At this point almost everyone has been on a dating app, it's not just a certain type of woman. I mean I think there's a good argument to be made to not use dating apps, but I don't think the quality of girl you meet there is a good one. I've met some good ones through apps.

Yeah I felt the same until I found a good one. Was in and out of therapy for years, none were helpful, waste of money and time. Didn’t trust the industry as a whole. I probably still don’t. But the ~8th therapist I tried completely changed my life in maybe a dozen sessions. Mental health is a skill that can be taught. Had I never seen her, I’d 100% agree with you.

Nothing sexual or romantic at all? Prob mid 20s. A lot of people don’t get involved in that as teenagers. Then sometimes the high school routine stays around through early 20s, then by 23-24 you might have some anxiety or hesitation cuz you start to feel behind, then by like 25-26 you should have started to figure it out somewhat. Edit: saw your post history. Therapy man. It’ll help. What you’re dealing with is disordered anxiety of some kind. I went to therapy for the same thing. It helps.

I’m about to hit a year since the last time, I’m perfectly content. Of course I’d like to have sex, but the lack of it doesn’t feel like I’m missing a real need right now.

Your looks aren’t your problem. How’s your social life? What do you do on weekends? How do you meet women?

Idk, seems like a pretty extreme take. Have you really never had a woman express interest in you?

My man, doesn’t this support my whole argument and go against yours? I am not in the top 20%, but when I have an active social life, I have no problem dating. Yes recently I haven’t gotten a date from the things I’ve been more involved in, but before I moved I did. I mean when I had an active social life I was usually hooking up with or dating someone. That’s the entire point of this post, most men could date women they’re attracted to If their lifestyle includes a social life where new women co…

What makes someone top 20%? If you’re right, I must be in that category. Which doesn’t seem right and I get rejected more often than not. I’ve had long dry spells where I felt like I’d be alone forever and women just didn’t like me. Sometimes my apps get nothing and It seems like I’m giving off a bad vibe or something when talking to strangers. Other times, it feels easy to meet people and i have more dating options. It’s not consistent. If it’s all about my sexual market value, shouldn’t it be …

Looks are necessary, but they’re a different factor. The woman I was most into is not the most attractive woman I’ve dated. Her personality and how I felt around her was different. It’s not just about checking boxes and stacking up to the perfect requirements. It’s much more about how you feel around eachother. Granted, looks absolutely have to be above a certain level. Let’s say attractiveness follows a normal distribution. The bottom will get nothing, the top will get a lot, the middle will ge…

Personalities work well together, physically attracted to eachother, feel good around eachother. Aligned goals & values. I went out with a girl recently who was, on paper, better than my last girlfriend. Attractive, sweet, smart, laidback. But I didn’t leave the dates hoping to see her again. She is a “higher value woman” than my ex in many ways. But I don’t think we’re compatible.

True - meet up groups that aren’t for a specific thing apart from general socialization means everyone there will only have loneliness in common. I’ve been to a few, it’s pretty sad. Better to join a group that does something.

Well my looks haven’t changed drastically in the last few years, but my social situation has. I moved from one neighborhood to another and went from a 6 month dry spell to 3 new girls the first week. I had an active dating life for about 3-4 months, started seeing one of them only and then that fizzled out and I haven’t been back out there since. If looks are the biggest factor, why am I having drastically different results depending on my social life? Why do I see normal looking dudes with wome…

I haven’t recently, but I have. The longer relationships I’ve had have been through school, work, and social events I was invited to. I’d say it’s simple, not easy in the sense that it takes work to develop an active social life after a certain age, but once you’re there it’s easy. You just don’t come across good relationship fits that often.

