This is what I may have gone through, although we had a kid. Having one wouldn’t help your marriage. You both need therapy with full honesty and transparency and also a different one for marriage/couples. The goal is to understand each other and make earnest attempts to see if underneath the toxicity if there is something you can build a new foundation on. Get therapy to help you uncover this. It may stem from your childhood. It’s hard for any stranger to say without a significant amount of information and context, that’s what therapy is for. Good luck figuring it out. lol

At the moment we are living in the same house while we try to figure out what the divorce is going to be like. As mentioned, we are both aware that we can’t reasonably financially afford to fully separate at the moment. We are co parenting well but as soon as the kid is asleep, we go our separate ways.
