Isn't it funny how we all have to keep in mind that TRP's and MGTOW's are often angry and disillusioned, but they get to merrily brigade and presume we're all the bad moms and dumb sluts that made them the way they are?

You clearly didn't read the rest of my comments in this thread. I guess it doesn't matter much since I didn't describe a lie in this post either: I said the n count is none of his business. And then I didn't lie during the sexual experience inquisition that followed. Not being a worthless man hamstering moron he used his amazing powers of deduction in combination with facts over the year of us knowing each other to figure out if the n count number itself mattered or not. As far as imagining if a…

Only if he wants to be, I don't mind personally either way. Actually I always assumed it was high because out of my n count of 4: one was my age, the other 3 yrs older, one 8 yrs older, and one 7 years older. I had no illusions and it wasn't a big deal.

Nah, a guy doesn't have to know your n count to ask about things you've done. I got the inquisition on my first date with my now husband, and I suspect the number dodge didn't matter because I didn't lie about what I had done, hadn't done, and/or was repulsed by. I played myself!

This is one of those questions with a high probability of making him mental. If he hasn't asked, say nothing. I'm not sure what knowing does for guys anyway aside from giving them horrible things to think, it's not like either of you can go back in time and change it. I got married a bajillion years ago at 21 and have a low count, I still didn't say anything because it's none of his business. He's asked, I usually say something flippant like 5000 because regardless of the number I think they mul…

Well I want to tell you very specifically first that you're awesome for recognizing this as an issue and going about solving it. That's a big deal and not to be overlooked. I don't want to make you uncomfortable, but is your relationship good otherwise? What has your husbands reaction to the bare minimum been? I'm trying to figure out what the most subtle transition back to sex would be, but that kinda depends on if you're otherwise happy together and if he's resentful of the low libido years or…

However, I would say it's been worse the 3ish years when my libido really took a nose dive. I seem to have recovered my appetite recently but the years of disinterest and rejection (on my end!) have made me thoroughly unable to be or act sexual. Am I reading this right as you were the one doing showing disinterest and rejecting? Also: you're not "totally weird" and yes it's something you can overcome for sure.

Not condescending :) I'm not religious or from a similar background but it all made a lot of sense and was a great shared perspective. The part about hobbies and general awareness (when things go seriously sideways, haha) is right on. Timely too, some of the stuff lately has been eyebrow raising, so a window to normal is great.

Yeah he was basically the mastermind behind all of the bad stuff that set the story up. He should've gone out better imo. I really loved to hate him almost as much as Joffrey and Ramsey.

Oh it was creepy for sure between Bran voiceover, Tyrion spying, and knowing he was raw dogging his Aunt...ew! I love that the White Walkers are finally moving beyond the wall for sure. I didn't like what happened to Littlefinger though, I was hoping for something more dramatic and remarkable than getting foiled by "those darn Stark kids!"

He says he's happy with me and wants us to spend our lives together Like, together, or married? If together, then keep your career alive and manage your finances like you may need them as you're doing now. That's smart and good self preservation. I do enjoy traveling and will put money aside for a nice trip once a year, but its not like I can afford to go with him on every trip he would like to take... and I feel bad about that. Neither of us are really the gift giving type in the first place. Awww you should make an effort to change that from your end if you're feeling the relationship. He'd have a better idea of where to start if you do and not go from 0 --> dildo on his end lol. You don't have to be extravagant or deeply meaningful 100% of the time, presents are a good way to show that you pay attention to small things.

clarification on an RP concept Dread as a thing. I'm not sure if I don't understand it, because I read TRP and don't see myself or my husband there because it's angry and we're more conspiratorial/laugh at everything/traditional gender role types. He's got more obvious RP tendencies than me, and is def the decision maker I just don't ever feel oppressed. My inclination would be to escalate and blow up or laugh at a manufactured "dread" situation, I don't think it would end well for anyone involv…

I'm not sure what you mean by equating "unpredictable" with "unstable"...maybe you could clarify and I can answer. Well they both can create dramatic feels, but unpredictable is exciting and revolves around anticipation of something good. Unstable is stressful and confusing, the "high" associated from it is relief when it's over and a false sense that things will be okay. My very first bf at 17 was both. While it was a minor disaster it definitely taught me a lot about acceptable behavior limits…

