I think it's hard for me to envision the kind of man who would put up with this treatment Self-hating, no self esteem or backbone. Interestingly, most women view this type of overly nice guy behavior as a huge turn off.

She's going to do just fine. She's very attractive, fit. She works as a sales rep which means she's likely very outgoing and social. Guarantee she has 1,000+ messages in her In-box. There is no way she struggles meeting men.

Let's not forget the gaslighting part to this and how it compounds the lies. When women (mothers, teachers and other caregivers mostly) lie to boys... boys soon see with their own eyes how women react to bad boys, arrogant football players, good looking assholes, etc, they start to question these lies only to be told over and over again how they're wrong, their observations are completely inaccurate, trust me boy you don't know what you're talking about. The lies are compounded and reinforced.

That's a completely separate point. Sure, approach away... but the point is why don't women themselves who claim to genuinely not care about height, why is this never revealed on dating profiles?

Simple. Men govern for women. Women govern for women. It is so odd to me how women see all these men in power and then make this bizarre leap in logic to assume this maleness somehow benefits other men - it doesn't. Look at education, media campaigns, government policies, how our tax dollars are spent - everything is so one-sided in favor of women and girls. PS: Trump was elected primarily due to exactly what I'm talking about. All those rust belt voters kept getting told how privileged and raci…

I think what you are referring to relates to the mainstream - media, corporations, government, etc. Of course, some random guy can go out there and start addressing men's and boy's issues as an individual. But as a whole, feminists have been very, very successful at silencing and otherwise no-platforming men's groups. They simply do not have a voice in the mainstream. So in this sense, they are correct. Elected and corporate leaders will not address their concerns unless they get the go-ahead fr…

Usually the response from women is to accuse the guy of being closeted gay. Not because they actually think he's gay, but as a shaming tactic.

Also interesting when you consider there is nothing stopping these women from choosing lesser-earning men when they were dating. They could have found a part-time working type or a school teacher with a flexible schedule, one would be thrilled to be the stay at home parent to support her high powered career. Except... overwhelmingly, those type of men are very unattractive to women generally speaking. Hypergamy and refusing to 'date down' are never factored into this.

We should push men into healthier and more balanced lifestyles. I agree but that's not the point of this NY Times article. Their point is that women are unfairly "punished" by earning less than their male counterparts. They are looking solely at net income as being the sole measure of "equality" yet, as always, they always ignore the "time away from your family" gap and the "sacrificing yourself into an early grave for your family" gap. Having the judgement-free, more work/life balance option in…

From the article’s text: “There’s no gender gap in the financial rewards for working extra long hours. For the most part, women who work extreme hours get paid as much as men who do. But far fewer women do it, particularly mothers. Twenty percent of fathers now work at least 50 hours a week, and just 6 percent of mothers do”.

The dating market is hyper-inflated, and people are falling though the cracks Elliot Rodgers was a very decent looking guy. He was thin and fit, nice jaw, cheekbones, nice skin, dressed well, full head of hair, he was tall enough (5'9"). My point in bringing this up is that the dating market for him should not have been "hyper-inflated" for a guy like him. If he asked out other girls his age from school or at parties or bars he would have been very successful.

Totally agree. The anger towards Brie Larson, Amy Schumer, the Gillette ad, Cardi B, Rose McGowan, Amber Heard, etc is much more related towards the hypocrisy and double standards in the mainstream vs. what they did specifically as individuals. So many examples where if you reverse the genders the entire rule book changes

As much as women like this deserved to get mocked for her entitlement, the sad reality is that it is us guys who created this situation. In an ideal world, profiles like this would be so utterly dismissed she would be forced to 1) either live in complete isolation or 2) be friendly, list her qualities, why she's a good catch, what she brings to the relationship and so on. Instead, her In-box has 183 messages groveling at her feet. That's on us.

