That's misleading. India has less than 1/10th of the rapes reported per capita than US. Even if you assume US reports all rapes, which isn't true and India reports only 1/10th of rapes, a random person in US still has a higher chance of being raped.

It's not slander. Slander is when I say that you have sex with your mother. It's untrue, but what I'm insinuating is not illegal. This is more akin to perjury. If you were to be on trial for murder and I give false witness that I saw you do it (when I actually didn't). This carries a substantially higher prison term and a larger fine (though it goes to the court, unlike slander, where you receive damages typically) Perjury is a criminal offense, slander is a civil offense.

I'm in a full time career which is basically a startup that takes up majority of my week, just leaves Sunday, which goes in house management/girlfriend activities. True enough. USD conversion rate is quite good, which works in their favour. My point is, how is a region based discriminator different from a gender based one? There are tournaments for mental games (chess, esports and the like) that have tournaments for a specific region, then why not for a gender? This argument makes sense for a scholarship or hackathon, because there is a dearth of scholarships for men/boys, and women only scholarships are promoting unworthy graduates in STEM, which can impact other's lives.

FYI, there are both open and female-only chess divisions. Chess seems to be one of the only fields where men and women can compete reasonably.
