Loan payments are taken directly out of your paycheque like a tax. The only to never make a payment is either to never get a job that pays you £21k or more or only ever get paid cash in hand.

UK has supermarkets with the same kind of selection, that's in no way unique to the US... in fact one of our supermarkets, Asda, is owned by Wal-Mart. UK has some of the best schools too, see Oxford and Cambridge. We also have some shit ones too. That is also variety. Again none of this is unique to the US. The only thing that is unique to the US is the fact you're the only first world country that doesn't have universal health care.

I don't disagree. I still don't understand OP's leap between "I want to compliment her" and catcalling though.

That's cool, I was just saying when I mentioned trains I was referring to driving not maintaining the tracks. I'll take your word regarding track maintenance since it's your profession. Train drivers will be gone soon tho.

If they're not harming themselves or others they can do what the fuck they like especially once they're 18+. I'd explain by own views, and it's down to them if they choose to adopt them or not. Likely they won't because kids like to rebel against their parents more often than not. That's fine by me. If they chose to be a red piller or a SJW I'd tell them my views on those philosophies (I think they're both extremes and extremes are best avoided) but again it's up to them if they wanna agree with…

Self-driving trains already exist though (e.g. the DLR in London) and they'll become more and more normal over time. Maintaining the railways might be a human job for a while, driving the trains won't. Especially with all the strikes.

Every country has some schools that are good and bad. If you think America has better food than the rest of the world you're literally delusional. If you think your healthcare system is actually good you're even more delusional. Can't really comment on the racism thing, I know that's a massive issue in a lot of European countries as well.

Yeah so your debt is 106% of your GDP, so your debt exceeds your GDP. Japan is doing pretty good though by the looks of it.

Calling Anita a liar and a fraud is merely a statement of fact. She's as much of a con artist as the guy who ran Enron. She got people to give her $150k to make YouTube videos and set a deadline regarding when they'd be finished. That deadline passed long ago, they're still not all done, the production values of the videos are awful, and she even stole gameplay footage from other people which, combined with her awful analysis of the games and the fact she herself said she doesn't like video game…

The 48 Laws of Power. Read them. Follow them. Doesn't matter what your gender is, those tactics will work. Some are easier for men, others for women. However I suspect that overall it'd be easier for women since they are more attuned to social environments and that allows them to more effectively read and manipulate people.

I don't understand your mindset here. Certainly when I see an attractive woman I notice she's attractive, maybe I'll look at her for a bit and tell my mate how fit that girl is. I don't however get some massive overwhelming animalistic urge to catcall her. I don't see where that assumption comes from. If I do talk to her, I'll start a conversation like a normal human being. I see no reason you gotta jump from "I want to compliment this girl" to shouting "WOO WOO LUV DEMS SUM NICE TITTIES" on the…

the personal economic weight of going to college in countries with particularly high tuition rates such as the US and UK. UK doesn't have "particularly high tuition rates", definitely not compared to the US. It's not free either, but most courses are three years and fees are capped at £9k a year. The student loans do not work like private loans - they do not count towards your credit score, you do not start paying them off until you earn at least £21k, and the amount paid to the loans depends on…

Like I said there'd still be humans operating the machines for the near future, AI cannot replace human decision making yet. But having a few blokes operating machines is still better for business than employing a large group of men so I expect it to happen soon.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/15 01:59 PM
4

This is more akin to machines in factories that put cars together, which has only become more intelligent over time. It used to be the cars were put together by hand. Now it's 99% done by machines. I think as far as construction goes you would definitely need some human presence to oversee the projects and make human decisions, because AI can't be trusted that far just yet. But having robots do the heavy lifting instead of having to employ a team of men? I could see that happening very soon. We'…

But now we are now back to the same old "victim blaming" argument you always get. X group of people are criminals who do bad things. Y group of people are innocent people who are not doing all that they could do to lower their risk of being victims. It's all very well saying "X group needs to stop doing the bad thing" but the simple fact of the world is that bad people are always going to be out there. And stalkers in particular are some messed up fuckers, you can't just tell them not to do it a…

I give it a decade max. Remember you don't exactly need some super advanced AI for this stuff. The technology is already in prototype stages. I'd love to be able to go into the construction industry and do that kind of work, it pays well and keeps you fit. But it's not exactly a long term career plan. That said, I'm sure more skilled blue collar professions like plumbing and electricians will employ humans for a good while longer since they would require a more advanced AI before they're fully a…

But /u/wombatinaburrow didn't say "all women want a cat and a degree over a man." She was talking about her own preferences. The statement literally begun with "Personally, I would..." I dunno how you hamster that into a statement about all women.

