I only support it in extreme circumstances like that. In no other case would I support the draft. Trust me, I know what it feels like to lose male family members who were conscripted to war and got killed. But, I also know what it's like for my people to get ethnically cleansed as well with the world not giving a shit, so I do recognize its necessities at points.

As they should, those countries are very close to being wiped out of existence. Of course, conscripting women would be good too but only around 1% of them passed the physical requirements test, so it would be hard to get them into combat. Maybe secondary roles.

Ok but in countries like India, Armenia, and Azerbaijan they are massive problems. And regardless, the mere fact that they had to forbid doctors and nurses from revealing the sex of the fetus shows that they value male life over female life.

They're not "financial slaves," let's not go that far. Either way, men are still cared for more and even in America, if I'm not correct, parents still typically prefer to have male children.

Could you send me these studies by any chance? I would really be interested to take a look at them. Edit: I just found one of yours, it didn't say anywhere that men and women had the same work but it did say that women were subjectively rated better. However, it also said that men have higher promotion potential.

It entirely is context-dependent: for example, men are typically seen as better leaders, men are more likely to be seen as competent/intelligent, more capable of work, etc. So, the effect isn't really that ambiguous.

Well, that depends. In many countries, people obviously care more about men than women. Look at the rate of sex-selective abortion in countries like China, India, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. How would that indicate that we care more about female life?

I agree with your overall point about this male privilege thing being nonsense, but take into consideration that a lot of these points aren't necessarily 'privilege' for one group or another. Men live shorter lives than women, everywhere Though this is the case, it is unclear whether this is due to mistreatment or not. It may be just biological reasons as it has been proven that Y chromosome is disadvantageous. 81% Murder victims are men https://tinyurl.com/dcp3nams I'm not sure how this is a pr…

I don't think men have a harder life because of their gender. Both sexes have issues and your daughter will likely face many difficulties because of her gender as well. No matter who you raise, they will face difficulties because of some arbitrary characteristic. I think the best thing to do is teach your sons and daughters how to overcome these difficulties and persist through suffering. (Credit to existentialist philosophy)

Powerlifting is great: you set a goal and try to achieve it. Want a 500 lb deadlift? You work towards that goal. Want a 400 bench? You work towards that goal. One of my lifelong goals has been to pull 700 lbs and I've been working like hell to get towards that goal. It's much better than simply chasing off of mindless aesthetics and physiques on YouTube in hopes of pleasing someone, whether that be gym bros or girls. Also, just a pro tip: focus on compound lifts over anything else. Your routine …

It doesn't mean you will "automatically be treated more favorably" than an Indian or black man. Most of this comes down to class. A rich Indian or black man will surely be treated more favorably than a poor white guy. That's just indisputable. Also, the whole "black men being hunted down by police" thing has been repeatedly disconfirmed by the empirical literature. A thorough analysis of crime rate data using multiple sources and estimates from victimization surveys uncovers that when controllin…

Ok, I understand and respect your position entirely. However, I think the word "privilege" is vastly overgeneralizing. It implies some sort of legal or binding right given to one person but not another. Like, having a sibling who has the privilege to go out with their friends but another doesn't because they're too young. People have all sorts of statistical advantages. Tall privilege, attractive privilege, two-parent privilege, etc. Should people have to acknowledge all of those privileges? Thi…

Telling people tha their issues don't matter because they're done by people who have similar genital structures as them is fucking ridiculous. It's victim blaming. If I'm getting assaulted or killed by someone, I could give two shits what their gender is. A victim is a victim no matter the perpetrator.

