This, unless you have kids, id start with mediator and lawyer is if required. The only one who wins in a divorce is the lawyer

Its been about 8 months for me and never felt better. You need to spend the first year loving yourself. Do NOT jump into a relationship. Only casual but no emotions. I hit the gym, travel solo n reacquaint with who i once was/can be, new job, first marathons. Meet new people and socialize. Really grow and love yourself. And THEN you can seek relationships after a year or two of self discovery. Also did therapy (try different therapists see a good match, dont rush it) Bedroom wise this is normal,…

I scanned through your essay, guess i missed that one hypothetical scenario. The only one who wins in a contested divorce is the lawyer. You know that.

Are you a lawyer? I didnt have one, ex and i are in great terms. I recognize it's rare but OP sounds like a similar situation. If there's no kids, shared assets, and no key disagreements, what would a lawyer be required for.

Hi OP, i was in a similar situation. We separated amicable, she got all the papers n drafted it, i reviewed it with her and we agreed on what the papers stated. We both have no kids n assets largely separated. We both went to court n submitted it together. Only thing we paid was the application fee like $300. Im in canada. If you had kids or shared assets that require untangling, then a lawyer would be recommended. If you guys have no kids or shared assets, id try filing jointly and if required,…

This was my experience. I thought i was a feminist going in until i learned what toxic feminism was. Im supportive of equality but i learned toxic feminism is fighting for benefits of both genders without accepting the sacrifices of either. Best partner is one who does not care about politics or feminist ideologies.

Minimum 2-3 year serious relationship. Youll know it's serious when you both have seen eachothers flaws and she accepts u for who u are, vs trying to change you. Also, if shes toxic feminist / liberal (emphasis on toxic) youll have a difficult time.

Well, it takes 2 to tango. I certainly wasnt an innocent victim. I know theres things i could have done better. To say its only one person thats the problem is rare.

This will sound super corny but i learned i am a good person (my ex was abusive), and that loving myself is a higher priority than for someone else to love me.

That's gaslighting. Dont let her fool your gut feeling. This is clearly emotional cheating at minimum.

Im sorry youre going through this friend. First i acknowledge this is real and it's not uncommon to feel this way, myself included. What helped me is to begin loving myself. My ex killed my identity and self confidence. I took a short solo trip to another country.. go for runs, gym, checkout places on my own, basically take myself out on dates. Once u love yourself, youll have compassion for yourself. And youll feel a desire to do everything u wanted to do. Thats when u know ur really turning a …

I think regardless of whether you did or didnt cook her eggs, whats more important is your reaction and energy. You cooked her eggs. Should u have? No. But even if u did, w/e this doesnt phase me, im indifferent of you, im just a gracious person even to shit people You didnt cook eggs. Shes mad? Just calmly explain u dont think u should if she doesnt help pickup the eggs Just respond calmly, she doesnt affect u. You do you.

Now is the time to focus on yourself. Reflect on yourself. Accept and love yourself amidst your shortcomings. Now is not the time to be in a relationship. Now is the time to grow and mature as a man and learn from your mistakes. Focus on your health (physical mental emotional even spiritual) and career.

Would a prenup help prevent losses in a 2nd divorce?
/r/Divorce_Men16/08/25 06:53 AM

Yup. If shes moving out, she finds her way out. Youre no longer her partner, let her figure it out, but be calm, dont refuse her ask with any bitterness or joy. Be even keel.

Stay absolutely away. Shes not healthy for you. Make the decision to cut it now and begin your own healing journey and focus on building the better version of yourself. You sound desparate, anxious, and dependent on her. She sounds like shes moved on and slowly ending things. Id rip the bandaid and start focusing on yourself without her.

Did you guys have house maintenance (fixing stuff, bills, prepping for each season). If so, who handled it? If it was u taking care of the house, youre the landlord and will continue to have to fix and pay for plumbing leak. Broken laundry machine. Etc. Shit that her and her new man break.

Thank you. Needed this inspiration at this time. Wife just moved out as we're clearing the house. Dead, lifeless, long echoes in the house. Didn't know this threat existed but I know God is speaking to me in your post. Thanks.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