I've turned down stable beta men over unstable Alpha men. What characteristics are you finding attractive and 'alpha?' I could be wrong but on the surface it looks like you're equating 'unpredictable' (fun!) with 'unstable' (drama). This ties into what others have said about refining your vetting techniques and taking time for yourself to better understand what makes you happy. If you can do this solo you'll be better at recognizing attractive traits in others that will enhance your happiness. I…

Gosh, sometimes loving someone means doing things we may not consider ideal in order to please the person we love. 'Not ideal' covers things a lot less life changing than having another kid imo. To me that's like...picking someone up from the airport at rush hour. Or trussing a chicken with dental floss because you have no twine. Stuff like that. I think "not ideal" is a pretty major understatement in the case of having another kid. Poor guy wants another baby so badly he's even willing to hire …

Wow, he definitely doesn't sound like he's stuck in a rut! For what it's worth, my husband is also a very dynamic, ambitious guy, although in a very different field. He LOVED that intense period of having babies and toddlers. He would also love to have another kid. I tried reminding him that babies are a lot of work but you know, the man loves work and hates to sleep, so that just made the idea sound more appealing to him. Yessssss this, so much this!! A lot of our friends are having babies lately, he does steal them when they come over so that could be a big part of it. I think missing the kids when they were little is a part of it too. I don't think it's a rut thing because he's been goal oriented forever now. We moved out of state years ago from SoCal. He was an IT exec at Clearchannel then and had friends at Countrywide and Bank of America that saw the economic downturn writing on the wall as it was starting. He took a better job where we …

I love this, I feel the same way. I grew up learning this stuff and having to do it at times but no male in my family ever thought less of me for wanting to be doing anything else instead as a kid. As long as you can do it and do it well when necessary because it's a priority, it doesn't need to be some intrinsic part of your very soul to know a backstitch or 500 different ways to cook a chicken. I skimmed the comments, I didn't see this brought up so I'm going to put it out there: you mention a lot that you aren't sleeping with either of these men, but that's not necessarily the metric they're basing success on. If you're using it as a reason to continue dating both, it will very likely blow up in your face. Think about it. If both have been burned by women before and made it a point to tell you, but they're still getting to know you without sex rather than banging randoms with no strin…

Mine is extremely direct, we sort stuff out bluntly and then make dumb jokes about everything once we know the outcome we're going for. Unless he thinks we're at odds on an issue, then he goes full Kaiser Soze and does what he wants in a way that's supposed to make me think it couldn't have happened any other way. He's funny about it at least. As it relates to getting married, his initial proposal was very business like, he had a plan and I was on board or not within 2 weeks. There was a more tr…

Oh I really really don't, but I hadn't even considered adoption before reading the comment suggesting it. Honestly to me it seems like a potential compromise worth exploring since it offers skipping all the prego and infant stuff. I've explained the concerns, the only joke I've made is about the ovary dumpster fire. I was really hoping he'd go with that but he went the genetic testing route. I feel embarrassed to be a woman at times, seeing women behave in a certain manner. Or, the vile way some females conduct themselves when they speak. So I am lost, I feel trapped in a sense. Some women disgust me really. I would stop reading TRP based on this and stick with RPW. You can't be what you are happily if you're cramming yourself full of anger phase "AWALT slut-toddler" speak. I don't doubt that it's been a miserable soul crushing experience, but you're a mom. You don't have the luxury of wallowing in what's been done to you because failure is not an option. When the therapist did the kind, professional thing by unpacking and examining this with you what did you do with this information? Denied the only acceptable outcome. Every single time someone tells you what you already know you wallow. When they get harsh, you get defensive and start listing reasons why being wi…

You and her haven't done any of those things or he would be only with you or her. This man is toxic, that's why everyone is suggesting therapy and leaving because you've got him on a massive and undeserved pedestal. My mom used to get really mad when I said this to her as a teen. She told me to answer with "okay" because if I knew and did something else anyway I was saying I was deliberately defiant rather than ignorant, and if I didn't know, then I was to acknowledge that now I do. Oh wow that's rough, I'm glad the dad put his foot down and got her the help she needed. From what my friend told me the meds available these days are very good at targeting specific brain functions that aren't happening correctly, so it sounds like a win. Fascinating stuff. Oh I love these. If you're nervous, settle on a signal for when you need an immediate rescue. My husbands company has a lot of these events throughout the year, I wear our signal out sometimes because if it's an international thing some people don't understand the concept of personal space. On the "don't be afraid of medication" point, I heard something last night from one of my friends that hit home. Her son has autism, and she's a homeopathic treatment type that was totally against medicating him. Medication is that life changing." Hearing it put like that definitely changed her mind, it was interesting to learn a…

