Non-modifiable versus modifiable alimony and how one is decided over the other in a SC divorce.Thank you for the detailed response. That makes sense. I think I'm getting off okay with my alimony payments, however, she'll be graduating with her Master's degree in education next year and will make a semi-decent income and I was hoping the alimony would go down at that time. She's also in a serious relationship and I could see them getting married in the next several years and also thought the alimony should stop if that happened. But I'm only on the hook for five years and then I'm done so … | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/02/22 09:49 AM
Alimony in South CarolinaSo we have no debt between us and everything's been amicable thus far. I'm a RN working mainly in CA and travel back and forth. She was nice enough to put on there joint custody even though I won't be there as often. I'll have visitations at any time because we've both agreed that spending time with our kids is very important. We're only using one attorney because we've agreed on everything up to this point on alimony payments. I'll pay $2500 in alimony until June 2027 regardless if she remarrie… | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/02/22 01:38 PM
Alimony in South CarolinaThanks for the reply. We're trying to use 1 attorney since everything's been amicable so far and we have no debt. She is working currently but doesn't make much at all. Her income is small right now but will jump a good bit after she graduates next year and starts working at the elementary school as a teacher. She'll be refinancing the mortgage which will lower her payments. It sucks I can't write off neither the child support or alimony. I'm okay paying that but I feel that it should go down a … | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/02/22 09:45 AM
Alimony in South CarolinaIt does say lump sum over five years. How the hell do they come up with that number? | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/02/22 01:07 AM
Initial consultations are so expensiveI think we can but once her parents get involved, probably not. I've always been on good terms with them but not sure how this'll play out and I just want to prepare myself accordingly. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/03/21 10:30 PM
Initial consultations are so expensiveDamn. Unfortunately, living in SC, I have to live separately for a year (which is another massive headache on top of everything else). Thanks for the insight. It means a lot. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/03/21 10:27 PM
Initial consultations are so expensiveThat's what I think as well but these firms have stellar reputations so I'm torn on what to think! | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/03/21 09:41 PM
Initial consultations are so expensiveHas your divorce been amicable? I think ours could be and I wanted to see how some of the attorneys communicate with me. The first attorney I spoke to wanted to be aggressive out the gate and I'm not trying to screw my wife over. I know she deserves half and I want to make this as flawless as possible. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/03/21 09:03 PM

Back Up All Your Text Messages and CallsTo add on to what you've said, ACR call recorder records your phone conversations. I record every single conversation I have with EVERYBODY. It doesn't take up much room on my phone and if you are in a state where all you need is the consent of one person (that being you) it is perfectly legal. It's available for Android, not sure about Apple. To me, this is extremely important to have on many different levels. | /r/TheRedPill | 09/04/16 05:55 AM
