all else being equal. Also, I don’t understand why dating would be so stressful. It’s more stressful trying to date and being unable to vs going on a boring or unsuccessful date
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 06:00 AM

Lol, I don’t gossip about my co-workers dating lives at work
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:59 AM

What’s your point? I talk to idk probably 5-10 daily
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:52 AM

Yes young men are struggling with dating because women have unreasonable standards
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:51 AM

Yeah, we have the lowest poverty rate, lowest cost of living (except housing), highest rates of education, best employment outcomes for women ever etc etc. What’s wrong? That there’s a war in Ukraine? That the orange man might win? That housing is too expensive? Well guess what, splitting those housing costs with a boyfriend would help a lot
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:48 AM

Then why are they so depressed and anxious?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:32 AM

We can make sleeping around and hook-up culture less normalized and long term relationships more aspired to. How many pictures of a happy committed couple are there in the media vs media that celebrates hook up culture?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:31 AM

I think it’s hilarious that you compare average men to morbidly obese women. What about average men is so unattractive? I’m struggling to figure it out
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:23 AM

It literally is in your control. If you’ve internalized the idea that average men are boring, unattractive and worthless, then why don’t you challenge those ideas and see if they’re actually true? In terms of women, I think average women are plenty attractive. I don’t know why it’s so hard for women to say the same. Feels unequal
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:19 AM

If you don’t think you’re the best then why do you think you deserve the top .1% of men? Why are only they attractive to you?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:13 AM

That’s a way different kind of delusional.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:11 AM

No, it tells me that women’s standards are the thing that’s messed up
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:10 AM

If your attractive standards are that high then that’s way out of portion and that’s exactly the problem I’m describing. Why is it so impossible to possibly be attracted to someone average?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:09 AM

Except they are unhappy. Have you seen recent statistics around anxiety, depression, loneliness etc for women? It’s all up big time.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:07 AM

So what do the 50-80% women end up as?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:06 AM

Just writing off a 1/3 of men is crazy. Where do you think those men will end up? Nowhere good. What’s one of the biggest forces for societal instability - young unmarried men. I disagree that this is just a force of nature we can’t change. We can change societal pressures, expectations, norms, etc etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:03 AM

Most women do eventually end up marrying though. They do leave the house and find a man. They’re never 100% off the market
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:59 AM

That literally isn’t possible unless they’re polygamy. Otherwise, where are the rest of the women? Your point is simply illogical
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:54 AM

Tell me how Videos getting 100s of thousands of likes on social media are worse evidence than talking to a couple people IRL?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:50 AM

My evidence of that is that rates of loneliness and depression and anxiety are higher today than 20-30 years ago among BOTH genders. AND, men are less likely to be in relationships and to be sexually actively than 20-30 years ago. Those are both facts. Feel free to call that a logical fallacy though
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:50 AM

Online dating is rising. The majority of relationships begin with online dating
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:48 AM

That’s not the same thing. Likely to not have children doesn’t mean they don’t want children period. The likely reason for not wanting children is because they can’t find the right man, or the economy or housing costs etc. Not because they’re against the idea of having children
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:47 AM

That’s because dating apps has made this behavior less problematic for them personally. Why would a young woman or a young hot man need to learn how to be social if they can download an app and get hundreds of matches with 0 effort? Then the women just go for the hottest guys because why not?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:45 AM

I don’t see how this is supposed to prove that women want to be single
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:43 AM

What do they actually want then?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:42 AM

Ok, so it sounds like you’re agreeing with me that the idea of “don’t settle until you find someone perfect” is real and out there and that this is screwing up the dating market
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:41 AM

I’m not saying it was perfect in the past. I’m saying it’s worse now. Because men have fewer options now because women think they deserve the top .5% of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:40 AM

I’m not talking 30-64. And women often report being in a relationship when it’s actually friends with benefits. And women who are choosing to be single are doing it not because they want to be single but because they’ve given up on dating
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:37 AM

All I can say is look at dating apps. Look who’s getting all the swipes, and look who isn’t getting any. It’s fairly obvious that a good portion of women in their 20’s has these standards. Don’t believe me? Create a tinder profile using an average man’s picture. And I’m not talking about a 7 ~ average but an actual 5 average man. See how many swipes you get and come back to me
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:36 AM

It’s literally impossible to find a tik tok liked by 150 million American women lol. But when there’s a preponderance of evidence of women in the 20’s, creating, sharing and liking the same videos, that’s a pattern. I dispute the idea that women are happy to be single forever. Most women want kids. Most women want a husband. Most women would rather be in a loving relationship than single. If they’re single because they really believe there’s no good men out there then they’re wrong
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:34 AM