And the "wisdom, good hearts, and valuable experience" crowd isn't a fan of us, that I can say from personal experience. I don't think all women hate each other, but there's a deep divide akin to the "love your curves" crowd vs the don't be a pig and go to the gym one. They'll tell you all about how you "lucked out" having your kids in your 20's and not totally destroying your body. Pricier is generally (ymmv) better tailored, in the wearable sense that goes a long way in how it looks. Sturdier seams and construction in general help delicate fabrics stand up to wearing and washing longer. Check out La Perla, it's pricey but worth it.

Before you get on my case about being "independent," please hear me out. This isn't a bad attribute to me even a little bit, I'm not sure why it gets a bad rap. If you're with someone who has a demanding job and/or have kids, it's basically required. I think it turns into a bad thing only when you pair it with an inability to be in the moment or a lack of availability that signals your SO ranks very low on your priorities. If it works for you, I'm happy for you. It works for a lot of us who are happy. But you don't know that sex is important for anyone other than yourself. There's literally a gazillion studies on sex and intimacy that say otherwise. You've been extremely level headed and considerate through this, and while I admire it, I also wonder what he's done to earn this consideration? From my experience, if a man tries to make a woman love him (being a beta orbiter and a nice guy is nothing but that) he gets neither love nor respect, but aiming for respect gets him both of them. Respect is a key to a woman's love that's why Men need respect, because without it he loses everything. I can get behind this. Respect as a key component to even consideration (let alone love) from a woman actually nails why the OP was off the mark in his delivery as well. All the sneering at us while…

I read it as "Women don't need respect and that's fine as long as you can recite 3 words and not get lost finding a florist." I see the humble brag, but I also see cynicism and anger which kills my desire to respond thoughtfully. It makes me both grateful for my life and my husband and relieved that I dodged anyone who thinks so little of raising their kids and running their house that the woman who does it shouldn't be respected for her efforts even as she defers to her man. So that's nice.

Some men are experienced and dominant. They really know what buttons to push and make you lose it and submit to them. Should he also be looking for a serious relationship (which you already know, via good vetting) So much this! I have to add on the topic of vetting, they'll vet you right back and it will be interesting and uncomfortable. What may take you months (or longer) at an intensity between 4 and 6 they'll do in an hour at an 11. A previously articulate and friendly person flips the scrip…

They're negative in a concern troll way because they're bored or miserable. When they're bored they're screwing around with your life to forget their own. She certainly doesn't go for variety in her makeup look that's for sure! It's part of her whole "branding" deal, that particular aesthetic is something that's been tremendously popular for her so she doesn't stray. Edit: From a purely practical standpoint, you're 21 and in your prime SMV. If there are other attributes to this guy that make it worth it to fix bad sexual compatibility, then may as well try I guess. Personally I have never seen this work, but I doubt it's impossible. It seems like it has the potential to backfire and give a person complexes that could hinder a better match tbh and that's risky territory. Tell him, he's 28 and everything sounds stable. Combined with the fact that this is a collaborative mistake he should be able to deal with the knowledge. It's not ideal, but so much of life often isn't. Frankly whatever the outcome you shouldn't have to deal with it alone and you'd be robbing him of the accountability that follows. Can someone who fits all the aforementioned criteria but is very girlish in nature, shy, a goody two shoes, sweet and innocent - almost to the point of naive be considered elegant? I think so, but it's a fragile elegance that may not last under the pressure of an awkward situation. A big part of what makes youthful elegance attractive is it's fleeting nature so grasping onto it is bad form. You gain a lot from experience that adds depth and meaning to interactions, in my mind it's a more tempere…

I absolutely think of my mom when I think of class, she dressed well and all that, but it's more than that. Conveying thoughts successfully through facial expression, understanding and responding to subtext in conversation without being on the nose and embarrassing who she was speaking to, responding with subtlety to people who are being overt without losing her edge or blunting her meaning. Most importantly not holding lack of manners against someone just to be a snob. My dad used to run when s…

