A couple of months ago I saw this AMA with Daniel Weible, and as great as AMA's are they generally can't get all the details in a story like this.

A podcast can, though, and I have one, so I asked him for an interview and he obliged. It's a long discussion but there is a LOT of good advice in it if you or any man you know is going through a custody dispute.

It's also a reminder of the uphill battle men face in getting visitation rights to their kids. A mother can have a kid and then become "concerned" about the father, and if the father hasn't acted perfect, he has to justify to the court why. And because of Daniel's financial situation, he really can't even afford to go in front of a judge and say he could have done things better.

I think this podcast shows how the system has good intentions but that it is broken in many ways, and it should never have reached the point of Daniel going to prison. It seems to me like the entire system sometimes is set up solely to discourage fathers from being in their kids lives.
