No it isn't. But they're ruining their own lives too. Sympathy on fucking 0 for them as mentioned in my other reply.

Oh, I completely agree. And in no way am I granting them sympathy or giving them an out. I just find it amusing that men literally don't see how they're fucking themselves over. There is no educating men about it, it's too ingrained into society. That's why we don't enable this behaviour by dating pornsick losers 💅

So ok. I have a uni lecturer who is an abolitionist feminist and I was always like ????? Don't get it sis but you're a radical so that's fine. For those not familiar, abolitionists argue that the patriarchy harms men as much as it does women. I agree to an extent and in some contexts. This would be a context in which I agree with her. This man has developed such a dependence on porn that he's literally sent himself broke and ruined his life. He had a wife, a real woman to have real sex with, and …

Came here to say this. What the fuck. I can only imagine if this were me and he told me off for financial issues over face wash, I'd laugh in his face after learning this.

The men who say this tell on themselves. They're abusive and don't know it or are abusive and trying to justify their behaviour. People I know who've deployed to the most dangerous warzones never ever make this comparison. I have been in a situation like yours and it's left me more emotionally crippled than anything I've experienced during my time in the military has.

Ok hey hey hi from a soldier and ex-wedding planner. I just want to address some scrote logic here because I am done with people downplaying other's trauma by comparing it to "bullets in a warzone". We have the support of our unit and the camaraderie of our friends while deployed, not to mention we signed up for it and are well trained to deal with it. It's always scrotes who've never served sprouting this bullshit. SECONDLY. Wedding cakes have skewers in them to keep them together. They are hea…

I've raised this a few times where I work, even to my boss, and mostly on behalf of other people who I see it happening to. My boss straight up said "yes, I imagine single people do have things to do which are equally as important"... Um?! Another time I had a colleague crack it over certain duties which are inherent to our job. His rationale was "I have a missus and a dog, I'm not like all these single-ys, I can't just drop everything for this!" I straight up told him that as a single person, I…

I'm over it. Another thing single women get used for is labour of all kinds as if you have nothing else you'd rather be doing than serving others. Take time off for yourself? You're free, you can just mind my dogs for the week. Oh, you don't want to? Fucking bitch, no wonder you're single and no one likes you 🙄 Think you'll have time to relax and unwind after work? Wrong. It's on you to come back in for an emergency because everyone else is in a LTR or marriage and has more important things to d…

I've dealt with enough shit from men over the years to know that going into work feeling that crushing, stinging feeling and having to work through it isn't worth it. I've lived with a man who made coming home a chore. Sure, I'd like to be in love, but I'm also very happy knowing that someone isn't ruining my peace of mind and the things I've built by myself.

Ahahaha I dealt with a dude like this during my basic training. All the girls saw through him in the end. Basically what everyone else is saying: ignore him and don't engage with him one-on-one if you can help it. If you can't avoid being in a situation where you're stuck in conversation with him and he says something that you're uncomfortable with then call him the fuck out by simply stating that you're not interested in where the conversation is going. If he presses you, physically move away a…

Evolutionary psychology/physiology has been debunked. Racists love to use this too. Anyone who subscribes to this way of thinking is clutching at straws to be seen as smart when they are in fact, parroting back information they do not understand. It's been debunked.

My worst nightmare. I was engaged to a man who couldn't save and would do the same shit this scrote would do: cry every time he was confronted about his savings and spending habits. He asked me to take out loans for him, called me controlling when I said anything and refused to budget. I had to help him pay for everything. I broke up with him because I fell out of love with him as a result of all of this. Despite multiple discussions, he was "blindsided" about my decision to end our engagement. …

This poor bastard fails to realize that if this poor girl stays with him, he's just single handedly killed their flirty bath tub moments for good. I can feel how she would have felt... That awful stinging feeling of feeling unattractive and not cared for. It immediately brings a tear to your eye and breaks your heart a little bit. There's a new one that I like called "Two Idiot Girls". I came across it after one of the creator's Tik Toks was posted on this sub. They only have two episodes out but they're good to go. The second one was about how they overcame internalized misogyny.

Oh I love that block/delete button and I have no holds barred for my use of it. Causing me hell at work? Blocked. Use it to start arguments with me? Blocked. I don't need people disturbing my own peace on my phone. I'm just tired of people having that access to me all the time and having people I barely know adding me because we met once and they want to grow their friends list.