Most men and most women want long term relationships and want children. You can’t hand wave that away
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:29 AM

That’s good to hear but the ideas that circulate on social media and society in general do have a real impact. Even if it’s less than they say
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:28 AM

Your math doesn’t check out. If women 35-50 are getting men above 50, what are the women 50-65 getting?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:26 AM

That’s a societal level problem then. Why don’t women find average men attractive? Is it because society pushes the idea that a man has to be rich, tall, famous and hot to have any worth? If that’s the case then we should change that idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:25 AM

You’re not supposed to? Says who? The idea that women can’t / don’t want to do anything but hook up in their 20’s is a bit ridiculous
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:23 AM

No, the problem is modern dating apps. Women’s lib has been around since the 60’s but it wasn’t a problem because people still had to meet in person and meeting that way evens the playing field. Nowadays, women can easily find a guy on tinder who’s attractive, rich and tall and just try to date him. The problem is he doesn’t want to commit because he has plenty of options. Also, how can you claim to be red pill and a feminist? That flair doesn’t make sense
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:21 AM

Ok, let’s focus on the present then. Would you object to the idea that trying to date as a man in their 20’s is good now or bad?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:18 AM

Shrinks your dating pool is an understatement to say the least. What percentage of men under 30 are over 6 feet, making over 6 figures and are at least a little attractive? Less than 1% - way less. If you’d only be happy with a man like that then those aren’t standards - that’s delusion.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:16 AM

Women like men, want relationships. Most humans do. If the only thing stopping women from pursuing relationships is the idea that being with an average man is “settling,” then that’s the problem I’m getting at with my post
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:14 AM

So what’s you’re saying is if you didn’t date in high school or college and get engaged with that girlfriend you basically missed the bus? And also, the majority of relationships now start from online dating - not in person
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:12 AM

The vast majority of women are on the internet in the U.S., and I’d go as far to say as almost all women under 30 use social media to some extent so I’m pretty comfortable in saying this is representative. But do you not see how having unreasonable expectations would essentially ruin the dating market?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:09 AM

So what’s your evidence that women don’t have high standards? That average men in their late 30’s and 40’s have wives? How is that supposed to help men in their 20’s?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:06 AM

I think more women think like that than you think. Just look at women’s behavior on dating apps. Just because things have generally worked out in the past doesn’t mean things will continue to work out
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:01 AM

They’re not going to change their ways until they’re at least 30. Until then dating in your 20’s is going to continue to be a hellscape
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:59 AM

When I see a tik tok with 300k likes from a woman saying “where are all the men” and and the comments are “yes sis, where?!” It’s not just rage bait interviews. There’s more to it than that. Do you dispute that women’s standards aren’t actually that high?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 03:57 AM
6

It’s literally illegal to pay women less than men. If you’re being discriminated you can sue
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/24 07:03 AM

You won’t be able to detect generated ai photos at all soon enough. It’s already kind of possible now
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 07:47 AM
2

That’s not what my post is about…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 05:59 AM
2

They do but they’re not nearly as power or as easy to use as AI is/will be
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 05:24 AM
0

Because you can customize photos to however you like. And the people in those photos can be more attractive versions of you. And these photos will be so lifelike it will be indistinguishable from real life photos
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 05:15 AM
-1

I think the semi attractive ones will do touch ups at first, but this will lead to an ever increasing arms race where photos readily get more and more detached from reality
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 05:14 AM
1

Not nearly as easily and as well as AI allows you to.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 05:04 AM
-2

I think you’re missing the point here. If a 2 is photoshopping themself to be a 10, then yeah that’s obvious. If a 6 is photoshopping themself to be a 8, that’s not going to be immediately obvious in real life. Women already generally look better in pictures in dating apps than real life so why shouldn’t men do this too? In fact most women say that men in real life generally look better than in photos. If the system of dating apps is rigged against you, what incentive is there NOT to lie? Like I…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 05:02 AM
0

Yeah, you can pretend to be a male model who looks nothing like you but if you’re just photoshopping yourself to be hotter, it’s not going to be as immediately obvious when you’re meeting IRL. That’s the incentive it gives to use it. Men can make themselves get matches way easier without completely compromising their ability to meet IRL
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 04:53 AM
-3

The better results are that their match rate go increase from 0-1 per week to significantly more than that. It’s about getting your foot in the door. If you’re a 7 and you photoshop yourself to be a 8 or 9, it’s not going to be that obvious in real life. It’s all about getting the foot in the door. These men have 0 shot of meeting women through online dating anyways so why not risk bringing the whole thing down? It’s my belief that meeting dates IRL would be healthier and better for everyone

Yeah but the amount of realistic catfish profiles will be overwhelming and make it impossible to actually find someone who is real. Honestly isn’t working for 80% of men so they were start photo-shopping the shit out of their profiles. That will lead to an arms race so to speak until everyone is completely unauthentic

That’s an oversimplification of things. It’s a little weird to see women say they’re the victim based on how a Greek Christian society operated in the 8th century or whatever but when men say that currently men are demonized they get mocked.

