Oh so true. I got off Facebook because even mundane posts would get questioned by potential partners. I think google and social media has led to people being iver cautious. You need to roll the dice to have a chance of winning.

Unfortunately girls feel the need because they have been burned in the past. The player guys lie. The player guys are usually the ine women go after, often unwittingly because a player guy is good with words. Guys who are honest have to deal with the suspicion created by the player. I dont like it. I don’t like feeling I am under surveilance all the time, but I get how women feel the need to protect themselves. Sad thing is it creates tension in a relationship.

Much better for me. More money. More me time. I am way more productive. I can see who I want, when i want. Been on more pleasure trips in the past year than I did in the past 10. Only down side is the single women out there are so damaged emotionally. And the kids aren’t too happy.

Yes two households makes no financial sense. The money your saving by not getting a seperate place can go directly to your childrens well being. The way I look at it, you collaborated to create those kids you should take the responsibility to collaborate to insure their well being.

For me it was a matter of not being a weekend dad and it allowed us to pool money for house repair. When we finally came down to settle. Tempers were gone and it made negotiation easy

I have a differing opinion. Stayed with mine for 6 years. We grew to do our own things independent of each other. Once that happened, the fights stopped. Bickering stopped. It was peaceful. Caveat, my kids were teenagers so they were doing their own things as well. Yes kids do model after their parents. So you can also model divorce as an option. There is a way to be happy in an unhappy marriage. Footnote. Kids are all in good stable relationships. They are with people whom they have fun with.

Doesnt have to be what you deem fun stuff. Kids want to be around you. Get them involved in your weekend chores or hobbies, age appropriate hobbies of course. Or find something that interests them that you can all do together. Puzzles, music, volunteer work. The key is they want you and your attention. If you start out as being the “Disney” dad they will expect that all the time.

Had a huge circle of friends pre split. That circle got narrowed down to only one of the original group. Good news is I am now able to choose with whom I socialize with without being chastised. Embrace it

I stayed for 15 years in a situation like that. I refused to be a weekend dad and the way the courts see things thats what I would have been. Fast forward 20 years and 5 after divorce. I am happy, kids are happy and in great relationships.

Yea men get the shaft. Lost a substatial amount from my retirement. She had little to no retirement because she had cashed it out leaving us a huge IRS bill. But now I realize how much little money I need. And it has shown a light in to her spending habits. I will be fine. She will blow through her half of my retirement within 5 years I am sure. Marriage is a business deal. Love is the bait to get engaged in that deal.

This is a good idea but with one caveat. Make sure the counselor isnt one to push a personal agenda. Sounds harsh but many counselors push their personal agendas on people all the time. Hard to find good unbiased counselors anymore.

Interesting and good observation. Alcoholics and drug addicts stop maturing and get stuck around the age their addictions took root. Makes sense that victims of trauma would as well

Talked to my finance guy. He suggested having her refinance as sole and seperate. This will create a new loan with only her name. I would be required to sign off in it. The advantage being it will be a new loan. I will get paperwork stating that the old loan was paid in full. According to him, in my state, the quit claim deed would just take my name off of deed not loan and because of that it would be handled in court S community property. I think thats my best option because then the court an i…

My marriage produced a lot of good relationships. Unfortunately the focul relationship went bad. Her family is great. As are the friends she had when we met. Still close with all. Marriage enabled me to meet some good friends I probably never would have met single. The #1 benefit was my kids!!! But I doubt I will ever do it again.

I do t think you ever get over a cheating spouse. You will never fully trust her like you used to. Mine cheated 14 years ago. She wanted a divorce. We had young kids, 11&6. I didnt want to be a weekend dad. So I convinced her and myself that we could get past it. Move forward. Rekindle love. What a bitch I was lol I never got over it. Suspicion was always there. I never took her attempts to change seriously. I didnt trust her. Looking back had I been able to quell those suspicions and trust but …