The idea is that women, to their credit, nag their husbands to get medical attention, not to ignore their health issues, make sure their prescriptions are followed, etc. Plus, once married, the burden of being the provider is amplified so married men sacrifice themselves more for their career. At the end of the day, the statistics show married men living longer and earning more income and thus the conclusion: "See? Marriage benefits men!". No other correlation to overall happiness, however.

what this tells us is that its always "SAFE" to "go after" and humiliate Men & Boys Men will always flock to Tinder. From a business perspective, Tinder needs to focus all of their efforts on attracting and retaining women. That means if women have a complaint, "guys lying about their height", etc that gets priority. Their male customers will never leave. Remember, Bumble was formed for this exact reason. Tinder doesn't want to lose further market share

Instead of saying, "I'm a fat, ugly single mom who drives men away with my horrible personality" she postures with "swipe left if you don't like it" as some misplaced attempt to show pride at being an asshole, to show that she might actually like who she is as a person which we all know isn't true.

That "not looking for a hook up" is so annoying. Why can't they simply list a few lines about why they would be a good catch and a few lines about what they are looking for in a positive way? It's like single moms saying, 'My kids are my world and if you have a problem with that, then keep looking' vs. 'I have wonderful kids that keep me busy, so I'm looking for a family oriented man who we can share our love with'. All this bitterness is so unattractive

but 40's? I never heard of it. many women can still look hot in their early 40s however once they hit that menopause phase of late 40s/early 50s it's so odd, but a switch just clicks off in my brain. Women also face a glass ceiling This simply isn't true. Corporations are bending over backwards to promote women to senior executive roles. A qualified female employee has a much easier time getting promoted than her identical male counterpart. Biologically it is much harder to be a woman - hormones, pregnancies, postpartum depression, menopause, menstruation, etc. Socially, it is much easier being a women - endless double standards in your favor, the entire education system slanted in your favor, preferential treatment in hiring, admissions, promotions, everything in the mainstream media caters to you. We don’t empower men to be in non-provider roles The "we" is women themselves. Articles like this always leave out how women are the primary enforcers of this. Instead it's always framed as men who are insecure, fragile, etc. Not those strong, independent career women who refuse to date down

but they said that I'm not good enough for them. That's really at the heart of this. Overwhelmingly, few exceptions aside, women look down on men who earn less than them. Knowing this, of course men don't want to put themselves in a position where someone reluctantly settled for them or they have to "make up for it in other ways" like you have an STI. You'll notice.... it doesn't matter. Feminists have been very clear on this. Body imaging/shaming issues only apply to women and girls. Fat acceptance only applies to women. The standard for men in advertising has been and will always be the ripped, 10% body fat type. Men's groups who attempt to bring this up are to be belittled, mocked and shamed. Men and boys with body images issues need to quit their manbaby whining. Move along. This issue has been decided.

Past 40 if you're an ugly woman life gets grim Why "grim"? Isn't it fair to say they get treated about the same as your average man where people are generally polite but no one does any special favors, no one goes out of their way for them, etc? It's not like people throw tomatoes and curse at them as they walk down the street.

Even in their 30s, 40s and 50s women will be worth far more Online dating proves this everyday. Even these post-wall women get flooded with messages. Sure, a lot of undesirables but also a lot of decent guys too. The only exceptions are those tiny % of guys at the very, very top of the pyramid.

So, what's the solution? How about women take some responsibility for once and make this issue a priority when dating if it's this important to them? They act like they don't have a voice in this. You choose who to date, marry, have kids with. You choose what standards to accept or not.

Only reason she was called out was because the mural represented deceased war veterans. The irony of this topic is that the worst offenders we have in our society (mass shooters, violent felons, etc) are overwhelmingly raised by single moms with no father figure in sight. Splitting hairs. Men are attracted to 80% of women, women are only attracted to 20% of men. Yes, there is a tiny sliver where men "gatekeep" against very unattractive women. Most instances, these are due to these gals shooting way, way out of their league. Look at the bigger picture here. It would be like a guy patting himself on the back because he rarely pays for a first date knowing full well this situation doesn't apply to the vast majority of men in general.

Everyone else should be ok because the false accuser has to deal with the police and the DA, which means real evidence, real consequences if they catch you lying, etc.

