Our daughter was the exact same way at that age. Comically so. I took a couple of business trips and me being away for a bit, while hard on our daughter at first, made mother and daughter closer. Today, our daughter prefers us both equally. If it’s this important to your wife, try being away from home for a few nights if you can.

Great post echoing the same thoughts I’ve been having recently. Looking back, i really think the first shot fired in this modern day censorship war was google shutting down google reader. Reader was where you could visit a ton of sites using just one site. I think RSS-enabled sites using a client like Inoreader is the way to go in the future. It solves having to bookmark things and remember to check them.

Careful. Yes he ran. Why? Maybe two strangers are like, "What the fuck are you doing," and he sees that his consensual encounter now looks bad. He didn't know if they were going to beat him up or what. Very easy to pass judgement when you weren't there. I can spin it in a way that he was trying to protect himself, and you can spin it to say he was obviously guilty. The main lesson: don't do stupid shit in public. Keep your guard up. Had he just gotten her back to his place, my belief is consensu…

I actually haven't been black out drunk before and likely never will. And yes, never sexually assaulted a woman. If roles were reversed and he passed out and she kept going, nothing would have happened here. This is the core TRP tenet -- not that it's unfair (though it is), but that women keep saying they are equals. They are not. If she got behind the wheel of a car and killed someone, claiming she was too drunk to legally consent to drive would be laughable. But if she passes out while he's fi…

I think those things do matter. They were both drunk yet he got punished. For all we know he was passed out too and awoken by the cyclists. I am not defending Brock. He could be the biggest piece of shit ever. What I am defending, though, is the right not to have your life ruined over what was very likely a woman changing her mind. If she consented before she passed out, it changes the entire story. And in all likelihood she did. And if they were both drunk, regardless of what the law says, ther…

Was she awake when he started? Was he drunk too? Why would he assault someone in public and risk getting caught and having his life ruined? And she was spotted leaving the party with him. Scratch all of the above. I’ll make it simple for you. In all of these awful rape posts about Brock Turner that went viral a few years ago, did any of them make it clear that there was no intercourse? The answer to that is no. Why? Because a story about a drunk guy fingering a passed out girl behind a dumpster …

Brock Turner didn’t even have intercourse with the girl. They were both drunk and some foreign guys riding bikes decided to get involved. The girl had a boyfriend and so this was her way of getting out of getting caught. When that Brock Turner stuff was going around, did you just assume he had intercourse? They wanted you to believe he did. Did you hear anything about his side of the story? No. What you heard about was a sympathetic judge who had to book him under the law. Did you know a promine…

I saw that video. That video and almost every other like it, the man involved waits a long time to unleash, usually after several attempts to walk away or otherwise deescalate. And usually after being physically attacked. I think he should sue. He did nothing wrong (unless something before that video changes the context completely).

I understand where you're coming from and I think this is different. In my life, a woman has never, ever purchased razors for me. So while they may see sales from lots of women for their more feminine products, I do think males, who actually purchase the majority of Gillette products, will move on, especially in this era of wet shave info (safety razors, dual edge, competitors that deliver straight to home). You may ultimately be right, but the variables of the equation are different than they w…

Correlation does not equal causation. My only point so far has been that more science and research are needed. Are humans causing global climate change? It's a great question. Has it been proven we are? No, no it hasn't. If it were proven, there'd be no argument. We put more Carbon Dioxide in the air. Plants breathe CO2. Thus, there should be more plants. How is economics science? The only argument I can see is that it’s based on psychology. There are patterns in economics but that doesn’t make it science. It’s like saying the law is science or government is science. They aren’t.

