Not only that. She’s a PhD. He’s a grad student. Grad students do all the work and get very little credit.

I completely agree and understand that's the point they're trying to make, but as the other comment stated, it won't be taken seriously if it's not 100% accurate.
/r/MensRights05/03/15 09:02 PM

Forced conscription means it requires everyone (or every male) to sign up for the military. No matter if it's wartime or not. Selective service would do this if our country desperately needs people, but we've only done it three times.
/r/MensRights05/03/15 08:52 PM

Not parent commenter, but I wouldn't call that splitting hairs. It's a significant difference. And as he said, asking "get rid of mandatory conscription". Their response will be "done" and blow off the request completely. Any official request that expects to be taken seriously needs to be %100 accurate.

Horribly misleading title. She's charged. He isn't. The only person blaming him is a psychotic drunk woman suffering from postpartum depression.

What's wrong with putting it in both washrooms? The fact that it doesn't specifically say "men do this to women" is huge. Gender neutral help is a great thing.

No way. What about 16 year old and a 9 year old? 13 to 15 is a bit ridiculous, but there needs to be a line somewhere.

My sister's ex told me he never wanted to get married. He said "if we break up, I get my shit and I leave. If we get divorced, I just leave." He ended up being an immature dick head that cheated on her for three years, but divorce is not kind to most men.

These comment a are a shit show. False rape accusations are fucked up, but everything about this article seems sketchy. There's very little evidence either way. Without hard evidence, neither person should be charged. So many voices of reason being downvoted. It's ridiculous.

I've come across a girl like this. I was at a gas station to buy beer. Some girl walks around the corner of a strip of bars and can barely stand. I made a joke about "had a bit much?" Then I realized she was alone and was completely fucked up. I casually asked if she was ok but was worried about helping her home because I knew it would be viewed as me taking advantage of her. (I had a serious gf and wouldn't have done anything even if she was sober). These kinds of videos discourage men from act…

They were cool once you got used to the overbearing friendliness. It's not only women that are harassed. I couldn't go anywhere as a white man without numerous people approaching me for money or just to be their friend so they'd ask for my phone number and then call me in the middle of the night.

It is by far a cultural thing. I lived in west Africa for two years, and it's common to follow and question women. They don't see it as harassment. They are taught to play hard to get even if they want it. I personally think they go way too far, but that's part of their culture. Feminism is fighting against this (which I understand), but you're not gonna change an entire culture overnight.

They claimed that for whatever reason, for all the white males, the audio didn't come out well. While this sounds like a bogus reason, I don't think it's unreasonable that there were a limited number of white males which led to a lesser chance that their cat calls were not heard as well.

While I agree with most of what you said, the sex registry is already compromised. There was that 6 year old who played doctor with a 5 year old girl and was put on the list. There's a lot of high school teenagers who have sex with their gf who happens to be two years younger and are labeled as rapists. The sex registry needs to be full of actual sex offenders. Unfortunately, it also has a lot of people who made stupid mistakes.

I am not a lawyer, so I have no legal advice. You need to find a lawyer and get some legal advice. Seriously. Others have mentioned possible pro bono lawyers. If you can't find one, find a way to scrape together enough cash to get a lawyer to reduce child support to a reasonable amount and it'll be much cheaper in the long run. Also, most lawyers will talk to you for free. Call around and just get a consultation and find out about costs. Lastly, as others have said, you may not be getting the fu…

I realize that. I'd like to think most of my exes would never do something so horrible, but it's possible. That's why I didn't marry them. A few of my exes would totally do anything to fuck me over, but most of them were decent people. That's why I'm so careful about who I married. Too many people get married young or too quickly and that's who they end up being screwed over.

