I really appreciate your response, sir. This is the truth. As a woman who settled down relatively young, I had my fair share of less attractive men who led me on and broke my heart, whereas the handsome ones always turned out to be kinder. It isn't just a simple equation that ugly = good personality or attractive = player, especially if one tends to move in more conservative or religious social groups or communities. My husband is the man of my dreams and looks so gorgeous in my eyes, but he was…

I don't think so, I think women tend to invest in the hottest men and marry them. At least, that's what I did - my husband is 6'3, blonde, and a wonderful body and personality, and so gorgeous, I fell in love upon first seeing him. I've dated several hot guys, but I actively put my all into securing my husband.

I think men's personalities are the winning charms. A lot of not typically handsome men, like Tom Waits and Ed Sheeran, or Nick Cave or Robin Williams, were or are considered handsome, intriguing, fun, and kind, and had no shortage of women. I've dated "manly" but more traditionally unhandsome men - overweight, short, perhaps too hairy or no hair - but they made me laugh, and were kind! I think it's a lot harder for a women's personality or humor to overcome something like deformities or her obe…

Oh, that is so sweet OK! My husband is Hungarian so I tried to make a Hungarian mushroom stew for him with PAPRIKA and it was so good! Do you have a pierogi recipe I could try? It's so sweet you will pass on your tradition to your kids!

That's a hard choice! My husband is super attractive but shy, so he never approached women, women always had to approach him and would ask him out/date him. Other male friends of mine sometimes seem to get no attention when we are out! I feel bad for men, it sucks either which way - attention and shyness, or lack of attention at all. I wish more women made the first move. Idk why men still hit on me, I'm 29 and curvy as hell, maybe cause I'm blonde - definitely not stick thin or whatever. I've b…

Aww, that is my position too! I was pursuing a doctorate to be a professor, but academia was a bit too problematic to jive with me, so I quit at age 26 to be a consultant and hated it. Now, as we prepare to welcome kids into our lives... or maybe just more dogs???... it makes more sense for me to stay home. I adore cooking from scratch and homemaking, and pursuing writing. I found when I was working, my husband and I fought over silly things because we were too stressed to do basic tasks around …

I struggled with this just tonight! I'm an ENFP with zero introvert points and my beloved hubby is a quiet INTJ. I try to ask him questions about what HE wants to talk about, respect his space, and if I have to, maybe go distract myself by being in another room. I kind of just go on and on, and usually he loves to listen, but he sometimes needs some alone time. The upside is we aren't boring!

Oh friend, that is so encouraging! I maxed out at about 70k and never nearly had as much success. We are hoping to adopt or foster, or maybe have a biological child - I'm 29 and still working really hard on my writing to build a career, plus get down to an acceptable weight, but I'm not sure if we will have kids or just treasure my nephews and the lovely children of our friends! Congrats on the bouncing baby, kids are such blessings.

Hhahaha, yes, my parents are great, just very career minded. Honestly, being a tradwife is my dream, without all the white nationalism nonsense I've encountered in some of those spaces! I more like Alena Kate Petitt at the Darling Academy. I also love independent off-grid living, farming, and cottagecore blogs! Thanks guys!

I might just have to buy these! Hi Rosa! That would bother me a lot too! I'm in a similar boat - my husband and I both came into the marriage with quite a lot of money, but we combined finances the day we got married. I think a true gentleman would pay for everything, not just dates, even the mortgage! There's a bit of an age gap in our relationship (9 years) so I wasn't making as much, but my hubby got us a house six months into our relationship and while I helped with bills as I could, I was in grad school on a TAship, so it…

If I were single right now, and not married five years to a husband who got the snip, I'd go on a Lysistrata sex strike. Never slept around anyway. But now, even if I had a serious boyfriend, I'd wait til marriage, pop out a kid or two if I wanted, then have him get a vasectomy. This is hilariously dumb wtf lol.

I was just talking about this with my Korean bestie! She said, in South Korea, people are much more hesitant and romantic before sex, either waiting for marriage or more sexually conservative, so things like hand-holding and first kisses are treasured! I thought that was cute.