You don’t understand science. You need a hypothesis. Then a test. Then results. Then repetition by others. In the 1800s, the arrival of Haley’s comet was predicted. That had never happened before. No such specific predictions exist for global warming, which is now called climate change, which used to be called global cooling. The science is not settled and demanding more proof is pro-science.
/r/MensRights04/10/18 01:26 PM
2

It is actually pro-science of people like me to demand more proof. I didn’t say it isn’t happening. I said it may be happening. But more proof is needed. That is not anti-science, but pro-science.
/r/MensRights04/10/18 01:22 PM
-15

Global warming cannot be modeled and this there is reason to doubt it. It may be happening but there is no true scientific proof that can predict the future accurately yet. Conservatives these days do not talk about gay rights and the like. You have a rather simplistic view of modern conservatism and may want to further research it rather than LOLing. In any case, the modern left has abandoned men, rationale, and logic. #believeallwomen

I think you're missing the point -- and it can be hard to get if you're not familiar with the games. Part of the reasons the fans love the games has been devotion to some level of historical accuracy, especially with regards to the soldiers, guns, and vehicles. The entire environment. The theater of war. This year, all of that gets eschewed because mah womyn soldiers. We live in an age where they removed the "N-word" from Huckleberry Finn. /r/MensRights13/07/18 10:23 PM

I think the point is that when you can name 4 women who were the exception to the rule, but you can’t name the millions of men, then maybe the game centering on women with bionic arms being historically accurate is a distorting the truth. The war was fought by 99.9999999999999999% men. Thus historically accurate game is exposing kids to history that didn’t happen.

Yeah I exaggerated for effect. Even if you moved next door, not going to happen. Judges don’t like changing the status quo. I got temp emergency custody of my daughter last year and am still working to make it permanent. Before I had custody though, the most important thing was that my daughter knew I was wanted to be there for her no matter what, and she is loved and can always reach out to me. Final advice to you is barring physical custody, what do you want out of this for you and your daught…
/r/MensRights29/03/18 07:13 PM

There are two types of custody—physical and legal. You are probably talking about physical. Physical is really the important one. You are not getting joint physical unless you move within one mile of your child’s current home. Joint legal basically means you are obligated to pay child support. There is very little power in joint legal. I don’t mean to be a downer. You are clearly awesome and have a huge tolerance for bullshit. More than I do. I just want to help you set realistic expectations.

Do NOT file for custody. You will not get it. Big waste of time and money. You’re disabled and you’ve never even seen your child in person. There’s not a judge alive who would grant you custody. When time comes, file for visitation. If you can agree to it with just lawyers do that (very possible without a court hearing) If she pulls the “not letting her see your child” bit, then file contempt against her. After you have an agreement or court order. If you can see your child without a court battl…

I want to clarify that I agree that it's way too easy to get convicted of a felony in the US and that I think our drug laws need to be rethought, still, the vast majority of our drug convictions are to men, and they do not get this kind of lenient treatment.

Children can still be used as weapons even without child support. Many people have an ingrained biological imperative to protect their children. But let's say you're completely right. I've been alienated too. I know what it's like, though in my case it was with my one-year-old daughter. You have to figure out what works for you. But do keep in mind that you also need to put yourself first. Your kids have been poisoned and they don't want to talk to you, so from their perspective you are annoying them. You want a relationship with your kids, and for whatever reason they don't want one. There are ways to open dialogs, but you have to put yourself in a position where they want t…

Sociopaths can use the family court system to ruin other people. If the system were truly about the best interests of the child, the majority of cases would be done in 3 months. But there's no money in that. So one person uses the system in all out war against the other, and the other has to defend, and everyone loses. The scam must stop.

I'm not perfect. I've made mistakes. The problem with allegations like this is you can't prove a negative. You can prove that someone molested a child by examining that child, but you cannot prove that the child was not molested. You can only say that no evidence appears that physical damage or evidence has been done to the child. I kept the moral high ground for a long time but now that I reflect it's gotten me nowhere and really hasn't done any good for my daughter. The only good to come out o…

Thanks for reading my other posts. Short version: I had just gotten separated and had women throwing themselves at me for the first time in my life. Fucked her the first time we met and a few weeks later fucked her again. That's when the condom broke. Then she opens up to me. Tells me she has a boyfriend. Tells me she shoplifted from Wal-mart. You gotta do what works for you, but here are some of my recommendations, some of which may sound harsh: If you're contacting them weekly and getting no response, take the hint. Don't torture yourself. Also, no one likes a beggar or pleader. If you want to do something like travel the world or what not, do so, and post those details on your social media. Be attractive to them. If you do want to message them once more, make it a final type of message. Tell them you wish to respect them, however t…