We really need to stop stooping down to their level. I'm sick of the whole concept of "privilege," it's like original sin. When people say "white privilege" "male privilege "cis privilege" etc. I find it just insane. The idea that you can target entire groups of people with a collective crime regardless of the innocence or guilt of any individual within that community, there is nothing that's more discriminatory than that. In the 1920s and 1930s, communists like Lenin took people who were kulaks…

There are plenty of negatives. Pain and Trauma - Circumcision and chest tube insertion are considered to be the most painful procedures faced by patients in the neonatal intensive care unit. Topical and local anesthesia do not eliminate circumcision pain. Researchers conducting a study on circumcision found that “every newborn in the placebo group (and thus not receiving anesthesia) exhibited extreme distress during and following circumcision.” Circumcision also interferes with boys’ sleep cycle…

Glad to know that the American public is more supportive of genital mutilation that removes half of the skin on the penis, threatens bodily functions, is extremely painful to the point of causing PTSD amongst some infants, and is irreversible over a piercing that does not remove any tissue, reversible, doesn't threaten bodily functions, and causes minimal pain because one is done on males and the other done on females. This is beyond male disposability.

That's simple protocol when events like this occur. If there was some dude targeting elderly people, elderly people would be advised to stay inside. That's how it works, my dude. I don't know why women have to interpret everything as an attack against them. Women are FAR more likely to be victimized than men are to be perpetrators of violence so advising people to stay at home males way more sense than forcing people to stay inside. Make sense? I really like Aba and Preach, they real af and they're probably the largest platform of bringing men's issues to the table, that's probably one of the main reasons why they have so many subs cause men don't have anywhere else to find outlets to talk about their issues without being demonized and mocked

There's even more that is in common. Blacks were forced, via slavery, to risk their lives in cotton fields so that whites might benefit economically while blacks died prematurely. Men were forced, via the draft, to risk their lives on battlefields so that everyone else might benefit economically while men died prematurely. The disproportionate numbers of blacks and males in war increases both blacks’ and males’ likelihood of experiencing posttraumatic stress, of becoming killers in postwar civil…

The female equivalent to circumcision would be removing the clitoral hood only. This is also illegal in the United States along with the 'ritual nick' done on girls which does not remove any tissue and does not cause any long-term harm.

Dude, I literally just explained this to you. If you define it as less than 5% of the commonly accepted definition of FGM, then you are being dishonest and playing off of the most horrific form of it as your definition in order to overinflate what it is and influence actual law by casually switching between two very different things, namely the “colloquial” definition and the universally accepted medical and legal definition which includes exponentially less severe procedures. Also, there is a h…

If you define it as less than 5% of the commonly accepted definition of FGM, then you are being dishonest and playing off of the most horrific form of it as your definition in order to overinflate what it …
/r/MensRights25/02/21 01:42 AM

Find me one source that says that the colloquial definition of FGM is EXCLUSIVELY full clitoris removal. In every definition of FGM, it’s classified as every form of medically unnecessary female genital cutting. If the US and WHO define FGM as that, and every country that makes it illegal defines it as that, then that is the common colloquial understand of it. We agree on this issue, so why are you trying to be bad faith and provoke an unnecessary argument?
/r/MensRights25/02/21 01:11 AM
7

No, they don't. What you mentioned is clitoral hood removal which is COMPLETELY different from removal of the clitoris. The WHO considers labiaplasty, clitoridectomy, pricking, the ritual nick, etc. all to be FGM. The United States treats any form of medically unnecessary female genital cutting as illegal and criminal, full stop. Why are you being so dishonest and bad faith?
/r/MensRights25/02/21 12:00 AM
7

A clitoridectomy is partial removal of the clitoris and the only form of complete removal of the clitoris which is medically possible is done on intersex children (which is legal by the way). And please find me a source which says that complete removal of the clitoris is the only type of genital cutting that FGM is referring to colloquially.
/r/MensRights24/02/21 11:20 PM
8

No, any form of medically unnecessary female genital cutting is considered FGM. Also, you can't remove the clitoris of a woman fully without killing her. The clitoris is an internal organ, so it's pretty much impossible to remove it. Even partial removal of the clitoris or "infibulation" are procedures that take up less than 10% of FGM and are usually confined to the Horn of Africa. By far the most common is the partial removal of the clitoral hood or the "ritual nick" which does less damage tha…

And when men kill their female partners (every two hours in the U.S) they get 2-6 years on average. A woman killing her male partner (rare) gets 10-15 on average. In fact women get harsher sentences when they commit the exact same crime against their partners. This is false. “There is also no support in the empirical literature for the feminist claim that society is less accepting of partner violence perpetrated by women than by men. In fact, national and community surveys have found far greater…