Was it easy to secure marriage because you refused to live together before marriage? Maybe? I wouldn't say it was easy but marriage wasn't the goal back then. If the logistics of your life require autonomy then you're smart to maintain separate residences. He's older than me so his schedule was much simpler. It was a constant tug of war of expectation vs reality until my graduation was on the horizon because my dad would've castrated him and disowned me if I messed up college. Did you have any m…

If you don't feel safe please please please leave. This breaks my heart. You matter and should feel safe even if you're confused for the moment, if your husband hopes to save this marriage he will contribute to this feeling of safety and bend over backwards to mend things with you.

I just wanted to post and say I'm so sorry for what you're going through. It looks maybe like he feels emasculated by the current financial/job side of things and the baby + housework is meant to "put you in your place." I wouldn't do either under those circumstances, keep your IUD. Also sex shouldn't be rough just to be rough, you can be dominant without trying to break or scare who you're with. It's like he found the angriest guys on TRP and just started trying it out for fun without even cons…

Yay you loved micro, that's a first!! Everyone I was in class with hated it and only took it because they had to rofl. I'm definitely a numbers driven freak though, my daughter tried to pull that "I hate math" stereotypical nonsense in 5th grade and I was like NOPE I'M EXACTLY THE PERSON TO CURE THAT. She's starting HS in Algebra II as a freshman, making numbers behave was easysauce once she got that it's not a mystery. Real talk: I didn't ever use that degree in the wilds of employment, I'm a S…

Be honest about what you've tried, what you've never tried, and what is a hard pass for you in the realm of kink. The only scenarios I can see not ending well is if you go into it like "yeah lets do this!" and then freak out because of an unsaid fear or boundary; or if you straight up don't trust him and do this anyway purely as an effort to please him. Being tentative but willing is just fine. Research any known interests so you have an idea of what to expect and how to manage your comfort leve…

Finance is my degree as well, :fistbump: but I'm a sick individual who loved the boring stuff like microeconomics :) I'm very traditional, I just play well with numbers. I'm not judging you here, or him, so I apologize if I sounded like it. You clearly are ambitious, capable, and have your feet on the ground. You know what the deal is here as you're very articulate. Your instincts seem to indicate he's become a blind spot in your decision making process, I agree. I'd go further to say that he's …

If I were you I'd go to med school and pursue your dream. You're at a crossroads and he's waiting you out, so stop giving him "us" consideration and do what you know will make you happy. FWIW I never lived with my husband before marrying him for this very reason, they get comfortable in your availability and take for granted massive amounts consideration in big decisions like this. It has the potential to hugely cloud your judgment...you're considering a major that you literally hate because you…

I would tone down the overt requests and do a lot more platonic affectionate touching that doesn't have an expectation behind it. I think society has taught men that they're untrustworthy rapists for even holding the hand of someone they've had consensual sex with if they don't explicitly ask for permission first. Eye contact is a microaggression, etc. Being able to relax and not have sex be the metric of everything is probably a relief. I would say even more so if the guy is good looking and us…

Don't get off of it, it's a good soapbox! It reminds me of what my dad said to my husband when we got engaged kind of. That people will fall all over themselves to suck up and tell you in detail how awesome you are when you're successful in business; and then attribute a great relationship to being "lucky" you found the right person. That's bullshit, both aspects of life require deliberate thought and action to get to a desired outcome. "It is what it is" after the ink dries on your marriage lic…

I totally agree. It's exactly how I was raised and while my mom didn't wield shame as a weapon she definitely was thorough and present. I've met a lot of women who shame me for doing the same with a straight face as I'm doing something "regressive" like carpooling their kids because I have the ability and inclination. And healthy snacks. Terrible!

I actually made a throwaway to respond to this (hi!), as it's such a thing now to "celebrate" obesity. From a childhood obesity pov, I think what we're really doing by accepting it is celebrating crappy parenting. Giving ourselves a pass for latch-key kids, buying packaged "quick" foods despite having other quick options like fruit, etc. It does make me sad that a kid hears "You eat too much, sweetie" from strangers when ideally she should be hearing "Food is fuel" from her parents. As SAHM she …