"median gender wage gap" Here we go again. Women are paid equally for the same work, but that's not good enough. Women, especially in university settings, are given overwhelming advantages in admissions, hiring and promotions, but that's not good enough. What you read online are exaggerations, girls clinging to victim status, using hyperbole, posturing to validate feminists …

Posturing. Projecting the image she has a strong sex/orgasm drive is seen as healthier. Also, wanting to not appear to be too prudish, too uptight. Women do this all the time to each other.

I work with a lady who is 5'8", she is older, thin but short hair, hardly any makeup, not horrible looking but there just isn't an ounce of sexuality about her. Her only chance at a relationship would be with a guy much older than her. Anyway, true story, she was complaining about being single and said something like, "Men must be intimidated by tall women, that's why I struggle so much in dating". This thread is being brigaded by limp dick losers who like jerking off to women being raped, so I'm locking it. So, erectile dysfunction shaming? Ever notice how feminists just love to body shame men at every possible chance they get? Small penis, short, bald, impotent, virgin/can't get laid, ugly, still live at home and so on, etc? Not that I really care (actually, some of it is pretty funny), but the hypocrisy and lack of self-awareness is just too fucking hysterical for words.

And the funny part is, I sort of enjoy my life that way. It's sad that so many women say things like this. They know their life isn't the way they want it to be, so rather than admit that, they posture with statements like this to lessen the blow to their ego. It would be like a guy lying to himself, "I really have no interest in getting a blow job from a supermodel on a private beach at sunset while drinking a margarita, seriously, it doesn't interest me at all". Then why would women with undergraduate degrees be more desirable than those without? Women look down on men who aren't at least the same status as they are, preferably much higher. Knowing this, very few men want to put themselves in a position where they're the guy she reluctantly settled for. A female lawyer would look at someone who is "only" a school teacher without true respect, etc.

It appears that you are arguing nature is unfair to women, not laws. Came here to say this. The TL;DR is, "Men, stop being such cowards and just accept the fact that you must do all of the initiating, face all the rejection and do all the heavy lifting in a relationship". A much more intellectually honest article would be a message to her fellow women, "We need to stop teaching boys that approaching is seen as unwanted harassment. The criticism is that what most women would call 'settling' is what most men would call being unrealistic, too picky, hypocritical, entitled, etc. Ex. A woman who works in retail wouldn't marry a man who 'only' works in retail. This ruling was from just a few months ago (02-2018) so it's going to take awhile to work its way through the education system. Previously, the male student was put in a position where he had to prove his innocence, or "should have known" how intoxicated she was. Now those same standards can be applied to her as well. The bottom line is sanity. If two drunk people fully participate but then later she alone claims she was too drunk consent, the case won't have legal standing.

Epley &Whitchurch effect I googled that. The evidence from psychological research suggests that we tend to think of our appearance in ways that are more flattering than are warranted. Like this Tinder study shows, I think this applies much more so for women because of how easy it is for them on dating apps, artificially raises their ego, etc.

The question isn't. "Is it possible or impossible for men to find any type of girlfriend, even low value men?" Yes, they can eventually find someone. The question comes down to how much effort they have to put it and the quality of the women they hook up with. This is where hypergamy comes in. Two equally attractive people, one man and one woman, the man must put forth significantly more effort to find someone at or above his level - not only taking all the risk of rejection, paying for most of …

I wouldn't mind either. Let's do the math. Teachers and administrators, almost all of them are female, implement a dress code policy. Female students overwhelmingly violate this policy. Boys don't complain for a second. Teachers and administrators enforce their dress code policy and.... ... the problem, of course, are the boys. Yet again. They can't "control" themselves. Feminism 101, chapter one, page one: males are always the villains, females are always the victims. If males were to dress in a very revealing, sexual way the response would be to label him a pervert, a harasser who perpetuates rape culture, etc. If females dress very revealing, sexual then the males around her who are again the perverted, inappropriate ones. She is again the victim and the men and boys who 'can't control themselves' are again the villains.