I recommend Divorce Corps as well. The movie doesn't talk about the scamminess of this enough. They talk about how family law trumps The Constitution and how lawyers and judges are co-workers, but Bumblefuck, MS doesn't have a revolving door of law firms and judges. A big part of the problem is that different states' laws are not at all the same. I'd love to see an amendment to The Constitution that addressed parents' rights, so at least some sort of uniformity could occur. But that's not going …

I'm not sure that anyone knows how common it is to be accused of molestation during a custody case. I can offer some anecdotal evidence though. I had a new client once. Over email, I mention that I'm involved in a custody case and that limits my ability to travel. I typically keep work life and personal life as separate as possible, but over the years have lear…

I don't believe the court would actually give 50/50. The mother has moved 3 times since my case started. She can live anywhere she wants. Me? I can't realistically live in Bumblefuck, MS, due to needing to be close to an airport. The situation sucks. I either give up my freedom to be closer to my daughter (with no guarantee the court will change anything) or live an hour away in a city with far more amenities (like an airport and high speed internet) that help me run my business. I agree with you, completely. I'm talking about action. I don't see a real, actionable path to getting child support repealed. No politician is going to float a bill to remove child support obligations. No legislature would approve that bill if it did happen, and no lobbying group proposing such a thing would get anywhere. The only thing that I think would work is if all fathers banded together, as a group protest, and for one or more months, just didn't pay their child support. Protest and floo…

I think Minnesota is trying to move toward this however most states are still fighting it due to best interests of the child. The real battle is and always will be about child support. The second problem for the system is that shared custody makes things easy. If I hate my ex but I also know that there is no abuse or crime around, then I'll get shared custody, and that means I won't hire a lawyer for a lengthy trial, but rather to bang out an agreed order. Shared custody undermines child support…

Women view children as a meal ticket because the system encourages slavery of men via child support. Child support is at best, taxation without representation, and at worst, slavery. Child support is: tax-free to the mother comes from the after tax money of the father is not calculated by the amount of time the non-custodial parent gets (ie, I have to pay child support even when I have my kid over the summer, even though I have more expenses over the summer with my kid like camp, babysitters, fo…

That's a great point. A convicted drug offender mother against an out of state father -- the mother wins every time. I was not in a position to move to Bumblefuck, MS. And even moving there is a gamble -- it would strengthen my case, but there is NO GUARANTEE it would help. But if the father would have missed one child support payment they would have been on him like white on rice. That's really the most important thing you said. However, if he doesn't pay child support, his wages get garnished. If that's not possible, men with guns come and arrest him. If you ask a la…

The mom lived in Oxford, MS, small town america. The cops were issued the warrant by the court with the expectation that they deliver said warrant. In MS, the statute that they were charging her with falls under the "Child Abuse/Neglect" laws (at least as it regards sentencing). That's pretty serious, even if it isn't murder. Schools also get funding based on attendance. Truant kids = less money for the school. There's incentive to deliver these warrants.

Getting the truth out there with verifiable examples is one thing we can do to make sure that men have a real idea of the scam. If they know it's a scam they won't participate. So step one is to educate as many folks as possible.

I would like to say your friend was in that 17% statistical anomaly, but in cases where the child has a say with whom they live with, you should absolutely go to court to make it official. Still, though, it took 2 months. Think about that. In many cases "temporary orders" are completely valid. If the judge knew that was the ruling he was going to make, he could have made a temporary order for the benefit of the child, and then made his final ruling upholding the temporary order. I'm going to lay down some super red pill shit here. Swallow at your own risk. If there is no court order in your case yet (usually a temporary order Witt visitation and child support is created really early), if you want to win custody, take the kids and don't give them back until an order forces you. Possession is 9/10 of the law and that applies here too. In most states, the parent who has possession of the kids before court and during the trial wins by default because that parent is the one …

This is very similar to where I'm going with this series. The issue becomes how you defend yourself legally. Because once you're in the legal system you are (in some states) forever at risk of being dragged back into it. If no one pays lawyers, the system will change. If more men had your attitude, many (but not all) women would really think hard before giving birth out of wedlock/divorce.