I really and truly wish this was accurate, but even the most basic jobs are being flooded by applicants with degrees these days. As for manual labour, those jobs will be the next to get automated so enjoy it while you can. Same with driving trucks, buses, trains. Only way to be successful without a degree these days is to be self-employed. And not everyone can hack going into business for themselves.

Vice is a shitty clickbait site. Some of their YouTube videos are good, but overall it's basically Buzzfeed: Edgy Edition. I'm gonna go against TRP here and say most women don't think like the people writing these articles. My mum earns more than my dad and they're still happily married. I've gone out with girls who earned more than me and it was never a big problem in the relationship. I've not seen any evidence in meatspace that this is something most women care about. I feel that if someone is able to track you down in real life then you've put too much PII (personally identifiable information) up on your profiles. I'm not saying this to "victim blame" or whatever, the stalkers are still creepy fuckers. But it's good practice to limit how much PII you put on internet profiles, and I feel social networking sites like FB have made people forget this. On the 90's internet it was pretty much unheard of to put your full name on a profile. Now people are rushing to…

Most people who are harassed online don't bother to report it Another interesting point. What if women are simply a lot more likely to report "online harassment" in the first place? Especially when men are a lot more accustomed to having insults casually flung at them anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/15 08:40 AM

Tyler, The Creator already addressed this long ago. On a more serious note... Young women, those 18-24, experience certain severe types of harassment at disproportionately high levels This seems to be mostly "cyber-stalking" which requires a persistent online presence that's used very often. The rest of it, like getting insulted and embarrassed and physically threatened is mostly neck and neck between the sexes. Well, young women also use social media a lot more for attention whoring compared to…

The key phrase in my comments is "to varying degrees". Sometimes it might not always be obvious, and maybe you need to ask a few more specific questions... Interesting to read your experiences man. see right here you are characterizing my data as bad and yours as good. Yes, because the data I provided is directly related to domestic violence and psychological abuse. The data you provided was about more generic measures of particular emotions. I don't see how you can say I'm not being objective when I am basing my views on multiple scientific studies which are directly related to the subject matter whereas your sources are very generic measures of subjective emotions. Let's say I concede to agree with what you've quoted here, which says women get more guilty when they commit violence. How does that change the fact that, outside of reciprocal violence, women are the perpetrators 70% of the time? It doesn't really matter if they feel gu…

You've never heard "men age like fine wine, women age like milk"? Nope. Not even seen it on TRP. But regardless, that saying doesn't necessarily imply older men are physically attractive. Wealth can improve with age if you're working to improve it and become better at what you do, or build up a reputation Which is exactly what TRP encourages you to do. Many men continue working the same job throughout years and don't have much of career to speak of. It's a good thing TRP places emphasis in build…

It's difficult to discuss the finer details you're bringing up because feminists themselves have very split opinions on these issues. But leaving feminism aside, my experiences still don't support what you're saying about all women having these views. Certainly some do, I'm not claiming they don't exist, but I think only feminists have real opinions on gender roles and feminists are a minority of women (and men). Do you accept the definition of a hypocrisy is holding two mutually exclusive beliefs at the same time that contradict each other in total? How can is it not a contradiction to be "down with gender roles" while at the same time expect gender roles when it suits me? I could say expecting all women to conform to gender roles is bad while still personally want…

What's that bump on my penis? Weird. Why? That's the kind of question that'd be embarrassing to ask irl, so it makes sense to head to the internet where you can ask it anonymously. Same goes for asking why you're not doing as well in sex and relationships as you'd like. Most people won't want to ask that to people they know irl, but are more comfortable asking online where they have a level of anonymity.

