NEVER bring a man in your place. If things don’t work out, your own personal INTIMATE space will remind you of him. The couch you sat with him and watched Netflix, cuddling for hours? You’ll cry buckets when you sit on it. Your own bed will feel empty now that he’s gone. You get the gist. My new bf lives in another city and I don’t accept him in my house nor travel to his(yet). Instead, he books fancy places when he comes to see me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/03/20 12:31 PM

Write him a letter listing all the pros and cons. Be ruthless. Maybe sure you invalidate all his pros from a rational point of view (example: I thought my ex was intelligent and liked to read, then I realised he only cared for books if he could show off to other people that he was superior). Then read it to yourself. Don’t ever give it to him.

Yeah, LVM are very manipulative and insecure. My exs brother once asked me how I handle our age difference (I was 24 and he was 31) and I jokingly said that sometimes I feel more mature than him. He yelled at me once we were alone and kept going on how I was disrespecting him and shit. I look out for this stuff now.

Me and my new bf don’t have much of a choice than to go out and try to steer in places that aren’t crowded. He lives in a different city and I refuse to have him over at mine or go to his city(even tho we are sleeping together). It’s alright for now but we might have some change of plans. I would NOT be going on dates with new people. If we hadn’t started knowing eachother for like 5-6 months, I wouldn’t do this.

That’s exactly why we need to live our lives to the fullest and always be able to go independent. Of course we will have to rely on men but we also need to be able to leave in aheartbeat if the situation calls.

I’m wax-4-life because it makes me feel amazing. My hair down there is straight and course and it get irritated at the slightest growth(i can’t even have a landing stripe), so not having any works for me. If i could have some, I’d go for a clean neat trim.

You will see, they come out at the most unexpected times. Just focus on you and seek validation from other sources like family, friends, community, etc.

Stop looking. They will come to you. I never believed this in the past and I’d look for guys and look very desperate. I stopped looking after my ex and I’ve over 10 guys approach me in the span of 4 months. That being said, you can start going to dance classes or get into hobbies so you attract guys you want. It works.

I lived in the engineering campus when I was doing my masters and 80% of them were LVM. Not showering, playing video games for hours, not entertaining any intellectual topics other than the ones they wanted, etc. I had nerd bfs and some were LV, some HV. Honestly, I believe that if nerds could charm women, most would definitely be fuckboys. Let’s not stereotype them as nice guys because they don’t have options. Edit: also was listening to a guy for hours while he was talking about stuff he was p…

Tattoo the bad times in the back of your mind. I still keep one photo of my ex. It’s him taking a selfie smiling with me (my back turned to the camera) crying. It’s there to look at and remind me that it doesn’t matter how many grand romantic memories we made, as long as he was willing to humiliate me. I look at that and remember the bad times. Suddenly, my nostalgia is gone and I feel stronger.

He used to drive me to my job so he knows well enough where it is. At this point I’m just ready to call the police of I see him anywhere too suspicious. He also knows I will do that so it is ok. I’m safe as it is. Thank you for caring 💛

I am a cat person too and no. Unfortunately, if I tried to get her, I’d have to go through small claims court. If he gets served, he will make her “disappear”. She reminds him of me, that’s why he did this. It still hurts me to look at pictures of her.

Beware of Rose Tinted Glasses in this case. My ex was never the type for marriage or children before he met but he made it clear that he wanted to marry me and get me pregnant around 6-7 months in. He was a LVM so when I wouldn’t act like he wanted me to, he would ‘reconsider’ those and go back and forth. The Rose Tinted Glasses I had were very strong so I struggled a lot with this, including a mini-depression and sporadic suicidal thoughts (eg when he would yell at the top of his lungs at me an…

And I absolutely agree with that! I believe that if the distribution of work is done decently, all is good. Imo if the mother is the one doing all night time feedings, she should never have to drive herself anywhere and the father should be the one responsible for driving, errands, cleaning, etc. during the day and also spending time with his offspring. Parents need to work together as a whole.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/02/20 10:59 AM
3

Galls, don’t take it the wrong way but I kind of agree with the fact that responsibility distribution is subjective to the family needs. As an example, if the husband is utilising heavy machinery as his day job and would be in a position where sleep deprivation could affect or even kill people around him, I would be understanding if he wasn’t involved in waking up at night to care for the baby. If he’s a shitty dad that won’t even change a diaper or won’t help at all, he can get in the bin.

I did take it to the vet. I have registered her under my name. The police officers told me that because he bought it, I can’t remove it from the house. I have to go through small claims court and serve him. I know that this is what he wants and he’ll “forget” an open window the day he gets served, to say she “ran away”. He’s playing games at the moment.