It’s easy for you to say it’s ‘real’ if it’s working for you so far. But if it doesn’t work for most people then it is a fantasy for most. It’s also not true that you can easily find your ‘soul-mate.’ Cycling your lots of boyfriends until you find the right one can work for women but doesn’t work for men because it’s so much more difficult for men to even get dates in the first place. So what you’re describing is a strategy for women. Men will need to settle here because they can’t just date hun…

/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 07:51 AM

that’s stereotyping. If I said women are shallow and lazy, you’d call me a misogynist. But when women say this about men, it’s ok somehow?

How do you know being set up won’t work if you never tried it? Just have lots of romantic partners before you get married is easy for a woman to say when it’s easy for them to have lots of relationships. With men is much harder yet they’re still expected to do so? That doesn’t seem possible. Finding someone compatible is just a myth. You can workout generally how compatible you are with someone in just the first few hours. You don’t need years of dating to work that out. That’s just waffling. I …

It’d be nice if housing costs and wages were better but that’s just not case. Relationships are a way to correct this but most people don’t think of about relationships in this way, which is a shame because it would be helpful

Love is just a concept. The point is to support each other

So it doesn’t work for working people who are actually trying to settle down and find a long term partner? That’s the most important part?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 04:29 AM

What if relationships had to do with pay and housing? Here’s my hypothesis, let me know what you think. Real wages have stagnated for the last 40 years or so. What has also happened for the past 40 years? Women have increasingly entered the workforce. With a greater supply of labor, businesses can afford to pay less per employee. Also, now that more people are living on their own, the demand for housing has increased. So people are living by themselves instead of with a spouse. So you have a sit…

/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 04:21 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 04:15 AM

Because stability and security are inherently good? I’m not saying that you should be in a relationship with someone you can’t stand, don’t like and aren’t sexually attracted to. Just that if criteria for a relationship wasn’t solely around love, then people would be more happy
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 04:12 AM

The economic stuff is there. Have you ever seen a divorce before? The whole thing is about money.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 04:10 AM

That makes sense, but what determines if a woman is sexually attracted to a man? Is it purely physician appearance or the relationship they have with the man?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 04:07 AM
2

What if that’s not what men want?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 04:04 AM

Healthy relationships don’t have dead bedrooms. Basing relationships around romance is more likely to not be healthy. It’s as simple as that
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 04:03 AM
4

I’m not sure if you’ve ever read a marriage document before, but it literally is a contract. Always has been. People today like to pretend that it’s not, but it still is. People have always and will continue to marry about economic reasons. That’s why women don’t date down economically. Why is it so hard to admit that?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 04:01 AM
1

You say romantic love works but then go on about how it doesn’t? I’m confused. Romantic love never worked and it’s especially not working now with the advent of dating apps. What incentive do women have to go out and meet men in real life when they can instantly get 100 matches on their phone in an hour?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 03:58 AM
2

So? Who says you need immediate sexual attraction for a successful relationship? Many relationships start off with the woman not being attracted to a man until she gets to know him
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 03:55 AM

What exactly do women do that men can’t do themselves? Why don’t we all just live completely isolated lives?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 03:52 AM

We don’t live in the animal kingdom. We’re not animals. Why is this hard for you to understand? If you really think things are better in the animal kingdom you’re a deluded sociopath. When a male lion kills the leader of a pack and then kills all of his children, you think that’s good? You think that should happen with humans? Really?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 03:49 AM

I am, but I find causation likely. Do you have anything else that you believe is actually causing this?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 03:47 AM

If love was deep and long lasting then why do marriages based on love fall apart? What do you do if you love someone but they don’t share your values about money, time, etc etc. Then what?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 03:46 AM
-5

Why does the women need to be head over heels attracted to a man for their to be a healthy sex life? There’s plenty of real relationships that exist currently where there is a healthy sex life despite the people not being crazy infatuated with each other
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 03:40 AM
-1