I like that idea. I also like the idea of it being on a debit card where the father has access to the transactions, and transactions like alcohol and cigarettes were not allowed, like food stamps. Having access to the transactions makes it much harder for the mother to sell the debit card for cash, especially if it's a revolving account. The next step would then be to get judges to give a shit. It's sad, but this is not just a technology issue.

This is a fantastic article about a mother who puts her kids first. She went to court to have the back child support removed, and makes points about how the current system, being as combative as it is, delegates non-custodial parents (i.e., fathers) to merely being viewed as a wallet, and how even the term "child support" has more meaning than "money."

As far as we know, her husband works and she doesn't, unless I read the OPs post wrong. She does support her kids. Again, though, you're judging someone else's money. I think $420 is reasonable. Your post assumes two things: 50/50 custody is possible. Many judges and states won't give 50/50 custody though. Too traumatic for the child, they argue. People going through divorces are reasonable AND the system is there to help them stay reasonable. Who are you to determine what's reasonable? If the OP's story is true and the church is receiving the child support, then how is that at all irrelevant? It's easy to be generous with other people's money, isn't it? For some people, $420 is a lot of money.

Thank you for all of your replies to my messages. The point that women file first is directly related to the fact that women are granted the most valuable marital assets (the children) 80-90% of the time, gives them a built-in incentive to dissolve marriages. That's why it's important. This implies that if custody was seen as 50/50 by default (some states are moving to this) that women won't have an incentive to dissolve their marriages. Thus, it matters, big time. No system is perfect but our s…

Agreed with you that it does veer into other issues, but vehemently disagree with you not spinning things. The "best interests of the child" means whatever the court wants it to mean, and when you have one person's interests above all others, that is not justice. But I do want to enlighten you instead of arguing with you. From Wikipedia: The National Center for Health Statistics reports that from 1975 to 1988 in the U.S., in families with children present, wives file for divorce in approximately…

If the court believes everyone lies then why even bother swearing people in? Why not enforce the perjury laws on the books instead? This would cut down on lying and allow people who aren't lying an advantage that you claim they currently do not get. (IOW our lawyer here is basically saying that lying wont necessarily hurt you because everyone does it). As far as custody not being a sex-biased issue, I find your argument flawed. Our society has raised men with the expectation of being a breadwinn…

I did some research on this issue during my custody case and unfortunately, I think the IRS is right in their actions here. I am NOT saying I agree. I am just saying they are acting as they always do. The tax code states that you must have physical custody of your child for over half of the year (there is an actual number stated) in order to be able to legally claim the child as a dependent. So, under the tax code, if she did have this child for 207 days, she has the legal right to do what she d…

If they are so certain you are not the father then they should have no objections to a paternity test. If they object to the paternity test, then logic dictates that it must be that they believe you are the father. Either way though, the child has a father somewhere and the child, theoretically has a right to know its dad.

Interesting question: who was listed on the birth certificate as the father? My guess is that Megan's parents left that portion blank and signed the birth certificate. If what you say is true, this will completely work against them in court. You need to find a lawyer and act fast. The courts already don't give a shit about fathers' rights and every day that baby is with her grandparents is a day that the baby has bonded with them and they'll make the argument that pulling the baby from the only …

I was one of these guys, and may still be working through it actually. I think the reason is that at work there are known rules. You know what your organization thinks of you, and if you're good at what you do, you know how valued you are, whether or not it is ever formally recognized. You can build one what you learn and learn more and build deep bonds with people as you see them daily. Non-work life is different. What goals do you have? I get what you're saying so let's focus it. Forget his standup. Talk about the episodes of Louie. He claims that a few of them are based on his life, a few years before he really got famous. Likely just after his divorce. If you watch how he deals with Pamela and most of his romantic interactions (including being forced to perform oral sex on a woman he didn't want to do it to), his show just oozes beta.

