What if it’s the case of mistaken identity? Or how about this? My overall point is that finding the accused not guilty of rape does not necessarily mean that the accuser can be prosecuted for false accusation. There would have to be additional evidence that the accusation was false and malicious.

The way the question is framed is that both the accuser and accused are effectively on trial, with one person always getting the punishment (for either rape or false accusation). That is simply not how it works. If person A is acquitted of a crime, that does not necessarily mean that person B lied about it.
