because we now choose feels over reals for "the greater good"

None of those organizations seems very interested in addressing men's issues, especially not when there's a conflict of interest with current women's privileges. For example XY has a category men's and fathers' rights, which contains dozens of articles, but not a single of these article is actually about men's rights or fathers' rights. They're exclusively tirades against men's rights groups and fathers' rights groups, which supposedly are all evil, for example because: The fathers’ rights movem…

i don't actually believe you would see it the same way if it was a women doing it to a guy. there's just no point in arguing about it, you can claim whatever you want here, it's hypothetical.

I can honestly say that it would still be an issue with me. me too, But even I* wouldn't use this as justification to message everyone on girl-Orange's friends list and warn them of that creepy she-monster. * And I try to apply the same standards to women's and men's behavior, whereas Blue apparently expects a whole lot less from women, and judges men more harshly. So if I wouldn't do this, Blue would definitely not do this if Orange was a woman.

Orange is a creepy asshole. Orange is mostly a selfish prick. If Orange were a girl, using the exact same manipulative methods to get a guy in a relationship to cheat on his GF, you would see this whole thing very differently. Your anger would probably be directed at the guy that girl-Orange manipulated into cheating, rather than against girl-Orange. Seems to me like you judge men and women by very different standards; I'm not sure if that makes you sexist against men, sexist against women, or b…

If orange was a woman, she's still trying to steal someone's SO. But Blue would have never sent 1000 messages to warn guys how creepy girl-Orange is, and even if Blue had done that, TBP would have been angry at Blue and defended girl-Orange, and instead of taking the "creep" accusations at face value the 1000 guys being messaged would have thought Blue is a jealous weirdo spreading lies.

I wonder, does TBP realize there are plenty women who seduce guys in relationships with the same methods? The same "manipulation" works on guys to make them cheat on their GFs. But it really only works on guys who aren't 100% in the relationship anyway, same is true for women. I usually find TBP pretty ok, given the large amount of SRS here, but this seems like a pretty big double standard. Could it be that Blue is more angry at Orange for being such a dick to that girl's BF? Or does Blue truly …

what does it matter how some people use it? it's most people who use it. the people who use it properly are very rare. That's not how patriarchy is defined in science you mean in pretend-science You are literally contradicting yourself here, not really, my point is pretty clear

no because they might as well be different terms. If you use "rape culture" to describe issues in prisons it's completely different from using it to describe a "feminist" misinterpretation of "blurred lines." If you use "patriarchy" to describe autocratic rule by the male family head that's completely different from using it to describe "women aren't interested in working 70 hour weeks as often as men." If you use "institutional oppression" to describe apartheid that's completely different from …

The normative sociologists you probably mean are more interested in agitation than understanding. In fact they usually hate actual sociologists who take the idea of social science seriously and put their efforts towards understanding society. example The terms you quoted above can be and have been applied in ways that make sense, but the way they are used most of the time they're just rhetorical tricks, nothing scientific about it, they're anti-understanding.

They'll always try to only link to bad examples of the MRM.. I think feminist attacks against the whole movement have another positive effect: they force MRAs to clean up their shit - get rid of the segments that fit the negative stereotypes.

Sure I do. "SRS satire" isn't really satire.

True, but it's hard to say how many subscribers aren't abandoned accounts. IIRC back in late March SRS mods claimed to have banned about 8000 accounts from SRSPrime. At that time SRS had a subscriber count of 11000.

SRS satire, where you find something so awful that you do it yourself all the time. Generally it's called hypocrisy.

It's important to remember that there are 25,000 of us now. most of those are dead or duplicate accounts. throwaways don't unsubscribe. About 2,500 users have commented within the last 45 days on an SRS sub.

I'm not a guy. And you're pretty bigoted for someone who claims to fight bigotry. Lesbians are lesbians because they're sexually attracted to women, not because of some feminism bullshit or stalkers.

Mine? I only brought the woman-hate out in the open, No, you only create a straw man. That woman-hate is mostly in your head.

Go back to your false flag SRS smear /mens_rights, or better yet: stop smearing people for disagreeing with you.

explain to me why there aren't more MRAs who starting having sex with men instead of women. After all, if men areas oppressed as you say, the only thing good enough for them is another man, right? Is that how you think women become lesbians? Wow.

I agree with you that /MR goes overboard painting the worst of feminism as representative of feminism overall. But it does seem like the loudest and most politically influential feminists today are of those worse kinds.

Like I said in my other comment: while I'm sure there were some accounts like that - though I'm not sure any came from /MR - they couldn't keep it up for long. Either they stopped by themselves after a few days, or they were banned for getting too extreme (in the wrong direction).

I would assert that MRA trolls have infiltrated SRS and worked their way into the upper echelons of the SRS movement, encouraging the level of extremism that would push most redditors (and more people in general) away from their stated causes. There were a few "fake" SRS-ers that I suspected made intentionally extreme/insane comments, but none could keep it up for longer than a few days, some were even banned because they went so obviously overboard. If you have any examples of accounts you susp…

I disagree, but whatever you want to call it, I think it's an interesting enough aspect to warrant mention. Wonder how many upvotes of fucked up comments, and how many offensive comments are actually from radfem fanatics afraid of their cult losing ground to more egalitarian views.

Uh yes, look at the posting history. MRAlly makes fun of MRAs all the time, when he/she isn't pretending to be one.

That I do, but that could just be other SRS-ers. And I kind of suspect half of r/MensRights are trolls anyway. Can't believe half the stuff I read here.

I have a pretty good idea what SRS is and isn't. SRSDiscussion has some intelligent threads, but it's like trying to discuss ethics in a Koran school.

Ah sorry, I deleted my comment after I noticed that half the MR people in this thread are just as bad as /SRS. I'm still trying to figure out if OP is trolling or crazy?
