That's what I did. I didn't associate with the person's name but did just make a point to mentally tell myself the eye color of everyone I talked to until I didn't have to think about it anymore and it was just automatic.

Going to be buried but whatever. You seem like you suffer from an illusion that 95% of guys have - women aren't people. They are. If someone man or woman came up to you and asked "Batman vs. Superman" you would answer and think this person is fun. AA comes from this feeling that women aren't just human beings with as many quirks and feelings of inadequacies as men. Once you realize they are not above you, talking to them comes a lot easier. I guess what I am saying is you sound like you are lear…

The initial text about what you joked about is fine. It's the "Dinner Tomorrow" one that is probably coming off as desperate. Wait a day or two and then send the "I liked talking with you the other night, let's do it again, dinner tomorrow?"

Maybe you came off too needy at lunch. If it were me, more or less blow it off with a "I'm just looking to have fun this semester when I'm not studying. If you want to hang out, let me know. If you are too busy, no worries." Then next her and move on. If she is pulling this now, she could end up bringing more drama than she is worth.

And that is exactly why I said "To me". It is my opinion (everything on seddit is opinion really). And I realize there are certain situations where someone else may find attraction in women who enjoy the asshole. That is completely their preference and if that's what they like, then rock on. My point goes more to the general ideology on Reddit that the "forever alones" will be able to pull in HB10s just by talking down to them and belittling them because that's what the assholes do instead of ju…

I stand corrected. Meant semantics. Type logistics. What can you do.

I'll agree it is easier to just be an asshole and you will probably get some tail. But is that the type of woman you are looking to attract? If so, that is great and to each his own. I honestly don't judge you in any way, shape, or form. For me, the thing I find the most attractive is a woman of substance who is interesting and confident in her skin that would tell me to go, "fuck myself" if I tried to be an outright asshole to her. I know there are women at the bar that are very attractive that…

Again my point wasn't just being nice gets me anything but I don't think being an asshole is necessary to get women.

I agree with you. I guess I didn't get that the stigma of "nice guy" was with that of AFC. I always considered the nice guy to be just a guy that is not nice not a synonym for AFC. In the end my point is you don't have to be an asshole to get laid.

I suppose we are just talking logistics. When I think of a nice guy, I think a guy that is just nice to people. I guess there may be a stigma to the "nice guy" but my point is you can be nice to people and still get loads of tail. You don't have to be an asshole to get women. I do perfectly fine and last woman I insulted was my ex-wife a LOOOONG time ago : )

Exactly, my bad, should have been clearer.

I don't think AFC=nice guy. You can be a nice guy and not be an AFC. A confident, outgoing guy can still be a nice guy and pull in more tail than any asshole can. And, better quality tail since he didn't have to make her feel like shit just to get in her pants. Edit: grammar

I completely disagree. Why is being a nice guy a sign of weakness? Being a nice guy that doesn't allow people to walk all over them and is comfortable and confident in their own skin is much better than being an asshole. There is a difference between being a nice guy and an AFC.

I got the most # closes in college when I worked for the school newspaper. Go around interviewing students was instantly a way to start talking and find out about them while it being legit. I remember I did a story around Valentine's Day. Interviewed five dudes what they would look for in a perfect mate. The interviewed about thirty women the same question. Got ~10 numbers in the first hour. If you are in college, go work for the paper guys. Easy way to meet lots of women.

They like older guys because we are more mature, less prone to drama, and more CONFIDENT. Stop being so down on yourself man. There are a lot of fuck ups who just sit around and do nothing. You are trying to do something with yourself and that counts. The sooner you find out that you are not a loser the sooner the women will come to you.

I am really confused. Why is going to school to better yourself for a good job make you a loser? Sitting at home because you don't want to work or better yourself makes you a loser. If any woman looks down on you for going to school, then she is one you don't want to be your gf anyway. Also, why not talk with women who are also at your school. They can't have too much of a shit opinion on you if they are doing the same thing. Finally, as an older guy - don't make yourself younger. A LOT of women…

Either don't even respond or play it cool and funny. "something with someone, like herpes?" and leave it at that.

I am in the same boat. Just explain that you live in the burbs and see if she offers to go back to her place. I would also always bring money for a hotel room so that is always an option as well but hotels in big cities are expensive as hell.

Look at it this way, if you not FORCING her to allow you to buy her beer (you offered for fuck sake and she denied it) that is a whole lot of crazy you don't want to stick your dick in.

Lol. I wasn't suggesting just go out and fuck someone just to make her jealous. More or less saying, next her. If it makes her jealous and rebuilds attraction, then give it another shot.

I always had the same problem, no worries about starting a conversation but conversation seemed to go dull quickly (dealing with men and women). What helped me a lot was a theory on here I read awhile back about taking key words they say and just redirect the conversation on that. "What did you do this weekend?" "Me and my friends went to a party." "You went to a party?" "Yeah, it was a 90's theme, it was fun." "What goes into a 90's theme?" Rinse, repeat, until she is comfortable and you can st…

Back off. Take time away. Let her wonder why. Maybe a hookup or two that she finds out about through said third party. Attraction begins to rebuild. Second time around, don't fuck it up :)

But what if she really has a boyfriend and agrees to a double date but you don't have a girlfriend. Then you have to come up with some elaborate scheme to get a girlfriend to go on this double date so you don't look like you were lying and just trying to get in her pants. I think I watch waaay too many sitcoms.

Well, until you scrap the attitude telling you that you are ugly, you are never going to be attractive to others. Once you start to believe that you are attractive, so will everyone else. You don't need us to convince you, you need to convince you.

Just like any physical injury, when your mind hurts that means it is healing. As a man in the midst of a divorce I can tell you it takes a long time to get over someone. My wife and I have been separated for nine months and I hurt all the time. But, I am starting to see a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel. It's there man, just keep your head up.

As an older guy, I think the low frequency is sound advice - for older women. Much of this board is high school/college guys looking for high school/college women and those women are looking for completely different things, i.e. the life of the party all the time, than older women who spent a good portion of their life with those types and are now looking for someone more laid back. Just an observation from an old man...now, get off my lawn.

I just stopped in to say you mention that this is taking a toll on your studies. That is THE MOST important thing right now. If you don't have your shit together, people know it. Get your affairs in order then worry about chasing tail. Edit: wrong use of then and than. Good to know that English degree is paying off.

I had the same fears when I first started working out. What I did initially (and it would depend if you have the space) was just buy a cheap weight bench, a hundred pounds of weights, and some resistance bands. Worked out at home until I felt I knew what I was doing and wasn't so self conscious - then I joined a gym and realized it really wouldn't have mattered since there are a lot of people at the gym overweight and underweight. But, it is all about what you are comfortable with to get lifting…

I was thinking the same thing. A club can be very intimidating (especially as you get older (I am in my late 30's so half of the time I feel like the creepy old guy at clubs)). A local Irish pub or the like may be more your style. Instead of pacing the floor, just go grab a seat next to the hotties and just start talking.

This, you can't make yourself more interesting to people because everyone's interests differ but you can make what you enjoy interesting to others by being really passionate and knowledgeable about it. Hell, I have spent countless hours talking to people about video games, computers, and Web design where I knew that these things were not their hobby but I talked about it in a way where they kept wanting to know more. Upvote to you good sir.

He had me until he got Rocky IV reference wrong. It wasn't Ivan Drago he fought that the "he's just a man" reference, it was Clubber Lang and it was Apollo that said it since it was after Mick died. Damn, I watched the Rocky movies too many times.
