Another word for frame could be: composure, countenance, equanimity, sophrosyne, mental strength Ooh, I love words like that. As a non-native speaker I have to look up some of them, but that really helps in getting an idea of the concept. Thanks!

My experience with Australians is not like that, and I think you're greatly exaggerating. However, in that case, gloves are off. You should stay calm and never initiate violence. But don't give no warnings either. Your right to safety is inalienable. If someone attacks you, you grab a pair of scissors or a pencil and you jam it in their eyes and/or throat. Forcefully, repeatedly and without hesitation.

Good find! That bit was interesting indeed. The interviewer is trying to control him, telling him he can't swear, while he was using quite a benign term. In a way, he's pulling a shit test. Russell reacts with Agree & Amplify. First he apologizes, and then amplifies with an actual swear word. Shit Tests 101, beautifully demonstrated by Mr Brand.

I think this is the key to explaining his actions. If you're rich and famous, I bet chicks are lining up to be with you. Maybe not all are golddiggers, but how can you distinguish? Katy Perry must have been one of the few women that obviously wasn't after his money. By not divorce raping her, he keeps the door open for another relationship like that.

I think when someone is (about to be) a victim of a violent crime, and it is reasonably possible for you to prevent it, you should. Regardless of gender, age and race, everyone has the right to be safe. So you're talking about a completely different situation, but the answer is yes.

Neither deserves sympathy Exactly. If OP sympathizes with women like that, then he's doing exactly the same thing as the white knights do. Every time a women fucks over her SO, white knights line up to excuse her behavior and blame the guy. Don't be like those guys. Instead, when you see white knights, just feel pity for them, like you do for people with a mental illnes.

I'm not sure if I'm having a blue pill relapse here, but I kinda feel bad for her. This whole club scene is fucked up in the first place, them letting girls in for free while guys have to pay the jackpot (reinforcing the idea that women have innate value while men are no more valuable than their wallet). As a kid I was kicked out of a few places, and that feeling of people not wanting you is painful. To be fair, she went through what a lot of guys go through regularly. But still it's uncool.

I read your post and thought about it for some time. It looks like you're traumatized in a way. The best thing you can do is find a psychologist and talk about your feelings. Also, maybe you can hang out with people from the same background. People who also grew up having nothing; they will be able to relate and I don't think you'll feel resentment towards them.

I do not agree that your anger is misplaced. You were manipulated, and your feelings about that are valid. I hope that understanding why she behaved the way she did will help you give the anger a place, and maybe let go of it when you're ready. In the same way, don't beat yourself up over your beta days.
