Aggression was initiated when she verbally threatened him (and we're supposed to always believe women), and physically threatened him. The first is communicating a threat, which is a crime in most states; the second is assault, which is a crime in every state. He was absolutely justified to use appropriate force to stop the threat; that he used the bare minimum by holding her clenched first is testimony to his restraint.

Don't be afraid to get the police involved. Don't be afraid to just leave if that's what it takes to keep you safe. If you can afford to, seek counseling. You probably won't find it at the local domestic abuse center, but ask anyway.

Tl; dr version: Some women make foolish choices about debt, then exchange sex/escorting for money to pay off the debt. The author is offended by consenting adults engaging in voluntary exchanges that impact nobody else.