I appreciate the author having a fair amount of empathy towards men. Unlike most women on this subject, she at least acknowledges some of the challenges men face as well. Grey hair is easily remedied by dying of the hair on the woman's part. Also, don't forget how women love to shame men who dye their hair. A guy with gray hair shows up at the office one day with dyed hair and the entire female staff snickers behind his back about his "mid-life crisis". The "silver fox" is another lie. I think the OP is missing the point on this subject. Feminism has, essentially, viewed men slaving away all day at work, sacrificing time away from their families, literally working themselves into an early grave as somehow the "privileged" position. They have almost erased this from history - only the suffering of women is recorded. They paint an image of a man sitting with his feet up on a desk, smoking a cigar, gleefully oppressing humanity all day long.

You still think less of these men because of it. Textbook example that proves my point again. Men have two choices: gift generously with something clever/creative and romantic or face a penalty to some degree.

We are still young This is the one and only exception where women will not completely punish a guy who earns less. If you meet as students or just starting out in your career, her resentment at your "lessor" status will still be there, but no where near what it would have been if you both met once your careers were established. That same high earning girlfriend who worships you wouldn't respond to your dating profile if she were single today.

It says nothing about why women initiate divorce more often. "Something's missing". Women placing the burden of their personal happiness on her partner. "How come I don't feel like the girl in that Ryan Gosling movie?"
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/18 12:51 PM
4

Women marry up, overwhelmingly. When they divorce, their "half" is from a pile that they contributed much less to, plus she's much more likely to get alimony. Post divorce, once all the dust has settled, the man makes out better in spite of divorce rape only because he goes back to the same higher-earning career that attracted him to her in the first place and she goes back to her lower earning one, thus the statistic that post-divorce men end up doing better overall.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/18 12:47 PM
5

It seems that Most people see men as financial providers bc they still mostly are. The point is that, the vast majority of women still hypocritically judge men by their provider status with a very rigid punishment/reward system depending on his income (or lack thereof). Most women still insist on hypergamy. When divorce comes around, it is usually the man who contributed much more into the pile.

I'm seeing the change too with this new crop of younger females entering the workforce (early to mid-20s) where, finally and for the first time, there seems to be just a little push back at all the favoritism, 'encouraging' and other gender-based preferential treatment. Before the attitude from women was a near universal mantra of "we're oppressed and the solution is more entitlements for us and more scolding/shaming for them" (this is still the policy at universit…

Educated professional women don't get alimony Interestingly, they also don't want to get remarried. The female mindset is "his money is our money, my money is my money". Fran Walfish, a psychotherapist in Beverly Hills, says, “a woman’s ego cannot bear to tolerate a man using her for her money" https://www.marketwatch.com/story/first-wives-say-i-dont-to-second-marriages-2013-10-24 This is why women are so repulsed by the idea of a man being a SAHD.

being a man enables you a chance to rise above others and solidify yourself as someone with high SMV, no matter how ugly you are. Women do not have this advantage This is a good point. As a man, you are forced to forge your own path in life knowing that you have to succeed on your merits alone. Women are valued just for existing, men are valued only when they've earned it. Women in the west have life on easy mode with everything handed to them however, you could argue that is what makes being a …

The OP is largely correct. Let's say I earn $100K/year and I'm out somewhere and find myself striking up a conservation with a female security guard who happens to be super cute. Much better frame than Piers however. I thought he did great. "You are blaming your own failures with British women.....". "No, I was quite successful with British women" - he had to say this twice. There is one scene I found fascinating at this point in the video. The fat (yet highly fuckable, I must admit) gal on the far right makes a ridiculous point about how "you can't say all British women are overweight" and he calmly swats away her pathetic strawman point by saying, "not all, not 'all'... obviously". Exactly. Trump's overall turnout wasn't much different than what we saw with Romney and McCain. Typical of what any Republican candidate would get. The real story is how so many black, women and minority Obama voters decided to stay at home instead of voting for Hillary. Notice how they don't like to talk about that.