I had a big Facebook account which I deleted in 2019 which I replaced with a smaller one. I did the same and had the same number of friends. Not one of them messaged me either and when people would see me around after the fact, they'd be like "why did you delete me" like ok no - you clearly don't pay attention to me closely enough to know that's not the case; we're not close enough that you have my number to ask; and why do you suddenly care after several months? Miss me with that pointlessly ma…

I knew a girl who saved her Tinder app in a busy folder on her phone on the second page. It looked totally innocuous at first, but the more you thought about it, the more sinister it felt that she had the app hidden there. Like, it's your phone, do what you want. But I never would have thought to put an app where she had.

Yeah, I've never thought of that. But I can't stand that about Facebook. I had a small friends list but I'd still get hit up by people I'd met once or never spoke to or who were friends of friends. I don't need to be collected, thanks. My social media has gone from being a place where I can share things freely with my family and friends to a place where I'm like "what will people think about my opinions on X? Should I share this?"

For real. There was this dude who I was seeing very briefly who paid for sex. It came out in a drinking game we were playing with games. I never looked at him the same again. Never saw his ex's decisions as valid either. He moved across the country and got mad and accused her of cheating on him like no, you were together for YEARS and then you just decided she'd be ok to follow you. Ugh.

Well, two things on this - 1. Fuck being treated like a doormat, I don't need to waste my mental health and time making people happy, especially not for superficial/temporary things. 2. I'm in the military. Can you imagine how life would be for me if my reputation were the reverse? Every now and again we get some new soldiers come into the unit who try it on and they learn pretty quickly that they don't have the charm they think they do. I did, I have a diploma in industrial design. This girl wanted to sand the table back which would have ruined the varnish entirely... I managed to get it off by wiping it lightly with acetone (just FYI if this ever happens to you)

Thanks for the advice, it's a really good perspective on how to deal with them. It's funny, I'm not a touchy-feely person but whenever she'd put her arm on me or something I'd just recoil. Everything felt fake and forced. I even wondered for a hot second if I had a problem, but I definitely don't. She tried to tell me that her nailpolish bottle condensated... Like... Ikr!! I could just see her switch when she saw that the conversation wasn't going to go her way. I've been here before many times. I've only lived with her for two months so there's no love lost. I love this. And every word is true - we live in a society that advocates for "good vibes only" so the second we call out someone who's manipulative or mean, it's our fault for "lacking empathy". The older I get, the more I realise that my empathy needs to be a finite resource. There are nice people and then there are good people. Good people are rarely nice and won't lose sleep over putting someone in their place if it's needed. I'm in the military and I see people put others in danger constant…

God, probably - but you raised a really good point. I actually don't know who the ex is and the ex could be the baby mama. And thanks, it won't be for much longer!!

I don't think baby mama is the ex he's hung up on, but you're absolutely right. I don't know what the situation is and you could be right. Sadly, I didn't get a say in this because I have literally been flat out at work all day. I just came home to this nonsense. She doesn't give a fuck about this woman. And she doesn't give a fuck if this woman busts down my door. She doesn't care that I'm exhausted. Anyway, she and shouse boy don't know it yet, but they'll be waking up at 4am with me tomorrow …

I agree with absolutely everything you've written. I lived alone for a while and can afford it but I thought having the extra cash would be nice. It's not hahahaha my peace of mind is worth so much more than saving dollars on rent. So I won't be replacing her once she's gone.

I'm in the military. The sexism is rife, so I know it's never directed towards me. I have friends who will straight out tell these men that they need to get a grip or they'll be single forever. I personally just go the FDS approach and don't engage/grey rock/block where I'm able to if the behaviour gets out of line. Obviously there's no clear cut HR in the military, but sexism isn't tolerated. I can report it, but at the sake of my reputation, so things would need to be very bad for me to do so.

So let me break down some societal misogyny that's brought us to this point and maybe the male lurkers can just read and try and make sense of their own logic: We get called whores and gold diggers and are told that we need to make our own money, get hobbies so we're not so clingy and stop sleeping around otherwise "kings" won't want us. Then when we do these things and refuse to settle, we are too high maintenance. Huh? Like we can't win. On the other hand - if we do what liberal feminists and …

I've dated a lawyer, a pilot, uni students, men who would outrank me at work if we were in the same unit (I'm in the army), and a few others who look impressive on paper. But that's just it. They only look impressive on paper. Without empathy and other HVM traits they're just another dude.

I've read through a lot of these comments and I'm starting to identify where men have done this to me and why. But it doesn't matter. If they consider dating me (or anyone for that matter) "too much effort"... If they think they can half-ghost me to create a stupid power dynamic by making me the more committed party... If they're generally not interested or think that by being myself I am in love with them... Then I don't care. I will wait for someone to show me that they care for me first befor…

LVM flock to Hinge. The marketing for Hinge primes women to think it's for relationships and men use this to their advantage. Their thinking is that women will put out more easily if they think the dude they've met also wants a relationship.