Sure some guys have really put themselves out there time and time again and have been met with mostly rejection. I’d say this is the tiny, tiny minority. Most haven’t even tried enough to honestly say they just get constantly rejected. If you’re actually trying and getting rejected, then you can re-evaluate how you’re presenting yourself and how you’re trying to meet women. There is a place for self improvement, but you have to think about why you’re rejected. For example, My success rate is way…

Idk about that. Seems to me like most of them think they’re not good enough for a girl to like them so they need to self improve then try again. It’s not the most delusional take, but it is kinda sad. Maybe im projecting but I see most guys struggling with dating are just normal guys that don’t have much of a social circle at the moment. If you rely on bars and apps, superficial things are more necessary to stand out and get a girls attention. But I don’t think it’s true that women are only pick…

Probably women just due to the difference in opportunity. I’ve never cheated & was cheated on by both my long term gfs. But If I had attractive women approaching me and trying to fuck me everytime I went out, I probably would’ve given in at some point.

Say it’s Friday night and you have 10 open invites to do shit with 10 different people but none of it seems that appealing to you, so you decline and stay in. Compare that to its Friday night and you really wanna go out but there’s nobody around. When nobody’s around you’ll wanna go out not just because you want to do the activity, but because you’re kinda worried about not having friends. Maybe having nothing to do on Friday is making you feel like a loser, and you question if you’ll ever have …

Good point, I am. I don’t know what other words to use, but the Venn diagram of beliefs between what I’ve recently been convinced is unhealthy attachment style & some RP tenets has a lot of overlap

Caveat: I’ve just started digging into attachment theory and haven’t poked holes in it yet, so I might be viewing this whole topic with some level of tunnel vision. That last paragraph is the fear of abandonment, textbook unhealthy attachment. Why do you think it’s so unlikely? Are you tired of trying and is giving up a relief to you? It sounds to me like you’re unhappy about this and you genuinely think women in the western world don’t value the traits you have that you find valuable. You might…

Yep. I saw a therapist for other reasons, she mentioned how insecurity could play a role in how I’d been feeling. I told her I didn’t think I was insecure. Then she pointed out all the things I’m doing with the mindset of “when I develop x trait everything will be ok”. Which then confirms that things aren’t ok as they are. She asked about dating history, talked about how I felt about my last relationship and how dating has been going now and she recommended I read up on attachment/insecurity. I …

Balance. Guys will be in the top 0.1% of physiques and still feel like the reason women don’t like them is they’re too scrawny or fat. I’m not arguing for complacency, keep doing the things that got you there. It’s like depression. Sometimes you’re depressed because your life is shit and you should be sad. Sometimes your habits aren’t conducive to feeling good. Other times your life is great and you have good habits but still feel depressed. That’s when it’s an issue. The other piece of the patt…

Your last paragraph is exactly why I think it can be so harmful to people with attachment issues or insecurity. It’s both a pessimistic view and a relief that you have accepted you’re not gonna get a good western woman because society made it that way. I have seen too many exceptions to this to believe it’s at all an accurate representation. The best woman I landed so far came around when I had no attractive traits. Scrawny, anxious, broke. But we had a good time together when we met, that’s all…

Sure some things in RP appear to be accurate generalizations, some are pretty clearly exaggerated to make the point. Take your case for instance, you say you’re 30 and haven’t had a relationship. Red pill will tell you that’s because you don’t stack up to Chad and western women are ruined. That will confirm your feelings of inadequacy, even if those claims are clear exaggerations. Do you really think RP has helped you? Not trying to make assumptions or put words in your mouth, but it doesn’t see…

That’s avoidant attachment, which is one of the 4 types in attachment theory.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/23 08:23 PM

Maybe red pill is good for people that don’t already have those issues, because you’re able to put it in context and you fundamentally know that while you have to be ok with women coming and going, you can still have a good relationship.

Why do you think you know what the rules are? Is it possible you’re wrong and have been misguided by things that allowed you to feel better about not playing the game?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/23 08:19 PM

True, maybe caused in the wrong word. But many of the tenets support attachment issues.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/23 08:18 PM

Of course there are traits that will stop you from being able to get a woman in any way. So it’s true that some people in their current state aren’t “good enough” for women. I’m saying maintaining that mindset when you’ve got your shit together for the most part could be self destructive
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/23 08:18 PM
2

This supports my point. You think you’re not good enough in womens eyes, confirmed by what you’ve taken from the red pill. Right?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/23 08:12 PM
3

I think this is the most positive thing I’ve taken from red pill. As I’ve been reading more about attachment, I’ve questioned how healthy some of the tenets are. What you’re saying is healthy, no doubt. But there’s also the “iron laws” that to me sound like they support unhealthy attachment in that it confirms you’re one misstep away from losing a girl
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/23 08:10 PM

In the real world it seems like guys that do well with women are the ones that are fun to be around. There are lots of nerdy dudes who make tech money and work out daily, but they're not gonna make anyone laugh. I've seen too many couch bums pull and "chads" struggle to believe women actually have these standards.