By a majority, white women voted for Trump too. Oh, and 10 million black people who voted for Obama decided to stay at home instead of voting for Hillary. The fact that the author refuses to acknowledge this and clings to the "white men are evil" mantra tells you everything.

One thing I've noticed in the "we demand equality" mantra is how it is finally and very slowly applying this to themselves. You have to factor in how much men are creep shamed and, especially with this hysteria about sexual harassment, how much men are scolded that approaching is a violation. More often it isn't that the lack of approach signals disinterest, it's the man feels she has to give him permission first with a very, very clear signal. In the absence of that signal, guys won't approach not wanting to be the creepy rapey guy.

For me personally, the negative attitude on reddit stems from the fact that women receive so much preferential treatment, so many double standards and yet still have a never-ending mantra of being a victim, demanding even more double standards, then the whole repeats again, and again. With women in real life, at work, etc. I really don't think about this at all.

In fairness to his woman, as a pretty white female she has had everything handed to her in life - a bizarre combination of playing an 'oppressed victim' on one hand, yet receiving lifelong preferential treatments and lack of any accountability on the other. This is probably the first and only time in her life she had to experience life from a non-entitled princess perspective.

It's a mixed bag. Biologically, women have it much harder with menstruation, hormones, pregnancies, menopause. same for sex toys: women are empowered, men are creeps or losers. Women generally don't have anywhere near the sex drive men have, and ESPECIALLY not for the all kinky, perverted, fucked-up shit us men do. Women have a lot of catching up to do. Women should praised for using sex toys and anything else that gets them more slutty. In fact, I demand that women start a fetish of ordering men's used underwear to masturbate to like we do. If a woman puts her child in daycare, she is shamed by many traditional women for being a selfish, neglectful mother. If she gives up her career to stay at home, a whole different set of women shame for choosing the lesser-than path which only further emboldens the evil patriarchy. A man who leaves his child in the care of others while he is at work is a non-existent thought from anyone. A man is also given a disproportionate amount of praise for doing ordinary parenting tasks. Body image and its associated disorders will go from 'unnoticed' to 'noticed' when feminism finally includes men and boys in the discussion. They have the ability to influence media, government and education, we don't. I hope this changes in the future, but attempts at men's groups addressing this will be quickly dismissed. See how much energy is devoted to women in STEM vs. the underachievement of boys in education as a similar example.

You act like the men had it that good. Don't forget, most men couldn't vote either. The founding fathers set up a system where only the aristocratic landowning class could vote. This slowly changed where other males could vote, but only for state legislators and the house of representatives, then eventually they could vote for senators, black men couldn't vote for a long time, then with the draft they could finally vote for President.

Women's contributions are vastly insignificant compared to men, however, since that number is above zero, it means the parasite label strangely doesn't apply. If feminists really wanted to close the earnings gap, their message should be to their fellow women to stop their harsh reward/punishment incentive system based on a man's income. Campaign against hypergamy. Campaign in favor of sacrificing time with their families to instead prioritize the corporate rat race.

Harvard President Faust's November 2016 interview with the Crimson: “[The policy] was meant more to marginalize the power, the social power of these groups. To undermine the kinds of circumstances that lead women to line up outside of clubs on Friday nights hoping to be chosen on the basis of their outfits, appearance, whatever.”

I think you're confusing two separate points: 1) Is it possible or impossible for an average guy to find casual sex? The answer, of course, is it is very possible and likely, especially if he's willing to date someone extremely unattractive. However, this wasn't the point which was 2) Does your typical 5/10 Average Joe have to struggle to find casual sex with someone at approximately the same level of attractiveness? You can't honestly say the answer to this point isn't a clear YES.

If you asked a large number of women to rate a man's appearance and the overwhelmingly consensus from them was he was a 5/10. That same man would have an exceptionally difficult time finding a 5/10 (or higher) female for casual sex.

Replace "challenge" with "you're better than this". The best support she can offer is not to let yourself fail by gaining weight, making the wrong career choices, etc.

yeah, I have no doubt in my mind that men would act in this way given the opportunity You know, as much as us men complain, this point is probably true. Women have such overwhelming advantages when it comes to dating and sex however if the shoe was on the other foot, would men act any differently? We would cash in on those same privileges too.