I have a friend who was shocked her engagement ring cost her fiancé $10k and I told her no, they are supposed to equate to 3 months salary traditionally. In her situation, this checks out. With this person's income, $25k is three months salary. I'm also wild at the idea that he emphasizes that they both agree they want to be "free of worldly aspects" or however the fuck he describes it and then he goes on to mention her income??? Make it make sense, homeboy.

I'm so glad to see more women in this sub embracing this. I made a couple of posts on this and a few people disagreed at the time. I quit because it felt tacky. I live in a small town and people could easily see that I was on there. I felt cheaper for being on it. It also got me into some nasty cycles with men: meet, date, get attached, get nexted, sit on the app and find a replacement. Dating apps are for broken people looking for a cheap, quick rebound and I know this because I was one.

Agreed. I had a few queens question a few posts I made because they rightfully pointed out that they're the same men no matter where we meet them. BUT. I have found since I've stopped using OLD, the context in which men approach me is a huge instant tell which you might not get on dating apps. I'll take a recent example - Mr. Beautiful. I was engaged to a man at 21 and ended it just before I was 24. If we'd married, I'd be broke and still working as a waitress. This is a hugely valuable lesson for young women - being alone is preferable than being with someone who brings you down. OP - I now see my own mother after finding FDS in a new light. She carried our home for years and made huge sacrifices for us kids. She worked and studied from home while we were kids to support us. She wasn't perfect but she did her best. Thanks for …

Amen. Educating young women about relationships should be something that is taught in schools. Domestic and home violence is historically a gendered issue (no shit to everyone on this sub) but it's something that I did not learn until my university studies. Women need to be empowered to make choices in regards to who they date and taught signs of grooming so that they can appropriately analyse the relationships they chose to participate in. Like you, I was in an age gap relationship when I was 2…

I saw your post on this and saved it. I have so much coming up at work and at uni I will have to wait to watch it now but aside from being on this sub and a survivor of abuse, I also study criminology. So it's piqued my interest on a lot of levels.

I love to see it. When I studied Industrial Design almost a decade ago, I was one of 4 women in a class of 40. I remember myself and my best friend coming to class only to LITERALLY have our outfits commented on by this one dickhead who was in our course with us. He would even go so far as to comment on our Facebook photos and one day I'd had enough and I wrote back to him on a comment he made on my friend's picture something along the lines of "omg she's not fucking dressing for you". He came t…

This isn't about Jorge and Anfisa but I was pleasantly surprised to see a post about Natalie and Mike. Someone called Mike out for finding a woman from Kiev (a sophisticated European city) and then labelling her demanding and crazy when he just expected her to be happy doing NOTHING at his cabin in the middle of nowhere. Jorge meeting Anfisa is poetic justice: he was so misogynistic that he was shocked when his new wife wanted to be treated to luxury despite the fact that he pretty much lured he…

Hey! I totally understand where you are coming from. In late 2019 I found FDS and got counselling to help me get out of patterns with internalizing dynamics in all kinds of bad relationships. I started applying my new mindset to everything and everyone. Like you, I'm an extroverted and empathetic person - it's sad to write this but I remember crying on the phone to my mum when I was 23 and asking her "where are all the other 100% people?" I agree. I love to go out and indulge. I love to dance, a drink and to chat to people. And I am sick of the men I meet ruining my nights out after a hard week of work by literally claiming me for the evening as if I'm about to just take them home to fuck. I am so sick of men thinking that my apporachability and chattiness means that I want to sleep with them. And you can't win! Say you're cold and distant or you shut them down - you'll be called a bitch. There's no win.

I have made a couple posts/comments about how trash these apps are and I see a lot of excuses being made for them. Yup! Too right about women with children thinking us single women's hobbies and interests are unimportant. I am feeling so much second hand anger for you. I had a friend just like this! When I found this. Props to all of the very FDS-aligned commentary from courtreezy as well. Thank you for sharing this. There's a certain feeling of revictimisation when people (mostly women) open up about this and it's of particular note in sexual assault cases. It's why women do not always come forward and report abuse. Nah it's not just about the male lurkers. There's an FDS spin-off which just popped up and they've been trying to recruit from FDS. Their new sub is full of "FDS hates men" and "not all men" but they are also against labelling people pickmes and LVM. I mean, also fuck them. But I think having a rating system just like how men rate us will really put this into some kind of perspective for women who might see that sub and be like "oh yeah FDS is toxic".