Say I said I expect all the women I want be with to be a traditional woman; to cook, clean, etc etc etc, while at the same time saying "down with gender roles!". Would that not be hypocrisy because I only expected this from my girlfriend or wife? No, I don't believe so. I think it'd only be hypocritical if you believed all women should act that way. if one says they are against traditional gender roles they can't have their cake and eat it. I get what you mean, but imo a hypocrisy only exists if this person has an expectation these roles are upheld among all men. If a feminist is saying down to gender roles but expects men to keep to them this is obviously hypocritical. Men are physically stronger, for sure, but if a woman picks up a frying pan and smashes me in the head with it that'll still fucking injure me. Okay this is getting us nowhere, how's about we just look at behaviours among the sexes within the general population? I agree with what /u/bonerdude420 said but if we're only going from women we approached for sex then for me it's pretty high, probably something like 70%. However the small print on this is the number of women I approach in this way in the first place is pretty small and I only do it when I feel she's given me pretty obvious signs she's into me, otherwise it's just not something I do. Look at Sweden, after emasculating all of their men, they open the borders for Muslims That's a massive over-simplification of the issue. The real problem here is the EU as a whole as it is very permissive with who gets through borders of member countries, and once you're an EU citizen you can freely move between them. I also put some blame on Arab Gulf states for not accepting refugees even though it's much more their problem and they're rich as fuck. But saying "X country is being filled with …

I've met women who were rather attractive and they still didn't make a move on very attractive men. Same here. I'm not saying they don't exist. I'm just saying I have absolutely no sympathy for them if they then complain about having no boyfriend when they've not made any effort to get one. That's just entitlement. I think the same of guys who complain about this stuff while making no effort too, I constantly blast them on PPD. No double standards here. Why yes, women are going to line up there …

Its not a woman's role to try to get a man's attention. BS, if some woman is complaining she ain't got a boyfriend but she's not made any effort to actually find one aside from just sit there waiting for the guys to queue up I'm not gonna have any sympathy. Even if you're shy you can do better than that.

I even see guys completely glaze over cute, thin girls that are shy because these girls are not demanding attention And those shy girls don't bother trying to get the attention of the guys either. If they want guys to notice them they should make it happen instead of just waiting. Yes it goes against the norm of the guy approaching, but who cares? In reality though a really shy girl will have trouble doing that just as a shy guy would. Shy people will have a difficult time when it comes to datin…

It's hypothetical yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/15 09:26 AM

Sure, but OP then states the reason for that initial statement is because of women being more emotional. So it's therefore important to separate the two and examine if being more emotional actually does mean being irrational, because that's key to answering OP's question. I gave my personal view (yes I do think being more emotional means being irrational) but I also stated it's subjective because it's really about what value you place on logic vs. emotion.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/15 09:19 AM

This argument makes no sense because murder and theft harm third parties while drinking and smoking don't. If you're going to argue against that and say drinking does harm third parties (which you could in cases of alcoholism) then surely the law should make alcohol illegal for everyone? Prohibition even if limited to certain age groups does not bloody work mate.

Most people would agree women are more likely to be openly emotional and base decisions on emotions compared to men. Female brains literally process emotion differently so I don't think this is controversial. However the wording used here, rational vs. irrational, implies a value judgement whereby emotion is inferior to cold logic. This is where it comes down to a matter of personal views. There are those who prioritise logic over emotion (and I admit I am one), those who prioritise emotion over…

Yeah I feel a lot of people misunderstand manipulation in this way. It's rarely so one sided because human interaction is not that black and white. If a used car is on sale for £2,000 and I bargain it down to £1,500 then that's a win for me. If the seller's bottom price was actually £1,300 then it's also a win for them.

I've definitely met "RP women" in real life. They don't call themselves that and probably don't use Reddit either, but they follow the same kind of ideals as RPW. Lots of women do. My girlfriend is one. They don't fit into the strawman you've described here though.

I get the confusion on this one. It used to be normal for a woman to be submissive. Now that it isn't it's lumped into all the kinky shit. You still like the idea of being submissive, but you don't like all the whips and chains and whatever. You just wanna be submissive in a more traditional sense. That's not uncommon at all, trust me.

As others have said I think it's largely down to the domination aspect, and anal is basically a socially acceptable vanilla way of exploring that kind of thing for people who are scared of being thought of as freaks. Not my thing personally. I'd much prefer to fuck a girl in missionary just as long as I can choke her and slap her and spit in her face and call her a whore all the way through.

Lesbian porn is mostly consumed by women Is it? I always thought women found lesbian porn to be shit because it's targeted at men too much. Anyway, in own experience the vast majority of women are indeed at least somewhat bisexual, but it goes without saying that's hardly scientific.