Part 2 Are more likely to be in positions of power in politics and face no discrimination when running for political positions due to gender. This is also not the case for women. When women run, they have just as much chance of winning as a man. This has been found by “study after study”, according to a 2012 report from the Women & Politics Institute at American University (see also this 2008 report). Masculinity is the valued trait, femininity is despised and seen as "lesser." Not necessarily t…

Part 1 Though I do believe that male privilege exists, the vast majority of what you have stated is incorrect. Not facing institutionalized sexism They do face institutionalized sexism. Multiple studies have indicated that men (and minorities) get significantly harsher sentencing than their counterparts. The criminal justice system is as institutional as it gets. Institutional sexism has been identified in the police force as well. Studies have consistently found that men are more likely to be s…

A victim is a victim no matter the perpetrator. The majority of people doing FGM in Africa are women, are girls suddenly not victims now? The majority of crime against African-Americans are done by other African-Americans, does that mean they are no longer victims because of some arbitrary characteristic of their oppressor? It would be ridiculous to claim so. Also, it's extremely doubtful that men "created ALL of the problems they face today." It is also caused by women, too. Women are not just …

That'd definitely be interesting to add. I want to mainly focus on studies and scientific research when doing this, but I could definitely add workplace fatalities and genital cutting as a part of male disposability.
/r/MensRights03/02/21 05:49 PM

That would mean, though, excluding prisons, women are still the majority of slaves (55:45), correct? Though yes, it is quite terrible that 94% of child trafficking victims are male? Are there any similar statistics for adult trafficking victims? It also said in the source that you sent me that 2/3 of reported child trafficking victims are girls and that only 23% of trafficking victims are children.

Interesting, thanks for all this info! I will definitely take at these. While this is true, it is important to note that there wasn't as much of a historical precedent for male oppression as there was for black folks. There wasn't gendered slavery of men by women. Fighting for a right you think you should have like not being circumcised is fine. But circumcision is objectively a medical practice that has clear medical benefits. It never was used to subjugate or control men and it wasn't a right you were being denied bc you were male. It's simply a standard proceedure to help prevent the spread of STIS and infections under the foreskin. Yes. Because women are seen as less dangerous. Because they ARE. Do you see what I'm saying?? Bc men commit more crime overall, they are judged more harshly. Lmao, I kept trying to explain this to him and he just ignores it and repeats the same line. You just can't converse with certain kinds of feminists.

I agree and I stated that on the comments. It’s just that this feminist thinks that men have no problems and women are these poor, little oppressed ones. It’s not a competition to see who has it worse, as that is counterproductive. Telling this to feminists gets them mad, so it’s really hard to know what to do.

Your argument could be used to justify or deny sexism against women across the world. "In Liberia, men are more likely to be educated than women. This cannot be the case, otherwise no one would know!"
/r/MensRights01/10/20 11:34 AM

Of course they're aware of it. That's like saying that women actually had the right to vote because everyone was aware of it.

Again with the trolling? I just told you those were accounted for in the two studies done on that, and the rest were about test grading itself. When a teacher finds out that a student is a boy, his grade is put 1/3 lower.

They did take into account behavior and class participation. Also, this was on test-taking. Boys and girls write the exact same answers, and girls get a better grade. It's just a fact. Deny and troll all you want, but the research has been done.

Female advantage in education due to discrimination has been documented in multiple different studies (including the one you just sent)! https://www.tes.com/news/teacher-stereotyping-means-higher-marks-girls-says-oecd https://doi.org/10.3368/jhr.48.1.236 https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0272775718307714 https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/53aa/2ac 0b60df7e48c9c4b12806c7219d4e1257a.pdf https://www.aeaweb.org/articles?id=10.1257/app.20140022 https://doi.org/10.3102/0002831210372…

All extralegally relevant factors include mental health as factors. Once again, most of the time people with mental illnesses are not put in jail, but rather asylums and other mental health facilities. Also, one of the studies was a meta-analysis of mock juries, so mental health would have nothing to do with it.