This was a great read! Thankyou for sharing. I hope women lurkers get the takeaway here: there are worse things than being single and you don't have to be in a stereotypical abusive relationship to for it to be a bad one. When I was 16 in highschool, I started dating this guy. He was super fit, popular and smart. We dated for another 2 years after I finished highschool and in that time he just turned into an unmotivated pot head. I gained so much weight while dating him. When I decided it was ti…

Hi! Your friendly neighbourhood criminology student again. This is one for the male lurkers. In Australia, you can't be persecuted if the person you had sex with lied about their age although I'd say this would be very hard to prove in a court of law. And it only applies to teenagers around the 12-16 year age bracket. If you are a fully grown man and you are having sex with teenagers, you have a problem. The reason I bring this up is this: even the law agrees with you. You shouldn't lie about yo…

My biggest red flags are as follows: He turns all conversation sexual He talks about sex with his ex (unnecessary) He talks about sex too early on He talks about anything BDSM related On the last point - men who are into BDSM seem to rarely approach their partners about how they feel about it. They see it as an expectation most of the time. You can throw that man out, he will abuse you.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/04/21 10:21 PM

This is so true. A lot of men I know just swipe right on everyone and then decide on them after they get matches. In the words of a guy I used to know "there's always that one chick that goes for it".
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/04/21 10:53 AM

I just like to use their dumbass logic against them. "Oh yeah, you like BDSM and it's your right as a feminist to enjoy it? Well I, as a feminist, shall choose what I likes also and I choose to be sexually discerning". Their own logic defeats the purpose of their argument like, let's make ourselves palatable to men while shitting on other women who refuse to do so despite saying that we accept women unconditionally?? Make it make sense.

Glad I'm not the only one! I think being on there just requires effort to talk to men and vet them so if you're in a place where you feel good then it's like - but why am I here?! I don't need this! I just am not convinced about it. And while I don't assume men are better simply because they refuse to use the app, I just have to wonder about the men who I see circulating these apps. Regardless, I want to be approached IRL. To me it shows that you are outgoing and confident at the very least. So that's what I, personally, want. Anyway, if it's a choice between my shiny life and dusty dick, I know which one I am choosing every day of the week.

I agree that OLD has that advantage of showing us who is low value immediately. But I do have to disagree that these are the ones I'd meet IRL. So long as these shy, LVM are having any measure of success on these apps, they are not going to bother approaching women out of fear of being rejected. Why would you when you can stare at your phone and find someone to interact with from the comfort of your own home? I remember a few years ago, there was an argument going around MRA circles that more women are graduating university than men. If you look at the Global Gender Gap Report 2021 you'll see that's a load of shit and only true for a handful of countries. And even in the countries where that's the case, women still aren't attaining the same levels of employment as men.

I was engaged early. My now ex-fiance proposed about 1.5 years in. The reason we got engaged was to make visas easier. When I promoted him about whether or not he wanted to live in my country (Australia) he was unsure. It was enough for me to break it off. My advice here is this: have a serious chat about it and his motivations for engagement. It should be because he loves you and wants to build a life with you and for no other reason otherwise you will end up possibly in a bad marriage.

It took me a year into FDS to really embrace the block and delete. I struggled with it a lot for the reasons you mentioned - I wanted the last word. To anyone struggling with this, please know that your silence is the greatest insult to these men. They want a reaction from you. When I get a few things knocked on the head, I am going to write a post about this. In my opinion, it's linked innately to 18th and 19th century orientalists discovery of the middle east. Sir Richard Burton "translated" a number of texts including The Perfumed Garden which is an account of all of the sex he reckons he was having with middle eastern women. I have been lucky lately that mine are for the girls, but I have had situations in the past where I've had friends tell me we can't be friends after I've ended things with a man. I guess the way to counter this is to just keep your FDS strong and vet the hell out of them. I'm at an odds with what to do myself - I don't date the men I work with because I find it highly unprofessional and I've already had one drag my name through the mud aft…

The cognitive dissonance is strong, isn't it? I'm amicable with my ex who pushed several boundaries relating to consent while we were dating. We work together and I tolerate the occasional friendly chat to keep peace. He thinks we are friends. He shared with me that sex is a "biological need" for men and I argued that it was not and that we as humans are civilised enough to know the difference. I said it was a rapist mindset. Guess who hasn't spoken to me since? Cry me a fucking river.