There was a post recently (sorry no source, I'm on mobile now), that stated that male rape is almost as common as female rape. You just never hear about it. And as for DV, other people here pointed out that it's more common among female couples, but men are always labeled as the aggressor. I'm probably not the best spokesperson since I'm mostly a casual lurker here, but it has opened my eyes to lots of issues I wasn't aware of before. I think a lot of people here are more upset at how many cause…

I don't think I'd say those are the biggest hot button issues at all. This is definitely an issue, but there's a long list of men's rights issues that are largely ignored by most of society. I'd say that one of the big hot button issues is rape. A man raping a woman is a horribly fucked up thing, but anytime a woman takes advantage of a man, most people laugh it off. Men aren't allowed by societal norms to complain. That's very similar to DV. Men are told to man up and are often ridiculed when t…

That's why I said mostly a myth. Different job types is the biggest difference. And the study most often quoted is something like 4 decades old (I don't remember exactly, but I know it's old). Politifact actually does say there is a pay gap for the same job, but it's closer to 90-95 cents per dollar instead of 77 cents or whatever number so often quoted. I'm all for equality, but I'd say +/- 5 cents is equality.

Woohoo! I just took the quiz and I'm not privileged either! I got 29 points and most of them were because I'm not gay or transgendered. Seriously, what's the point of ten questions in a row asking about my sexuality? If you think it should weigh heavier than other things, just make it worth more points.

Some people are into that sort of thing. I think it's weird, but it exists. However, op didn't say he never wanted to have sex with her.

Have you never heard of /r/mensrights? I've been pressured to have sex uncountable times. I've been raped by a woman before. The fact that you think it's a troll is the reason men's rights exists. People think women raping men is a joke or doesn't exist. It's a fucked up double standard that is generally ignored.

Why don't girls wanna have sex all the time? It goes both ways. I've had a lower sex drive than most girls I've dated. I've been pressured into sex when I wasn't in the mood, or when I was in high school and believed premarital sex was wrong (I no longer believe that). "Do you think I'm fat? Does it mean you don't love me?" And lots of crying. Men and women aren't that different when it comes to sex. Some want it all the time, some want it on occasion, and some only want it rarely. The idea that…

I've been forced to penetrate a girl a couple of times. The first time she grabbed my dick and shoved it in her, then I stopped her. The second time (same girl), I was too drunk to stand and told her to leave. She climbed on top of me and went to town. I barely remember it.

I understand your argument, but I'm saying these lines have to be drawn somewhere. Again, I will take it way over the line. If I'm fucking a six year old, I can convince them that they enjoyed it, and they should tell reporters that. It's totally consensual. We both had fun, why shouldn't I be allowed to fuck six year olds? Obviously this should be illegal. Should the age of consent be younger than 18? Perhaps, but that's a whole different argument. Edit: hell, my grandpa (19) married my grandma…
/r/MensRights01/08/13 04:01 AM
2

Also, where do you draw the line? I can fuck teenagers without going to jail, but what about preteens? What about toddlers? Obviously, someone fucking a toddler deserves prison, so the line needs to be somewhere. Politicians at some point made age of consent laws to draw that line. What the proper age should be is arguable, but it definitely needs to be handled with laws.
/r/MensRights01/08/13 03:36 AM

I donno about that. If some adult is fucking 14 year olds, I think the court may be a good way to handle it.

I didn't say helpless victim. My point was that I could probably convince young girls they want to sleep with me, but that doesn't make it ok. I've been a teacher. I was a TA in college. I probably could have used that to get laid, but that's illegal for a reason. Even though the girls were of age, it's still wrong.
/r/MensRights01/08/13 02:44 AM
3

That's fucked up. And a lot of people saying, "he probably wanted it, lawls." Is ridiculous. She's an authority figure over him. If I'm teaching a female minor, and she tries to jump my shit, does that make me any less guilty if I let it continue? That's the whole point of these laws. Consent can be manipulated in situations such as this.
/r/MensRights01/08/13 01:30 AM
5

I think some of the sex offender laws go overboard when you're talking about someone being 19 having sex with someone 16, etc. But a fucking teacher having sex with a 16 year old is fucked up. And you know if it was a male teacher, he'd receive much worse punishment than what she got.
