You are correct but consider scenarios where one cannot demonstrate status like that. In work for example, a short guy despite being a alpha in both conduct and thought, may still communicate, based on the perception of his height; that he is not management material, and may miss out on promotions. A short guy will have hoops to jump through that are not as clear cut as just demonstrating alpha conduct, just because the perception has been made.