Get new friends. I went on a date with a guy recently who I thought was a friend of a friend. He wasn't the best looking dude but I honestly don't concern myself terribly with that. I told our mutual friend and she just said "oh no, why? You can do sooo much better!" I ended up rejecting him because I noticed a few red flags and I was worried she would be mad for hurting his feelings or something (assuming they were friends). She immediately told me that she would always pick me over him. Having…

Here's a fantastic video on it - men over the age of 35 are having a worse time with it than you if it's any consolation. https://youtu.be/OnLpylrZ028 I back the sentiment of getting rid of the apps altogether. Men who use tinder and the likes see women as replaceable and they do not give the same value to their matches that they do the people they meet in person. Recently I met a guy who I'd been chatting to on Tinder about a year ago. He had asked me to go with him on a coffee date and I decli…

Once I was forced into anal and I have gone so far as to describe that scenario as rape because I was drunk. This man knew that. He also knew I'd never had anal sex before. He tried to say that I instigated it. Fucking pig. Ever since then I have said I'd do it only for someone I love. No I fucking won't. No one is coming near my ass, ever again.

It honestly disgusts me so much reading things like this from women. I honestly love that the pendulum is swinging back into their faces with this shit. I love that women aren't putting up with this abuse styled as an "innocent kink" anymore.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you're healing from that now. Even some of my friends who are into the BDSM scene have told me hundreds of times that sort of thing is not ok. And additionally "after care" is important. So by all of his own standards, he's still an abuser. Honestly, so many of my sexual experiences have just put me off men and sex entirely. Hey girl - same here. I love the block button. There is nothing more cathartic in this world then using your power to never see or talk to someone again (granted you don't have to). I use it on toxic women, on boys who've thoroughly disappointed me and anyone in between who I decide needs to be banished from my life. Social media is my safe space. This is true. When I was younger and didn't understand kinks or BDSM I dated a guy who'd had a crush on me for YEARS. His kink was rough sex and he flat out refused to do it with me because he didn't want to hurt me. Years later and one or two BDSM kinksters later I finally get it. Men don't want to hurt or degrade the women they love.

Totally! It's funny when people ask why we broke up because they don't get it. They think that sort of dynamic is normal or ok. There were some other problems there too but the fact that he didn't know how to just be a partner was the final straw I think. Cleaned up the grammar in my last comment too, my goodness. This pandemic has really separated the low from the high value men. Broke up with my now ex in the start of the pandemic because it turned out he would have just expected the wifey treatment from me and all of the things that made me attracted to him just went out the window. The nice dates? That was all he had. As soon as it came to putting an actual effort into cooking or planning things himself I realised he wasn't as good as I thought. I am so glad we didn't have kids.

I dress in a way that flatters me and in prints I like. I dress for me. I don't follow fashion trends and never have - if I feel like wearing a little white mini dress I will. Everyone here has already thrown in their 2 cents on your specific situation so I'd just like to put in a couple more about dating apps in general: I met my ex on tinder but I would like to heavily caveat this by saying that men on dating apps by and large do not view the women they meet on them as serious romantic partners most of the time. You have to vet hard if you want to use these platforms for dating. These men are strangers who routinely lie about their intentions. If you are looking for…

So true. I dated a scrote who I spent hours with talking on the phone because we met through friends when we were both away with work. We ended things so many times because he couldn't do the most basic things right like stop talking about his previous sexual encounters 🤢 One night when we were on the phone, he ended it "for good" (or what's what he wanted me to think. He was so manipulative that it was just a ploy to have me forget all of the bad shit he'd done and mourn the relationship). He t…

I got counselling after a string of bad relationships. I needed to learn how to value myself and enforce better boundaries. I've learnt how to be assertive before I reach a snapping point and I am slowly learning how to feel attracted to people who treat me well. I did a lot of work on what a good relationship looks like and what things I value (mine were empathy, honesty, loyalty). I have a lot of deal breakers and if ANYONE exhibits these in my life, I cut them out or I keep them at a distance…

I am in some very "woke" groups on FB and men and women alike hate them for seeking out and attempting to take advantage of bisexual women, effectively using them as an object. Salut ! What I am seeing here is a lack of direct communication. Yes, it might be your thing but you need to ask if you're going to settle for musical exchanges over actual communication. Is this what you really want or deserve? Or do you want someone who can actually show you he loves you when he says it rather than linking you to a song. Pull back, date other people. It will give you perspective. Other men will maybe put in effort where he didn't.

This should be in the handbook. This dude was in his mother's pocket, his mum would send him corgi memes and he'd ask me to do the same only he would get mad and tell me he'd seen all of them because his mum sent them to him already 🤮 I never quite figured out exactly why it was so "ick" but this really nails it.

It seriously messed with my self esteem because she was a model and studying to become a lawyer. If I had my time again I'd have told him to fuck off. Apologies - I wrote this on my phone. I meant *reframing. So assertiveness is pretty self explanatory.