Hi! My husband is 9 years older than me - an older Millennial (38) and me (29). There are different cultural references. For the age gap reason, and a lot of others (I love working, and writing and art, and wouldn't have time for my hobbies), we decided to be childfree and devote ourselves to our nephews and friend's kids. But honestly, I know lots of people with 20 year age gaps that are pleased as pudding to have kids! I'd say, invest in life insurance for the husband as we have done, and max …

I met my husband when he was 32. He is sweet, kind, extremely physically fit and handsome, and very wealthy. But he has crippling self image due to a strict upbringing so is cripplingly shy around women. In their twenties, most of my single girl friends are trying to play the field! I wanted to settle down young (married at 26, met husband at 24, engaged after a year, moved in after six months of dating), but to be honest, most of my female friends either want men to pay for dates and spoil them…

Awwwww the Twincess Maker, I've toyed with the idea of being a stay at home mom if we have kids! I'd love that - not sure if we want kids or dogs, but I couldn't bear to part with kids! Will you homeschool? My husband was lovingly homeschooled and a lot of our friends do it, and my sister!

Hi LightOverWater! It is a type of steroidal medication that causes rapid weight gain from slowing down your metabolic process and messing up your hormones and thyroid, increase in appetite, and metabolic syndrome! It took me ten years, but I've made my peace with it - it's a life saving med so I'd much rather be happy, employed, married, and alive than sickly or well, you know, not alive!

Oh Tawny, that's so fun! I love birthday parties. My Muslim friend is having me over for Iftar tonight - it will be my first Iftar! - so I'm super excited - she is one of the most feminine, fun, and best cooks and housewife slash professors I know! Hi! I'm on some meds that made me gain a looooot of weight (over 100 pounds). I used to be 120 pounds, curvy, long blonde hair, cute face, blue eyes... but I was a bit wild and kind of weirdo leftist feminist and not very nurturing or feminine, or kind to men!!! I naturally just grew up and chilled out a lot in my twenties, and that's when I met two wonderful HVM, my first long term relationship of two years who I am still friends with, and my husband of six years - and I was a size 16, not 4! Aww thank you so much sweet Tawny~ Yes, that is so true, I love humanities and the art as well, and making sure he has intelligence in other areas really truly helps! I'm a science writer, so I tend to go more for engineers when I dated, or doctors! Different areas of expertise! And yes, he is my best friend - a great marriage! Hi! I'm 29F and have been married to a loving HVM wealthy, kind, amazing man for four years, together for six! We are both in Mensa, but I've always found it better to date a few IQ points above me - say 5! This is not to brag at all, I just find it a bit better because I am pretty nerdy/knowledgeable and need someone to keep up! I was pre-med and did grad school in science communications. Now work as a consultant. It was always a struggle with men who weren't on my level to connect, so I ended …

This is so unfair to the man. I don't understand why girls or guys ever string people along or play mind games - much less worry about "responding to a text to fast making me seem desperate." I never would have had a few good boyfriends and then married the man I loved young at 26 - celebrating our fifth anniversary - if I'd treated them like shit. Also this ladies' YouTube channel keeps coming up in my recommendations cause I like financial videos and fashion and femininity. She's sooooo weird!…

I've also always wondered if women are able to find more untraditionally striking, or unique looking, men, such as Tom Waits, or Ron Perlman, "handsome," if they have kind, attractive, or humorous personalities. Or the famous example of the fat funny guy like Jack Black getting the babe! I love handsome men, but a sense of humor or someone like Ron Swanson does it for me even more...

Hi Choice! My husband and I are in a more traditional marriage - both grew up Christian and are agnostic - and just had our five year anniversary. A lot of our friends, including us, who are happily married met in hobby groups, faith communities (us), book clubs, hiking or rock climbing groups, and avoided apps, which always were just so useless. Do you have any hobbies you think you could join a group with men and women in? My friend got into 3D modeling and met a lot of girls and guys there! I…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/22 08:55 PM

I took a few years off when my husband and I were first married to work part time and mostly be a traditional wife. I loved it! I'd say the best traditional marriages I know - Sikh, Islam, Pagan, Orthodox, Catholic, Anglican, Hindu - tend to never go to bed angry, love and value the man and wife for their complementary parts, and just find a balance of cooking and housework and employment. I found out I love to cook elaborate meals, bake like a fiend, and embrace feminine dress. I'm also pretty …

I love to brew him fresh pots of coffee before he wakes up, dress in cute vintage-aesthetic cottagecore dresses, wear perfume and do my hair, have fun making fancy meals in the kitchen, greet him at the door with a kiss, dote on him when he's home, bring him drinks and food in bed, massages, bake a lot (babka, anyone?) and I do it all in a cute little apron! I'm liberal but really love tradwife/traditional marriage values, even though we both work corporate jobs. I don't judge anyone who pursues…