I'm not sure what you mean by this comment. I didn't say CK was clueless, just that I thought he was a beta. Louis worked very hard to get as famous as he is. He had to learn to work with suits and eventually get them out of the way. I have major respect for him, and that's why I believe at work he is an alpha dog. He writes his show though, and that one with his crazy date with the crazy chick--that's exactly how not to date. An alpha would never have gone along with that crazy chick. It really…

Louis is a beta boy. I love him and his comedy, but make no mistake from watching his show he is all in on the beta. He's very alpha about his production and how he gets stuff done, but I feel he does pedastalize women. I also feel that is changing as he's gotten more famous. But he'll still always be a beta. You're putting too much pressure on yourself, and you're communicating it as well. It's all in your head. I believe that if men and women shared prison cells, that instead of being a punchline, the topic of prison rape would actually be taken seriously. Also, if men and women were in the same prisons, I think you'd see the conditions of those prisons dramatically rise. That's my point. It's not to further punish the women, but to improve things for the male prison population. TLDR: There are male gazelles too. EDIT: Fixed a typo.

The best advice so far on this thread is that, if you are already on the birth certificate, get the child and don't turn her over again until there is a court document. You can let the mother call or webcam, but don't give the child back. It's complete bullshit that the system works this way, but when there is no order you are not obligated to do anything, and then you go to court and argue that the kid is closer to you (because she's spent more time with you). Also, if you are not smoking weed …

Thank you for actually citing a source. I have been unable to read all of the first link, but the thing that jumped out most at me was that they consider "joint custody" as being "awarded custody." This is where actually going through this stuff you realize that is not the complete story. When non-lawyers talk custody, they talk about "sole physical custody". Based on what I know about this case, I'm still in disagreement that the entire prenup should be thrown out. If this guy only gave the prenup one or two days before the wedding, then she should not have married him. If the wedding reception that her dad spent a lot of money on was so important, she had two options at that point: She says, "No, I'm not signing the prenup until after our honeymoon" or She refuses to marry him, and asks for him to repay her father. What's the point? Because I've missed it. Why should differences in religion be brought up at all? You are correct. I have no proof yet that this is about my atheism. And the judge likely won't expose that in her written ruling if it is indeed about my atheism. The problem is that according to my lawyers, this particular judge usually does not give such lopsided rulings, and does not make it a habit of ignoring the GAL's recommendations. Apparently the judge does. The defense also hammered away about this. The Guardian ad Litem, did NOT care that I'm atheist. I have heard hearsay about prenups getting overturned. It's nice to know they work. One additional tip I heard (and I don't ever plan on getting married again, but for the suckers out there who do): as each partner signs the prenup, they should be recorded on video and then say something like, "I am of sound mind and I just read, understood, and signed this document." Glad it worked out for you!

On the podcast I mentioned that this judge has a good reputation for being fair. My lawyers assured me that nothing about her ruling is normal. Even prenups aren't a guarantee. I count you lucky. What women and the law fail to realize is that if the system doesn't change, then men just won't get married or commit, and thus fewer children are born and those that are have a higher chance of being born to a single mother. This can't be good for society as a whole. It's already happening. That's a great question. Long ago my lawyer told me that this judge is my judge forever. The weird thing is that I don't get the impression that the state or the system hates me, but I do get the impression that this judge does. This is precisely why I believe in the abolition of child support. Child support makes the government an interested party in the case. If Child support is not paid, the government 'loses' revenue. Non custodial parent's ability to pay is irrelevant. Second, since women win custody at least 80% of the time (if not higher), women have a financial incentive to break up their own family at the man's expense. If custody were truly about who the better parent is and not the parent's gender, then this …

I can't say I disagree with you. My point was more along the lines of "everyone gets a trophy" being a more female idea. If men ran the school system, you would never see an idea like that gain any sort of traction. And to bolster my point with yours -- you're stating that the system is anti-intellectual, and I state that as a result, women flocked to said system while men have flocked from it, by and large. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.

You're probably right, since this is your profession and you have more firsthand accounts than probably most people here. The problem I have with what you say is since the US family court system is basically a 'winner take all' system regarding custody, women know that if they leave their husband that there's a greater than 90% chance that they will retain custody and thus get child support at his expense. Thus the system encourages divorce, and that's why we have so many men not getting married…

Won't help. Court's standard is "best interest of the child." If the child is born it is the most important thing. "Best interest of the child" frequently means whatever the court wants it to mean, usually that it's more important to jail a dad for non-payment of support than it is to force a mom to allow a dad to see his kid.