I throw out feelers and see how they engage. Yesterday a cute girl was in line for the bathrooms at a cafe, I said something about how all cafes around here have dozens of people drinking coffee and one bathroom. We talked about the neighborhood for a second and she broke eye contact and stopped talking to me. I see her at a table with her boyfriend shortly after. Nothing can improve your life like a good woman. I love them. A life without a good one around is pretty bland. I can bust a nut on my own. I can’t make myself completely forget about the shit I have to do or the things stressing me out. Women pull me into the moment.

Wouldn’t call it a deal breaker by any means, but in an ideal scenario she’d be a bit younger. Gives me a few more years to establish the relationship and get to know her before having kids. I’m 30 and typically date 22-27 range.

It’s only a paradox if you think sex is the same for men and women. If you think it’s different, a guy can have casual sex but only want to settle down with someone who doesn’t have a history of casual sex. I’m not into shaming anyone for anything they do, and if a girl didn’t want to be with me because of my sexual past, I’d respect that. If a girl had my sexual history, I’d be hesitant to be serious with her. Not that it could never happen, but I don’t see a man and a woman having casual sex a…

Wish I knew exactly what it was. We had a different connection. I mean she did break up with me so it wasn’t perfect, but I always liked being with her. Everything about her. Smart, witty, calming presence, caring, hot, sexually compatible, loyal. And we understood each other on a weird level. I haven’t met a girl that comes close. I mean I don’t check all those boxes but ya I think I have my shit together. I’m 30, good job, small apartment, college degree, hobbies, in shape, well groomed I guess, not completely socially inept but I don’t have a big social circle. I hang out with 2-3 people regularly. I also moved to a city where I knew nobody last year.

I’ve never been married, but had 2 long term relationships. In the first, I never wanted to break up exactly but I wished I had more freedom. In the second, there wasn’t even a hint of “grass is greener” mentality for 4 years. I think if it’s the right girl, the urge for freedom isn’t that strong.

I had this realization after 6 girls in 2 months. In the last year it’s been 8 total. 1 waitress, 1 bartender, 2 bar cold approaches, 1 tinder, 2 hinge, 1 bumble. Had more dates than that, mostly from apps.

For me it’s about the validation more than the experience. I don’t mind going a while without sex. But I do mind thinking I’m undesirable and won’t find a girl to start a family with. Not getting laid for a while can make me feel like I’m undesirable. When i realized that, my urge to fuck bar girls went down.

Apps and bars mostly. Takes effort and it’s not like every night. We’re talking like 8 women in the last year. But 6 of them were in 2 months. In that time I was going out every weekend, approaching often, and pretty active on the apps.

I don’t know why it’s not fun. It’s always fun leading up to it. Like the moment you make the move and you start taking clothes off, seeing them naked for the first time. That’s fun. But then the actual sex it’s just whatever. Then after I tend to feel weird about it like I’d rather just be alone now. And then if I don’t like hanging out with them I regretted bringing them home. Yeah man makes sense. Many girls would find my lifestyle a bit boring but I like it. But I only have 2-3 decent pics of myself. I think I look good in them but there’s nothing in any of my pics that make my lifestyle look appealing. Maybe if you don’t travel and do shit girls tend to find cool, OLD is gonna be less effective.