The things I listed "exists in men" however, overwhelmingly they apply much, much more so than in reverse and it's not even close. Saying, "yes, but I know of a rare exception" doesn't invalidate the larger point. The other point about chivalry, is the reality that a large % of women will punish a man to some degree for.... just off the top of my head, not taking most of the risks in approaching, not initiating, planning and paying for most dates, not demonstrating significantly greater gift-giv…

Yes, but there is a lot of criticism towards women that doesn't really apply towards men, outside of the few, rare exceptions. Things like financial exploitation, hypergamy, manipulation by withholding sex, double standards with chivalry expectations and so on.

The point was about the gender sentencing gap and how feminists don't really fight to change anything in spite of the clear bias against men. To this point, I linked articles which showed that some feminists not only do not fight for equal sentences, but they want even greater advantages by eliminating women's prisons all together.

Single moms love the idea of dating single dads, where single dads would still prefer she didn't have the extra baggage. For single moms, it helps to even out many of her disadvantages she would have to deal with if the guy didn't have kids. Childfree men avoid single moms more than childfree women avoid single dads. A lot of childfree women wish they had their own kids and would welcome a shot at being a stepmom where the reverse rarely happens. Plus, one of the very few double standards in a m…

That phenomenon is called the wall. I've always used a more simple definition: the point where a person stops being attractive and only becomes "attractive... for their age". Once you're forced to use the qualifiers, you're post wall. Helen Mirren young/old is a good example.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/17 06:23 PM

You had to qualify this post several times with the "top quality men" who have always played by different rules. However, if you were to take the same average man and compare him to the same average woman, she still has an advantage over him in her 40s and 50s.

If he went on accutane, got a better haircut, worked out, and got some nice clothes, he would be attractive to plenty of women. I think this is really the point of this thread. There will always be someone with a better genetic lottery, but if the guy on the left did all the right things - fitness, skincare, fashion, personality, he would have a long and very successful dating/sex life with plenty of attractive women.

I tend to agree with the OP. Right or wrong, good or bad, men want women more than they want us. Men outnumber women in every bar, every social event, every dating app. That doesn't change until you're in your 70s and by then it's game over. The few women who "put themselves out there" will still get more attention than their equally attractive male counterpart.

In what way? It fascinates me the way you can't get a straight answer to this question. Just vague non-answers like, "because it's still not safe for a woman to walk alone at night" and complete falsehoods like, "because young girls are still taught they can't be a CEO or President"

they are offered less hours and overtime. Oh please. Working more hours isn't a question of sitting around and waiting for "an offer". Women have exactly the same opportunity to work the same number of hours as men and they choose not to. That's doesn't make them wrong. In fact, good for them to prioritize more work/life balance. However, don't then look at your W2 and point the finger at the other gender and scream that you're a victim of "systemic oppression". Also, let's not pretend that wome…

Feminism has a powerful microphone. The mainstream media, corporations, politicians are always on eggshells trying not to get in their crosshairs. When they point this microphone at you, it's a very powerful weapon. A few quick examples: national media attention to Steubenville, Brock Turner, Rolling Stone U.Va article (this is before it was exposed), corporations shamed for lack of diversity, long list of gender based policies reserved solely for females and so on. The criticism is the proporti…

Hillary Clinton didn't say she didn't want white men to vote for her. She only implied that she wouldn't need them if they chose not to support her. Huh? No one gives a fuck if Hillary 'wants, but doesn't think she needs' the white male vote. That was never the point of anything. Her campaign revolved around rallying the support of women, African Americans, illegal immigration, LGBT and Muslims. Always either ignoring, excluding or vilifying white males. Us vs. them. Feminists are very successful at tone policing, silencing, shaming, ad hominem attacks. Notice we're not discussing the movie itself, just its fight to even be seen and heard? I can't say it isn't working, unfortunately. The mainstream media, most politicians and most of the corporate world fall right in line.