If people didn’t base their relationships around love - which can be fickle, then yes. I’m not saying people should only marry people who they don’t love or desire at all. Simply that if they marry people who they desire and love somewhat, it’ll be easier to maintain that and build upon that over time given than other things in the relationship will be more stable
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:22 AM
8

You don’t know. If everyone knew then the divorce rate wouldn’t be 50%
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:17 AM

Men are already doing that. Have you been on r/deadbedrooms ? The reason it’s often men posting this is because it’s often women who have unrealistic standards. Answer me this, is it easier for women or men to get a date? Can women or men afford to be pickier? Is dating for difficult for everyone today than it was 25-75 years ago?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:16 AM
2

Like and respect is far secondary to desire for romantic love.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:12 AM
1

Look, if romantic love was the panacea you think it is, everyone would be happy with the way dating works and marriages go. That simply isn’t the case. I’m not saying we bring back arranged marriages for everyone or whatever. All I’m saying is that there’s a lot of people who need to drop toxic high expectations
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:11 AM
0

Most people want to have a family, or at least a partner. But if people aren’t willing to settle, then this isn’t possible
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:09 AM
5

Anecdotal evidence. Ok. I’m not saying things won’t work for you, or romantic marriages can never work. Simply that statistically speaking, they don’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:07 AM
-1

No, I’m not. Love marriages usually don’t work. That’s why I blame them. And the ones that do last often morph into more platonic type love over time. Again, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t have any emotional connection to someone you marry, simply that prioritizing that over everything else is not a good thing
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:06 AM
1

That might be what they say they want, but is that really ideal? Rates of depression and loneliness for women are high, if they say being single makes them happy then why aren’t they?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:04 AM
7

Because love is fleeting. How often have you seen a couple that starts dating and they’re all over each other for the first few weeks or months and then after that they can’t stand each other? Happens all the time. If you’re always searching for the perfect person who you truly love, then you’re always be looking over your shoulder thinking about if maybe someone else is more perfect than your current partner
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:02 AM
-2

What does it matter if people are more ‘complex, actualized and free’ if there’s more depressed and lonely than ever before? People are simple. Most people have the desire for a nice family and stable and improving economic status. There’s no idea to overthink that, and when people do overthink it they lose track of the simple things
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:00 AM
10

That is already happening today. There are many stories of people who get divorced when the husband loses his job. My in my ideal relationships, people would just be more upfront about what they want from their partner. If everyone is actually honest with each other, then it wouldn’t be a blindside hit when someone who you thought loved you divorced you when you lost your job. And ideally, relationships wouldn’t be based entirely on one thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:57 AM
-1

What do you mean by love? And yes, if people are willing to ditch their partners in a heartbeat, those relationships aren’t strong
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:52 AM

Women’s rates of depression are higher than men, it’s not just a ‘man’ problem. It’s all of our responsibility to stop peddling BS fantasies to people that just make everyone less happy. Also, why is a burden on women to not look for romantic love? It hasn’t worked out. Is it time to say that women who believe in romantic love have unrealistic expectations?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:50 AM
1

But these decisions have societal implications. If everyone believes in an illusion, this makes dating harder and everyone being unhappy has negative societal consequences
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:47 AM
-2

Most people are wrong. You’re taking about it as if I just learned and I had previously thought otherwise. What if that was an expectation going into the marriage? There are different kinds of love. Just because someone isn’t the love of your life doesn’t mean you can’t love them at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:45 AM
-1

Life for both men and women was super tough until the last 100 years. Most people couldn’t support themselves completely on their own without a family structure.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:43 AM
-4

I’m not saying we should get rid of divorce and get rid of marrying someone of your own accord, but that people are unhappier now in their marriages and dating lives that they ever have been.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:37 AM
3

I don’t understand this. How do you know when you 100% love him? How do you know if that love will last? Wouldn’t everything in your life be easier if you were married to someone who you didn’t 100% love but they were totally agreeable and helped provide economically? Why would that be such a bad thing?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:36 AM
0

And it didn’t work for women?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:34 AM
4

But when you look at the results, it’s objectively worse no?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:33 AM
4

Depression and loneliness is not due to smartphones and social media. It has been going up since before then. Women wouldn’t choose to have children unless they’re in stable relationships with plenty of support. It’s not getting pregnant that’s the problem, it’s raising the child. And children raised by single mothers have objectively bad outcomes
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:33 AM

You’ve just proved my point. Because you believe that romantic love has to exist, you’re willing to instantly ditch your partner instead of trying to work through a problem. This makes relationships shallower and more difficult to maintain
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:31 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:30 AM

