Honey, I'm so happy for you, but you're hurting. I know this because none of us in a seven year friendship didn't hurt at the end of it. You are going to make amazing, supportive, close girl friends in the near future.

Absolutely. I’ve noticed that this radical feminism is only radical on social media, but it’s mainstream feminism in academia and literary circles. Unfortunately the social media feminism that floats to the top of algorithms is largely ignorant and uninformed...please don’t judge libfem by the voices of teen girls wanting to justify poor choices with empowerment quotes.

I think of myself as being in the camp of libfems and I understand the empowerment that is supposed to be behind it. My mom, for example, was given a measly “allowance,” and the 50/50 rule is supposed to be more equal for women who had less financial spending before. But once a couple is serious, just throw everything in a joint account and call it “our money”! Then again, I know old married folks who almost divorced over spending differences, so I guess different strokes for different folks.

But I’m a feminist and I don’t think men and women could ever be friends
