I’m going to assume you aren’t in the states. But in case you are this is a easy case I believe a lawyer would take up. You cannot retaliate as an employer against someone reporting a sexual harassment case. Demoting someone is retaliation. Now I understand that a lot of information is left out but if they offered your friend a different position and that position pays differently and your friend accepted that position then it’s not a demotion.
