Weekend check-inI’m not sure. I think the problem is I keep talking to people but I don’r know if there is a solution and maybe I am partly grieving that. I feel a little better this morning other than the swollen tongue. | /r/MenSupportMen | 22/01/22 05:16 PM
Weekend check-inI tried to hang myself tonight with a cheap rope. I was trying short drop suspension. I didn’t start to black out at all but a sort of disturbing peace came over me confirming that I have nothing to live for. I don’t want to be here anymore. | /r/MenSupportMen | 22/01/22 10:53 AM
Weekend check-inI'm less stable recently, but it seems like I am identifying triggers and what not more easily. I mostly am struggling with regret now. Regret that I got to my age without really healing or doing enough to take ownership of my life. Thinking about missing out on the possibility of having a family of my own and stuff is getting to me more lately. Well, not having my stuff together for my age. No investments, career that might be ending soon in a layoff, etc. There are folks who get out of prison … | /r/MenSupportMen | 22/01/22 02:58 AM
Weekend check-inThanks a lot. Working on the long run is hard when in this mental state, but it’s definitely something I could do. I do have some tutorials and other projects I want to work on after I complete my degree. Stuff that will help me do better in interviews and will make my resume look better. Long term, getting out of tech into something else would be nice, but that might change as I build up more confidence. I used to live for tech stuff. Working at a place where no one seems to believe in me did a… | /r/MenSupportMen | 04/01/22 08:28 PM
Weekend check-inYeah. I know another person won’t fix things and that I should be healthy before attempting anything. My problem is always being too broken so I don’t bother. Or avoid people and just feel worse. Believing there is something fundamentally wrong with me that makes me unlovable has been a core issue for me. I was talking to my therapist about it a few weeks back and he was trying to think of a way to address it since it is so core to my self identity. Like affirmations and those things work tempor… | /r/MenSupportMen | 04/01/22 05:47 AM
Weekend check-inYeah. I just have my capstone project and I am done. I have been in and out of school for years and could never decide what I wanted to do when I grow up. I am almost done with a BS in Software Development and may look at getting a Master’s in CompSci or something like that. I do a few things but my role used to be a build engineer. Some tasks have been taken away over the years so I don’t do as much design and what not as I used to. I still do some automation and help with keeping changes going… | /r/MenSupportMen | 03/01/22 09:25 PM
Weekend check-inMostly finish school and find a new job. My job has been in this slow mo ending state for close to a year now. My boss keeps telling me not to worry, but I am training folks overseas how to do everything I do now pretty much. I have been having this fear I will never be good enough to find something else and will end up homeless. The other thing is losing weight. I went into depression mode pretty bad during the pandemic and fell back into my food addiction habits. I definitely want to get back … | /r/MenSupportMen | 03/01/22 08:17 PM
Weekend check-inLoneliness is a killer. I learned to cop with abuse growing up by withdrawing and trying to stay hidden or not make waves. It’s been hard to fight that programming to learn to open up around people. And it seems like the more lonely you are, or the less time around people the less others want something to do with you. Some of that is mindset and some seems to be how I am perceived. Social skills are something that can wane if you don’t use them much. My lack of trying to get a relationship and t… | /r/MenSupportMen | 03/01/22 08:08 PM
Weekend check-inI have. It’s really embarrassing but it was about a conversation I had with someone a couple of months ago that seemed o confirm the worst things about myself. It was with someone connected to something I was seeking out as a source of hope. That made it more extreme for me. Like conforming every worst thing about myself and that things will never get better. | /r/MenSupportMen | 03/01/22 08:04 PM
Weekend check-inYes, I think the difficulty in making connection definitely got harder. At least in person. Edit - I am feeling a bit better in the last day or so. A tiny bit hopeful about things or that I can handle what might be upcoming. | /r/MenSupportMen | 03/01/22 08:02 PM
Weekend check-inI’m feeling broken and like I am at the end. I don’t know if I can keep finding reasons to keep on going. I’m having a crazy brain sort of night. | /r/MenSupportMen | 01/01/22 09:00 AM
Anyone reads Mark Manson? Recommend him?I really liked Models. I'm going to be revisiting it here soon with a support group I am in. I wasn't as impressed with the "Subtle Art", but we will be revisiting that one, as well. I haven't read too many of his blog posts. I'm not sure I'm ready to move into the dating world yet, but there was a lot of good stuff on inner development that I liked. | /r/ExRedPill | 06/12/19 07:30 PM
Are redpillers just more complex reversed nice guys?I’m not sure about reversed, but maybe overcompensating based on the nice guy idea of what women want or what they think is successful. It’s very “women only want assholes, so become an asshole”. | /r/ExRedPill | 15/11/19 04:17 PM
What type of people are most likely indoctrinate to r/TheRedPillGuys with codependency issues and most likely issues with not enough positive male presence and an overbearing mom. A lot of it seems like an extreme overreaction to the nice guy syndrome. I didn’t get too far into it but part of the appeal was looking for more sources of info for someone like me who didn’t grow up with a father or any positive male role models, plus loads of childhood trauma baggage. The PUA aspects never appealed to me. If I want to meet women it is for a long term relationshi… | /r/ExRedPill | 12/11/19 09:03 PM
There is nothing I can do.It sounds like you are really depressed. Addressing that and your mindset about how you view yourself would probably be your best bet. It’s also helpful to keep the focus on improving for yourself. I haven’t ever really put in the effort to meet women and a large part of that was seeing myself as someone women would never want. I just decided to not try. But I’ve been working on how I view myself and clearing out a lot of the effects of childhood trauma. I still want to work on some other things… | /r/ExRedPill | 12/11/19 08:54 PM
How do you guys deal with hypergamy?I think moving away from the AWALT mindset would be a start. Shawn T Smith wrote a book called “The Tactical Guide To Women” that goes into a bit of detail on traits to look for in women. The title is kind of dumb, but it’s pretty good. It’s mostly about looking for traits of to look for like maturity in dealing with problems, avoiding bpd/npd traits, making sure your core values align, etc. he does talk about the risk of divorce but does believe that it’s worth the risk and that there are great… | /r/ExRedPill | 10/11/19 12:08 AM
I dont know what to do anymoreI’m working on dealing with self hate right now. It took me a long time to find out about childhood trauma. I’ve learned to like myself a lot more since working with a trauma specialist and joining support groups like ACA. I think a lot of the bitterness people can get is from learning how to be “the nice guy” or “good boy” to manage or placate parents and then learning you can’t win love like that. Other you act in and hate yourself, or act out and hate the world or women/men, etc. I didn’t spe… | /r/ExRedPill | 09/11/19 11:52 PM
Everything Wrong With Red PillThat’s a pretty good video other than it being a bit dramatic at times. | /r/ExRedPill | 21/10/19 07:35 PM
Found an original Tinder profile!!! 🙄I love the “be original” after a profile that looks like it was copy pasted from sort of template that everyone uses. | /r/WhereAreAllTheGoodMen | 23/09/19 03:22 AM