You missed the point. It isn't about being proud of Trump, it's about how the DNC, Hillary and the mainstream media have implemented an identity-politics strategy with the specific goal of excluding and demonizing white males, especially working class, blue collar types. Every other group is allowed to have problems, allowed to complain, allowed to have their issues heard... except for them. For these guys, they are constantly shamed about how privileged and bigoted and sexist they are. Their is…

Let's have (non-transgendered) boys try and join the Girl Guides and we'll see how it's not a "big deal" then.
/r/MensRights05/05/17 01:32 PM

Congrats. You found one rare exception. Feel better? It doesn't change a thing. 1) boys are forced into coed, 2) girls have the option of either coed or single gender, 3) one or two rare outliers where the boy is gay or identifies as a girl doesn't change their corporate policy and the double standards.

She tried them all and in the end opted for girl-only. Boys don't get the choice. What fascinates me is how so many people are incapable of seeing this point.

So odd you have to explain this. Boys Scouts are forced to be coed. "What's the big deal?". Yet when Girl Scouts refuse to admit (non-transgendered) boys the same person doesn't see the double standard.

This is a perfect example why the, "false rape allegations are only a teeny, tiny 2-8% so what's the big deal" mantra from feminists is so intellectually dishonest. This figure comprises only the small number of cases where the authorities can prove she lied, i.e. there was a video somewhere that proved something, he had an air-tight alibi, she confesses during the investigation, etc. The rest all get dumped into the unfounded category. Agreed, but the larger point is how ridiculous it is when feminists scream non-stop about how women don't have "equal rights" when the one, and only, right they don't have is going topless in some places and even this they don't give a shit about, most men would be thrilled with the idea

Any statistical advantage women have is a "bright spot" - more college degrees, more women become veterinarians or lawyers, women controlling human resources, publishing, etc. Any statistical advantage* men have is because of "oppression" and "patriarchy", an evil dilemma which must be solved with even more privileges, more outreach, more preferential treatment in admissions, hiring and promotions, more 'encouraging' for girls only, more affirmative action. *strangely does not apply to dirty, ho…

This point is completely lost of them. Women, bags, extra space = rolls eyes, can't you just say "excuse me" what's wrong with you? Men, knees, extra space = national news coverage, signs posted on subways, outrage, outrage, outrage. All the while that women and their bags are much more 'guilty' of this issue and it's not even close.

It's not the same thing. Tell me if you see a difference: Them: endless demonization of men over an issue they insist is a huge problem worthy of considerable media attention. Sadly, many of these women will choose to ignore all this 'equality' stuff they say they insist upon and instead grow up 'ashamed' and 'worried' they earn more. Exactly. She missed the point entirely. Females are absolutely given a long, long list of privileges, double standards, lower standards, free passes, getting away with things, etc, etc solely based on their gender. I think it is symbolic of just how hypocritical and absurd today's feminism has become. Compare the amount of energy they devote to this issue vs so many other issues they virtually ignore, i.e. treatment of women and gays in the Middle East and Africa. It tells you everything.

Older story, but it illustrates a fascinating trend in feminism where all these social justice types bend over backwards to "encourage" young girls to do something they themselves refused to do. "We need more girls in STEM!". So why did you choose teaching instead of a STEM field? "Oh, I wasn't interested. No thanks. Boring. This wouldn't bother me so much if it weren't for the fact that these young girls already have such an enormous leg up on their peers This. What bothers me is not only do they already have an enormous leg up, not only are they given preferential treatment in admissions, hiring and promotions, not only are they given gender based "encouragement" and bias from the earliest days of their education, surrounded by female teachers until high school.... but then, amazingly, they still claim victimhood …

A version of this applies to college athletes. Title IX says the number of student athletes has to reflect that of the student body. So if 59% of your students are female, then so must 59% of your athletes. Yet, as with tech jobs, a much higher % of men seek these out, which means a much higher % will be denied, even more so when you factor in football. So they cut men's gymnastics, men's swimming, men's volleyball, etc, etc, just to make room.
