I get that however I’m saying in the circumstance of them bringing it to light without my questioning lol that’s happened to me a few times and immediately I lose interest (whether it’s true or not). For context - she had questioned me - I said around 20 or so. Shared some crazy stories about group sex on a dock, getting double blow jobs from our mutual friends (as we all lived in the same town growing up). Ect. To which she responded “WHAT! You’ve always been so wild, I’m not even surprised. I …

Haha well said - I like the potty training analogy. I will say it is irrelevant for me if it’s someone I’m just having fun with (agreed between both parties) or even someone I like a tad. It’s once I truly start to like them that I focus in on the number and question if it’s too high for the type of woman I want to commit too. How old are you if you don’t mind me asking?

Yes, I can agree with that - there is certainly reasons for them to downplay, no argument there. As mentioned, I typically wouldn’t trust a stranger or someone I just started seeing. I also don’t “ask”. Sometimes I find out due to other insinuations that led to the conversation. I also live in a fairly small town to where most people in the same age group know eachother. I guess there is pros and cons to that. If they are lying, ignorance is bliss. If they aren’t lying.. I still think 7 is too h…

They certainly could be lying and I’m sure plenty of them have. However I do believe that there’s also some people who provide genuine answers. I don’t lie, regardless if someone wants the answer I provide. I think some of it comes down to morales and being able to read if someone is genuine. Their behavior also says a lot about who they are. For example I wouldn’t take a strangers word as strongly as I would someone I’ve known for many years and witnessed how they behave. Example is my most rec…

Thank you for taking the time to provide your thoughts on this - I can agree with you that the data is flawed and that it is a result of social science. If people are answering based on what is acceptable, then wouldn’t the true numbers likely be higher than what’s reported? Or would you think people are over inflating? I acknowledge what you reference about those with low N count is likely less social and also more along the lines of insecure - which is certainly not what I want. I guess it com…

Good insight here - do you live in the US? I live in Georgia myself near university and would agree with most of what you said above. I’m 29 though and suppose that I should not have complained when I had someone who had been with 7 people lol I viewed it high - even though most of the people I know also are 10+

I'm sorry to hear of your experience, that is unfortunate and can create unneeded stress. I do agree with you that it's in best interest not to ask or try to find out. Seems like many enjoy the topic or casually bring it up, which is why I have repeatedly found out and then been turned off

If i had to guess, out west. I know in the U.S. that Utah is a religious state and claim to average around 1-2 partners ha

Well ironically, it's not typically a question I present to them. Just after enough time of hanging out or groups of friends drinking and talking casually / crudely, something gets referenced which leads into a conversation ha. I do agree that no good comes from it but I wanted to point out I'm not intentionally asking for this info. However once I hear the number they tend to throw out, I tend to lose interest.

Touche' I agree with all of this. I suppose I should clarify - I have dated some women who are very well rounded. Intelligent / educated, mature, patient, thoughtful. I've dated plenty who did not match the described criteria as well ha. However my point is regardless of how great and level-headed they seem, if I hear a number such as "10" I immediately get turned off. Rationally I feel that I'm near 30 years old and that the sheer number should not be my turn off (as the next girl will likely h…

What did you consider a "high" number

I think you hit the nail on the head. I find myself searching for things similarly. Talked with one girl and knew a couple of the guys who had been with her (I live in a fairly small town and am very active in the community). I told myself "if she had been with only half of the amount of people or if I didn't know them personally it wouldn't bother me". The last girl I was seeing as mentioned had been with less than half of the prior and they were in other states (from college) and yet I still f…

I can relate to an extent. My most recent partner had been with 7 people - All in the context of relationships. I have been with around 17 women. 9 of which were "talking / FWB" and then the rest being ONS - only 1 was a stranger, the rest were friends / acquaintances. All of the other women I've dated had more partners than my last gf but I found myself most bothered by hers for some strange reason. Even though I had been with over double the amount of people and had much more "promiscuous" sto…

Thanks for sharing. I have had experience dating both as well and can agree with that. What would you consider a "high count" and at what age? You noticed that they were absolutely different that the low count ones so I take that it was to the point that you noticed incompatibility or potential issues?

Agreed. I will say that it does seem a little one sided. Yes the two genders are wired differently but I am hesitant to say a man with a partner count of 20+ and a female with a count of 5; the woman would be the reason for divorce. I'm sure it can occur from both parties. It can also depend on an individual's morales. I have slept around but I've never once cheated in my life. Whereas a woman maybe never slept around but has cheated before.

Agreed here, I have seen the correlation between sexual partners and divorce rate. What I'm more stumped on is how to find said girls with such a low count. I think those reports state that after 2 partners the chances of divorce are drastically higher. The problem is, most people have slept with 1-2 people by the time they come out of highschool or enter college. I'm 29 years old and believe if I found someone who had 2 partners, they likely would not be compatible with me in other areas. I'm q…

Haha I hear that. Not much good really ever comes from knowing it. Seems like a catch 22 though as we live in a society where partying and sleeping around is very common. Especially once you get to my age of around 29-30 - college years were a wild time haha

Self-employed - I own two companies, both e-commerce related. And yes, you are welcome to destroy my views hah.Although I will say my views are quite open minded. I have casually dated throughout my 20’s (never committed) and had a lot of FWB. Nearing 30, I’m interested in dating someone a little more serious but I’m not interested in anyone who has gone through a promiscuous stage... aka, sleeping around, casual sex, drunk hook ups.

Worthless as in underreported? I live in Florida and it seems like majority of those I know are around 10-15. I know a couple around the 50 mark but they were extremists haha.

Facts. I do agree with this. However, is there ever a number / range that you view as a turn off or do you just disregard the number regardless

Heard that! I guess in curious as to what other deem “acceptable” if they’re going to pursue a relationship. Or do they never intend to pursue one? Haha

I’m sure that the surveys are skewed but for a frame of reference, they all factor similar numbers. It appears they are considering over the course of a lifetime. I agree with the younger being better for low count although this next generation coming up seems to be wildn’ out pretty hard. And as I near 30, I don’t intend to go pick up a 18 year old ha https://www.healthline.com/health/healthy-sex/average-number-of-sexual-partners#_noHeaderPrefixedContent https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thesun.…

I was curious as to what those from TRP thought of this topic. I put more focus on that topic than I probably should. Saw that the average person has 7-8 partners and that many countries “prefer” someone with 10-11 partners. Then I see TRP saying that 10 is promiscuous and a “plate”. So I find it interesting the difference perspectives.

Haha sanity is definitely an important one. What do you consider “obvious hoe”. Is it a number count or behavior?

I was curious as to TRP mentality of where individuals prefer to draw the line. You are correct that we would get a plethora of answers. However, I find it interesting that on here I've seen a vast amount say "anything over 5 I would never consider a relationship with" but then I firsthand experienced how easy it is to hit that number. In addition, I found it interesting that the "average is roughly 7" and that surveys reflect based on a case study that the "desired amount is 10-11" and that "an…

I can agree with this. From my own experience, that has been the case too. Often times low self esteem, irrational behavior / choices, ect. I guess maybe the million dollar question is - What is considered a high partner count? Is it a strict number or does it depend on age? 9-10 at 18 is a lot different than 9-10 at 30.