I don't believe so, but usually mental health problems don't result in jail time. Rather, people are usually sent to asylums or mental health facilities. These studies specifically mentioned people who got jail time and no other interventions (say mental health), so mental health differences are probably not going to play a statistically significant role. Also, mental health is an extralegally relevant factor, meaning that they were controlled for in the studies.

One of the studies was a meta-analysis of mock juries that had the exact same crimes for men and women and found that it was advantageous to be of high socioeconomic status, white, female, and attractive. "A meta‐analysis of experimental research on mock juror judgments was conducted to assess the effects of physical attractiveness, race, socioeconomic status (SES), and gender of both defendants and victims to test the theory that jurors use characteristics that are correlated with criminal beha…

Nope, they were adjusted for the severity of crime and damage done. The papers I cited each controlled for all legally and extralegally relevant factors.

All of these studies were adjusted for severity of crime and mental health problems. It is unanimously accepted that females get lighter sentencing for the same crime as men by social scientists and criminologists.

Exactly, the point is they don’t want you to start your own damn movement. They want to shut it down in order to avoid talking about issues that disproportionately affect men. When they only focus on women’s empowerment and women’s issues and tell men to start their own “damn movement” then they’re not in favor of equality. Sorry, scratch that. They’ve never been in favor of equality. Only special rights and privilege.

It is a gender issue just as it is a race issue. I know it makes intersectional feminists uncomfortable, but the lifetime risk of being killed by police in men is almost 20x as high at it is for women even though men are more likely to be compliant.

Women are NOT given harsher sentences, thats contradicted by different studies you don’t care to look at. You did not look at my post, which I spent hours researching. You don’t care about equality, you just care about looking like a victim so everyone can feel sorry for you. All the evidence suggests that men are oppressed, and women are privileged, and you don’t care for men’s issues. Read my post and the studies I mentioned or fuck off.

Read my post for fuck’s sake. Men are raped more than women when you account for prison rapes. Also, a victim is a victim no matter the perpetrator. You also have no evidence that women are punished worse for killing men. None. Women are privileged in like 40 different areas, please read my fucking post. Of course you don’t because it will change your narrative that we live under a patriarchy. Women are WAY, WAY more privileged than men. The data and studies are crystal clear.

Men are murdered and raped more than women, by the way if you cared to read my post. Also, studies have found that people see men killing their wives as worse than wives killing their husbands. People are 3x as likely to give severe electric shocks to men, and men are more likely to be sacrificed during times of crisis, etc... (if you read my post instead of ignoring it) Why do you not want to address my post? I just showed you how privileged women are in this society, and you choose your stupid…

It’s for the same crime. Can you read? Also, no source for what you just said. What’s worse: successful suicide or attempted suicide? Yes, they do. Please read the original fucking post instead of saying things that are contradicted by all the other studies which say they don’t. I’m literally begging you: read my original post. Boys suffer because teachers prefer girls; it’s not so they grow up faster; what kind of bullshit is that? Girls get As and boys get Cs for the exact same work. That has …

Men receiving capital punishment for capital murder and women getting out of it is patriarchy? Are you stupid? The studies are dead clear; there is a bias against men in the criminal justice system. This is a unanimously agreed fact. Men commit suicide 4x as much as women; obviously if you shoot yourself in the fucking head, you’re gonna die. Drugs don’t do shit. Society cares about women more, that’s why. So thanks for proving my point. Bullshit. Look at the studies, which show that girls get p…

So, let me get this straight: when men benefit from privilege, it's patriarchy, but when they suffer and get horrifically treated, it's also patriarchy? I could use that logic as well: we live under matriarchy. The reason why? Women get lighter sentences, commit suicide less, less likely to be homeless, less likely to be drug-addicted, receive special treatment in the government, biased towards in the education system, etc... When women suffer through "rape culture," it's part of matriarchy beca…

Where's your evidence that they report it equally to surveys? Men are 2.5 times less likely to report rapes. You're a complete idiot. Also, why did you run away from the thread where I owned you on the fact that over 900,000 inmates that were raped are male?

Reported to surveys, you dumbass.