Ha what I love about attitudes like yours is they just make BDSM hotter. The mere fact it's so taboo makes it more enjoyable. When society makes something bad and dirty it becomes a lot more attractive. To quote Frankie Boyle: "I vote we re-criminalise homosexuality... so that I can feel more dirty when I do it."

Right. But read through that link, if doctors even dare to suggest dieting might help their problems they go apeshit.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/15 04:50 PM

You're still ignoring a major point here. We seem to agree the majority of people do not find fat attractive. So how could fat acceptance possibly teach fat people they're "worthy of love" without implying some type of change in the preferences of others?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/15 04:49 PM
1

Haha now that was clever, I'll give that to you. I expected those questions were leading to some kind of "gotcha" scenario but I didn't see that coming. I don't think I'm judgemental of others though. I don't think most people are inherently bad or doing anything to intentionally harm me. I just tend to find them annoying, like I said, so I don't choose their company if they're strangers. And yes I quite rightly think most of them will judge me and my friends for what we do, surely we can agree …

Yeah I went off topic a bit, should have checked context and stuck to the original topic more tbh. I don't see how that is at all disproving that good CEOs follow 48 Laws. Nothing in this is too radical either. For example: "We have a responsibility to our employees to recognize their dignity as human beings," Packard said Felix Dennis said pretty much the same thing. His reasoning being that talented employees are a very important resource to a business, so looking after them is important. High staff turnover is bad for business after all. But if you read his book in which he describes how h…

I'm gonna ask you one more time. You started this debate off by stating Jobs was in the minority and most successful people do not act like him. So can you please tell me some real life examples of CEOs who do not act as the 48 Laws states instead of linking me to merely theory? tit for tat evidence - http://www-personal.umich.edu/~axe/research/TitForTat.pdf How is this "evidence"? dark triad types are unhappy people - http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0191886914000130 Completely…

you can skip that paywall screenwall by clicking the x box in the right corner of the paywal pop up. Doesn't work for me, just says "you have read 5/5 free articles for the month" even though I've literally never been on that site before. That's some bad coding. and here are other articles from the same author on the topic - http://www.jimcollins.com/article_topics/articles-leadership.html Can you link me to a specific article? I'm not gonna read everything the guy wrote just to hunt for the evi…

this researcher has found the best leaders are humble, not arrogant - https://hbr.org/2005/07/level-5-leadership-the-triumph-of-humility-and-fierce-resolve Paywall. Got another link? I would suggest though that it's very easy to appear humble when you actually aren't. Jobs did this to an extent since he was hardly out to deliberately make a celebrity of himself, and he never referred to himself as a genius or anything like that - he let his actions do the talking. All of this is in the 48 Laws a…

i think you will find only the minority of successful people operate with those rules. Examples? there have been empirical studies on successful business leaders, and i think you will find they are not in line with those rules. Sauce? Many CEOs are sociopaths. Exactly the people who already do this kind of shit naturally. you wont maintain long term business relationships and friendships if you follow these rules. Why not? I don't think the laws are helpful for friendships, but they're pretty mu…

I mean if you look at the rules, then look at any successful person, you can usually match up most of those rules to that person's behaviour, and if you go out into the world and use the rules for yourself you will find it becomes piss easy to manipulate others if you execute it correctly. The only exception to this is people who are also aware of the manipulation tactics. Those people are very difficult to manipulate. So, if you have an interest in avoiding being a target for manipulation, lear…

I learnt the 48 Laws way before I even heard of "the red pill" (outside of The Matrix) and it is pretty much entirely true. It shows you the elements of human socialising no one talks about.

Only because assisted suicide is still illegal. If people with painful illnesses had an option to die painlessly with very little chance of failure many would take it. Society is just uncomfortable with that.

blame the person taking the pill That's kind of the whole point. Taking responsibility for yourself. "You were doing X wrong, you need to do Y."

If you don't try to do something, you will never succeed at that thing. Most people, at least in my experience, do not even bother exercising let alone engaging in any other form of self-improvement. It makes sense to me that those who try have a much higher chance of succeeding than those who don't. I think you're right that it can't work for everyone though. Even some RPers will admit that themselves. Not everyone can be successful, and some people are just too deep in their failure to accept …