Most people have been duped into thinking romantic relationships are achievable for everyone and are easily maintained. It’s simply not possible. If i married someone and we laid out our expectations clearly before we got married, and if the way we economically support each other was part of that, then I don’t see a problem. There are other kinds of love beyond romantic love. Marriage is fundamentally a contract. Both sides should provide something to the other. I don’t see what’s so bad about t…

Sexual socialism? That’s a new one. Also, it’s failed to even provide what it says it does. 50% of marriages end in divorce. People are lonely and depressed. I’m not seeing the love. I’m seeing a lot of empty hook-ups and shallow relationships
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:23 AM
9

If women and men were better off single then why are rates of depression and loneliness so high? And then the birth rate falls and the economy stagnates. That’s not good either. Also, wouldn’t life just be easier if you had someone you could split chores with? Split cooking meals with? Split the rent with? I get that you could do this with roommates but typically roommates move on after a few years and you can’t plan your financial future with a roommate.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:21 AM
19

I think you may have missed my point. I’m not saying you shouldn’t love someone or want to be loved. Simply that love shouldn’t be the foremost guiding principle in finding a partner. Love is often fleeting. About 50% of marriages end in divorce. What keeps relationships going isn’t love, it’s other factors that make people compatible.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:19 AM
1

That’s such a stupid argument. We don’t live in the animal kingdom - we’re humans. We live in civilization. For 1000s of years marriages were arranged, men didn’t have to compete with 1000s of men just to get one date. Now they do and it’s unnatural and unhealthy. Now birth rates and plummeting, and loneliness and depression are at all time highs, but somehow it’s all men’s fault. somehow men today are much worse than men 100 years ago? Not true.

From an evolutionary prospective it isn’t virginity vs having sex - it’s whether or not you actually procreate and have a child. A man who has sex 1,000 times and has no children is a genetic failure. A man who has sex once and has one child who reaches adulthood is a success. But society looks down upon having children out of wedlock, as it should, so the whole thing is a moot point.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 11:13 PM

I’m not saying any of this is rational or that they are waging war to get a women. Simply that the fact that they don’t have a wife increases propensity of violence
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 08:03 PM

Things can go from 0 to 100 very very quick. Look at the conflicts in the Middle East. Most basic needs were generally met in Syria and Libya before the civil wars. People in the west think we’re immune to what happens in other parts of the world - I think due to a combination of soft racism/ignorance/naivety. If there is a political crisis or an economic crisis, the number of unmarried men increases the likelihood that a civil war could take place. It doesn’t guarantee anything. It’s just a fac…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 07:44 PM

How are circumstances so completely different?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 07:30 PM

Yes men competed against each other to get married to higher class/more attractive women. But most men were essentially locked into a caste system. The nobility married other nobility. Peasants married peasants. Royals married royals. People definitely did move up within this system but when a man became more successful he usually wouldn’t divorce his wife and marry a new one but he would arrange a marriage between his son and a higher class women than he was when he was born
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 07:22 PM

This isn’t a threat or a prediction. It’s simply a historical trend. Also, I don’t know what you’re actually trying to say here. All I’m trying to say is that the idea that if men have to ruthlessly compete against each other to get a wife, the history says this often led to violence. Look at the first program of the new deal during the Great Depression. It was the CCC. What did that do? It gave jobs to unemployed, unmarried young men. Why that group? Because they represented the biggest potenti…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 07:16 PM

Yes but what I’m trying to say is that in most of recorded history, women couldn’t afford to be picky if they could even pick at all - assuming their marriage wasn’t fully arranged. And the reason I talk about marriage is because in most of history people didn’t date. They just married.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 07:12 PM

You didn’t even need to not be hideous. If you earned your keep as a man in a pre-industrial society women would be lining up to marry you because economic conditions were so harsh. People were just one bad harvest away from starving and modern people find that really really hard to comprehend
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 07:09 PM

No, it hasn’t been the case. Previously, marriages throughout history were usually arranged. The concept of free love is very very new. Marriages were arranged not for love but for economic necessity. You needed to get married ASAP to start having children fast so they could start helping with the farm quickly Even in the beginning of the Industrial Revolution when marriages weren’t directly arranged the economic necessity of marriage was such that there wasn’t much competing. You just found a s…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 07:05 PM

Look at 19th century China. Due to rampant female infanticide, there was a huge gender imbalance where men had to compete for women. Did this lead to good outcomes? No, it led to some of the most brutal civil wars in human history. You know one of the biggest factors in societal instability is the percentage of unemployed, unmarried men under 30.
