Our school had a big risk management conference with all of the presidents, risk management chairs, and anyone else who wanted to come. We went over the pooled insurance, etc. A funny thing that came up though is that insurance companies came up with a list of the top 5 or 10 most risky things to insure. I don't know if you read the article, but it definitely talks about how alphas are calm and collected even in situations that would stress out others, because they are confident that they can handle whatever is coming their way. Betas believe that they have to be the loudest, or the toughest to get their way. I found this article on a website that promotes self defense by being aware of dangerous situations and avoiding them instead of just flying to arms and getting yourself shot over a wallet. I thought that it was very interesting because I know a lot of guys who consider themselves 'alpha', but who are really just beta's trying to act alpha by being overly macho and aggressive.