That's cool man. I think if I were that successful with OLD I'd be much more into the new city every few months thing. The first weekend out in a new city is a blast. Given my lifestyle & how I like to spend my time, I think I should really try to figure OLD out. How picky are you with the girls you go out with? I've had opportunities to go out with more girls but none I've been highly attracted to, and I think I prefer no date/sex over date/sex with a girl that doesn't do it for me. If a majori…

Being in a new city is cool, but damn dude every couple months? I like having roots, habits, and familiar faces. I definitely need to be better about fostering new friendships, idk why I don't want to. I like being alone, talking to acquaintances, being back home with my close friends, or being with girls. It seems like OLD is the way to go if you can make it work, but I can't seem to. Admittedly I have terrible pics, I need to sort that out.

Convos flow so much easier. I talk way less and only if I have something to say. I feel like I'm usually trying to impress the girl and maintain the conversation with stories or some shit. Some of it seems to just be how compatible you are with the person. There are some people I just can't talk to.
/r/seduction23/10/21 07:12 AM

I always thought that was bullshit. Like anything else, if you want something you take the steps to get it. But my experience seems to back up that advice. This was only one weekend, maybe it was a fluke and maybe nothing will come of any of this and I'll be sad and lonely again soon. It doesn't seem like I'm in control of how I feel about all this, and how I feel seems to dictate how women act around me. time will tell.

Again I wasn't able to do any of this on purpose. I've been filling my time with stuff I enjoy and have been having fun meeting people. I always felt like something was missing without a woman. I knew it was bad to think that way, but I couldn't help it. Then out of nowhere I realized that void/sense of dread was just gone. Always go alone and talk to strangers. I wrote how for most of it already but in short: One told me she spilled her drink and said she needed a new one and bought me one. Another said "hi, I feel like we're making weird eye contact", I said "I didn't notice", she said something like "well maybe it was just me checking you out". Another said something about my shirt, don't even remember, and two were talking to me while they ordered drinks next to me for their groups.

All this happened when I was out alone. Of course fitness helps, but it's more about the vibe. I see good looking guys in great shape out at the bars solo all the time, and they often have a really bad vibe. It's like you can tell they're lonely and dying to meet someone. Then you see other guys chillin with a drink solo and shooting the shit with the bartender or random people, and they seem like they're just out to have a good time.

A lot of meeting good women is random chance occurrences in my experience. I’ve seen no correlation between dating success and life success personally. When I was broke, dressed shitty, and didn’t have much going on I still had girls most of the time. Now I’m doing pretty well for myself and have the physique I want, but haven’t had many women in my life in a while. This has been pretty surprising to me honestly. If you look at my stats/lifestyle on paper you’d think I’m killin the game - but I’…

First jeans have that splotchy look and are too baggy, trainers are ugly. Second jeans are better but are too light for those shoes. Check out lucky brand jeans. Fit really well and have great color options. Find a middle ground between trainers and fancy shoes. No boat shoes. The nicer styled vans are my go to.

Talk to more attractive women until you realize looks aren’t that impressive. Being around a woman you’re really attracted to will change your state a bit. Today I met these two beautiful girls at a cafe and we shared a table while I was working. My hands were actually shaking a bit when I was trying to type - but I wouldn’t say I was nervous. After a few minutes of talking it settled down but attraction is a physiological state. You need that buzz to have sexual tension.

I try to keep plausible deniability. You could say I was being sexual, but if you say it in a different tone and remove the body language it could be more matter of fact. That’s the sweet spot I think. So I’ll try to say something that could be taken as “I want to fuck the shit out of you” or as “oh weird, I totally would’ve noticed you and said hi”. Let her figure out what the subtext is. I think I want the subtext/tonality to always be way more sexual than the words are. “You seem like a fun/g…

Rejection is not even a negative experience. I used to have that anxiety too, although I was more concerned with being intrusive and making people uncomfortable. Almost every person I’ve ever said hi to was friendly and open to a conversation. Men and women. We are built for connection. It’s in our nature to talk to people. I think the worst rejection I’ve ever had was two girls giving one word answers and looking like they want me to fuck off. So I said “pleasure meeting you both, enjoy your ni…

If an attractive girl came up to you and said hi would you think she’s creepy? No, you’d be stoked. Even if she was ugly you’d be flattered. I know it’s different but still - girls like to be approached the right way. It’s not creepy to go after a girl you find attractive as long as you can read social cues and will walk away if she’s not receptive. Stole this from Californication: If I walk up and say hi and she says “hi”, I’ll ask her name and go from there. If she looks confused and says “uhh…

