The only problem is she lives 30 minutes away from me, so its not like we can see each other everyday. 30 minutes? That's nothing! It's a 1 hour round trip time, unless you're working two full time jobs you should be able to make time for that.

Not only on the street. It's a fairly regular occurrence: some richer-looking foreigners get sloshed at a table (which is easy because normal drinks are cheap), some girls join them, chat them up, then convince them to order bottle service. When they get the bill, it turns out that they ordered an off-menu champagne which costs $300/bottle instead of the €30 ones on the menu. And if the foreigners don't have enough cash, a nice security guard will escort one of them to the nearest ATM while the …

My real problem is the kind of music going on in night clubs. I can tolerate the crowds, the noise, the smell, the strobes, the drink prices, etc... - if there is some good rock / metal / punk on the stage. Well, that's not what usually goes in night clubs. And especially not in my city. Look up "Maastricht Syndrome" on Urbandictionary.

Start a study group. Invite various students from all gender, color and creed (such as: a grumpy, older white student, a black Christian mother, a nervous young Jewish straight-A girl, a black former jock and a middle-eastern weird kid). And of course invite the girl too. Look cool and always text to someone on your phone.

Talking up your friends is actually a pretty standard tactic. Talking yourself up is bragging and nobody likes a bragster. Bragging comes across as needy and insecure. However, by talking up your friend, you show that: You're confident. You're not afraid of telling her that your friend is amazing, ergo you're not afraid that she will pick him either because a) you're even more amazing and you know that she'll stay with you or b) you could just find another girl. Contrast this with the guy talkin…

Lists like this are like horoscopes. If you have success, you can pick at least 50 bullet points that you are doing and you can say "so true, I'm doing a bunch of stuff from my list and it works". If you don't you can pick at least 50 you aren't and say "so true, of course I don't have success, I'm not doing a lot of stuff on the list".

Well, the hostility towards the sub usually focuses on some very definable points: Lingo. Especially "HBx". People think it's dehumanizing and to be honest, there's some truth to it. If you don't read enough material, you might not know that it rather denotes social status in the group than looks (they simply tend to correlate for women). LMR-breaking techniques. I'm pretty sure they sound kind of rapey even for some of the sedditors. Outer game, especially canned routines. They give them a lot …

You said below (or above, whatever the voters decide...) that you are ESTJ. I'm ISTP and I think that the P part makes it a bit easier to connect to most people and the I part makes is easier to hide that you don't actually share anything with them. In regards to the MBTI-scale, I think the last one (J/P) is the easiest one to change. You're probably not a sociopath, checking your comment history didn't raise any red flags. Same thing here. The problem is me. And it took me a while to realize. But I'm boring. Most of my interests are well outside the scope of most people. I'm a programmer. I'm a huge nerd. What I'm really interested in is boring for most people. OK, I have encountered girls who, for example, have loved astronomy, but that was the rare outlier. I don't have the solution yet. But I guess knowing that I'm the problem is part of it.

Well, for example Hungarians bond by complaining. I moved to the Netherlands two weeks ago and it was the greatest culture shock: people here don't start complaining about school, work, bosses, teachers, the government, politics in general (OK, that one is warranted), wages, TV, their health, etc... 30 seconds after introduction. They want to talk about common interests.

I think of it as the Game Theory definition of a game (of course it's easier if you have studied Game Theory): a "game" is a series of interactions among the lines of a set of rules between players with different strategies who try to maximize their payoffs. Game theory considers every interaction as a game - diplomacy, society, etc..., so the "game" can naturally be examined as a game in Game Theory: Players: you, the "target" (the girl), the "obstacles" (the girl's friends), the wingmen (your …

Depends on the severity of the one-itis. If the girl you have one-itis towards (from this point onward: "your crush") is better (or you assume her to be better) than 70% of the other girls then if you meet at least 2 girls there's a 50% chance that one of them is at least as good as her. However, if your crush is better (or you assume her to be better) than 93% of the other girls, then theoretically you should meet at least 10 other girls to have a 50% chance of finding one who is as good as her…

First of all, find venues where you feel comfortable! If you feel uncomfortable at a place, approaching will be basically impossible. You should feel relaxed and comfortable first. Confidence: excuses. Use the Fox News Method: keep telling yourself you're awesome 'till you start believing it. And get better friends! Authenticity: OK. Assertiveness: your stature is only a part of the problem (and the part that is easier to fix; r/fitness). Assertive =/= aggressive, maybe you keep mistaking the two. Sexuality: fine. The question is: do you do it to make her like you, or do you do it just because you want to do it? If the former: congratulations, you are a "nice guy"! Man up and stop doing favors; favors won't get you laid! If the latter: you are just nice, you don't have to feel bad about it. I routinely help people in their studies regardless of gender - being the geek I am, I feel a moral obligation to give knowledge when asked. I don't feel like a chump, I'm just sticking to my principles. So ask yoursel…

0) Don't try to "win her back"! That ship is gone. 1) "There was no game, nothing whatsoever in finding her in the first place" - There was. Only unintentional. If you want to salvage anything from the relationship, try to remember everything, from the moment you saw each other to the moment you were making out. Because that day, you were successful and dissecting that success will help you be successful later too. I'm making a wild guess and say that getting a girl wasn't your top priority, you…

You know, "game," the use of signaling tactics to persuade, nudge, or trick a woman into treating you like a higher status male than otherwise would be the case. This is where he gets it wrong. He assumes there is one single game and it's all about marketing. However, as Bryan J. dissected it in this thread, there are two main "pickup schools" (with an awful lot of sub-schools). He is talking only about the "Gamer" school, completely ignoring the existence of the "Lifers" (it seems like he consi…

I'm from Hungary, a post-socialist country and yes, while we were still behind the iron courtain, there were lots of women in those areas too (both my parents are mechanical engineers, for example). However, back then the heavy industry was extremely encouraged. After the great political mess-up the governments threw the baby out with the bathwater and stopped encouraging the kids to become engineers or scientists. Also, people thought that "west = good", so they uncritically accepted everything…

Not only mathematicians require math skills. Every science, engineering and economics major needs to know a lot of math. Maybe not as hideously abstract and complicated math as math majors, but still pretty hard and complex math. Since stereotypes say engineering and natural sciences are "manly" fields, a large percentage of mathematically inclined women will become economists. With the notable exception of architecture (which is rightfully perceived as the most artsy engineering major) and chem…

Lunch time, usually. Most people don't drink coffee much later (after college...).

I didn't meant to brag, but knowing Reddit, even if I just wrote "very intelligent" or "pretty smart", some would have demanded proof :P [citation needed] Well, I was thinking on that method, but they might need a little more help. However, I'll definitely try it first, who knows, maybe that's the push they need.

Mensa testbook and a test supervised by a psychologist. I know internet tests are pretty much bullshit, or at most they can indicate the magnitude, but not the exact score.

My interpersonal skills are a lot lower than my intelligence and while I'm actively trying to use that IQ to improve them, it's a pretty ineffective method. Also, while alcohol improves social skills by removing some inhibitions and pushing me to the extroverted end of the scale, it also diminishes intelligence pretty fast, so after a couple of drinks, I have at best average people skills and average intelligence.