I recently figured out that I kill sexual tension by trying to make the girl comfortable and kill the awkwardness. A girl I’ve seen around town and hit on said she saw me somewhere else. I said “I didn’t see you, you definitely would’ve caught my eye” and kinda looked her up and down. Normally I’d follow that up with “so what are you doing now” or whatever to kill the awkwardness. But this time I just shut up. The whole dynamic changed by letting the potentially awkward comment sit. In sales job…

Definitely don’t startle them, sometimes a head nod or raising your glass can give the opening, then just walk over and say hi. I dropped all lines and tactics and just talk to them. You’ve been seeing each other for 3 weeks. Yes this is normal. Imagine if you had attractive women asking you out left and right, how long would it take you to go exclusive? When you have the kind of options attractive women have, it doesn’t make sense to go exclusive until you see real relationship potential and you have a conversation about it. Keep dating around.

I think you can get attached to anyone you spend a lot of time with, but in my experience, chemistry or whatever is apparent immediately. Don’t underestimate how much your vibe plays into how a girl “rates you”. Be in shape, clean, smell good, have flattering clothes, good haircut, and give off a good vibe and you’d be surprised how far ahead of the game you are. Also girls find confidence and social skill attractive. Say you’ve been talking to another guy at the bar for an hour. All but a couple potentially violent situations I've been in were easily de-escalated by not playing the dick swinging game. If you can keep your adrenaline down, it's much easier to de escalate. Focus on values/principles, the corresponding behavior, and let the chips fall where they may. Example: One principle: Run towards fear Behavior: Approach a girl I'm nervous to talk to Outcome: Rejection or reciprocation Evaluation: Successfully did the thing I was scared to do. That's a W. She could call me a revolting loser that should've been aborted, or said "I would love to blow you, where's your car?". That doesn't get factored into my self-eval. Outcome independence.

General advice, do not double text. Sometimes even highly interested girls will not know what to say to a text and just let the convo die, only to initiate a conversation another day. If you do hit her up again, have a reason and give it a week or two.
/r/seduction19/09/20 07:19 PM

Not everything is political.
/r/seduction18/09/20 07:20 AM

Only if you take it personally. I get rejected all the time. So what? We all have good and bad days, sometimes I feel shitty about it. Especially when I’m interested, the girl seems interested, and then it dies. But you can’t live there. Being single isn’t a handicap you have to cope with. It’s a perfectly fine season of life.
/r/seduction17/09/20 01:08 AM
5

Best advice I’ve gotten: to be interesting, be interested. I spend a lot of time reading books about subjects I find interesting. When I meet people, I’m interested in them, so I’m asking them shit I want to know about them. When you spend a lot of time learning about diff things, it’s pretty common to find a topic that’s interesting to the person you’re talking to.
/r/seduction16/09/20 05:47 PM

There is nothing more repulsive than neediness. Gotta be genuinely happy without a chick before you'll get any. Women can smell it, you might think you're not doing anything to show neediness, but don't underestimate women's intuition. Focus on other shit and be bold when opportunities arise. Abundance mindset isn't feeling you could have any girl you want, it's realizing that men and women are evolved to want to be with each other, and there are billions of women. You're gonna be fine.
/r/seduction16/09/20 06:38 AM
1

One caveat: I’ve thought a couple girls were not interested at all because of how long they’d go without responding. When I did end up meeting up with these girls, they were very interested and never looked at their phone. Some people are better about being present in the real world vs sucked into the digital. So the safe assumption for late responses is that they’re not interested. But as always, just don’t take anything personally. Don’t double text but don’t feel disrespected or whatever

Only thing that helped me was pursuing women that seemed better than my ex. Few and far between, basically I was only shooting my shot to 9s. Two of em responded positively, I was fuckin shocked. Now I’m more focused on those girls and I don’t give a fuck about seeing my “unicorn” of an ex. Just a short, positive interaction with a “quality” girl did more for me than fucking mediocre girls when it comes to getting over the ex.