I moved in with my ex too early. Split everything 50/50 even tho he was making around 50% more than me. When we moved in I was unemployed so he shouldered most stuff, with my family sensing me some money. He held me accountable for every penny even if I was home to wait for furniture delivery, organised the whole house and tried my best through a mini-depression. He would say “I view us as equals” after demanding me to put on makeup, policing how I dress, confiscating the cigarettes and giving m…

I am quite scared of this prospect. I don’t currently have anyone that would be able to watch veronica but I will meet some acquaintances tonight... maybe they’d be able to help me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/12/19 03:35 PM

Erm no, I have him watch it because I can’t afford a sitter and don’t have friends who can. If anything, I avoid him 99% and in the rest is because he tries to engage me in conversation. As an example, he texts me domestic stuff, house related, most times and I leave him on read.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/12/19 03:34 PM
2

Yeah, I’m also alright with leaving the kitten because he manages to uphold a certain image of himself in front of others. If something happened to the kitten, his image would be shattered. Definitely narcissistic.

Give it no power. Repeat to yourself that you don’t want someone like him ever again. I can contact my ex on all social media AND live in the same house as him. Don’t feel anything when I look at him.

Get a personal trainer if you can? It’s the only thing that got me on track. I’m currently over 10kg lost in about 2 months and it’s building my motivation to go alone as well. The right person will make it feel nice too, even if it’s hard.

You are probably not going to like this but he will NEVER change. You enable him. Best thing for you is to be ruthless. He already established that he won’t support you in life (his money vs your money) and he doesn’t deserve you. Leave the mofo. Better single and miserable than miserable because of your man.

I don’t date men who: play video games don’t have respect don’t like animals hate children (mostly in a ‘can’t stand them’ sense) don’t tale care of themselves don’t give me attention and affection
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/12/19 12:51 PM
28

He doesn’t deserve you. When this happens to me I always make a point of asking myself: Do I really feel bad because he’s gone or because my ego is hurt? If he really would treat me like this, is he actually the man I think he is? Do I even want to be with someone like that?

Thankfully, I am not. The only reason I am still there is the cat. I would have broken the lease in a heartbeat if not for her. It’s hard finding rent with a cat... My family is in another country tho. I am planning to just leave in January, just trying to sort the cat out at the moment. I’m mot leaving her behind. I am thankful that it is under control.

It’s a shitty situation where he could become abusive but I’m avoiding him 100% of the time until I move, so it’s not as bad. I feel sort of safe, in the sense that I can call police and have friends ready to jump him but I dislike violence.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/12/19 12:41 PM

I stopped using dating apps now. It’s going surprisingly better in terms of men, attention and relationships. I feel that it takes away the sense that I am “available “ so the ones I met IRL are working harder than any tinder boys I met.

I still live with my ex. It got to the point where I’m afraid of him. I’m telling him I’m moving out with my cat at the start of January (I am going home over Christmas for 2 weeks). It only gets shittier. Get his stuff, pop it into boxes, when he comes back have him pick it up. Shoulder the rent or move,

It could also be that she wanted to contribute as well. Don’t feel inferior, I’m sure you could’ve tipped 50% and she still might’ve done this. It’s a thing with high income. I am not high income but my parents are and they ALWYAS offer to pay and leave tips when they go out(with me, my SO, my brother and his SO or their dear friends). It makes my mum happy to contribute with cash/little presents to people she holds dear. She does do it sensibly tho!!

Depends how much you want to splurge. I love gifting people (family, friends, so etc.) so I’d pay £50 for a nice 50ml fragrance at this point. But oifyou don’t wanna spend, make something with your own hands.

I am on your boat. I have an HVM kitten and I swear she gave me so much more love and affection than possible when I went through my break up. Caring for her, feeding her, cleaning her stuff and enjoying her love helped me more than I could’ve imagined.

I’m at work now. I will call a support line before I get home but since he hasn’t laid a hand on me yet, I’m not sure if they can help. I’m also afraid that he will hurt my cat if I just disappear (don’t even know where I would go), and she is my baby and doesn’t deserve it. I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I think a couple of day’s gaps is quite a lot. What’s the meet ‘n greet frequency like? It’s literally as you said: a simple ‘i’ll chat to you a bit later’ goes a long way. Just trust yourself. If you accept behaviour that you don’t like, you WILL end up resenting it.

Yeah, I get that, actually. I suppose I just try to surround myself with good quality people (mostly good quality role model women) and call out the misogynists on the spot then never interact with them again after the fact. Because we are not men? Girl, chill and act like the diamond you are, not like cubic zirconia. Edit: just realised i sound a bit passive aggressive, it’s morning here so I will blame it onto the lack of coffee. What I mean is: you are a diamond. He might not have much game but if a guy said “you might not like me” I’d get bad vibes too. Maybe he didn’t know what to say? He definitely wants to say something you’d want to hear. I know what you are doing, I’m just telling you to stop!! Being sassy is a lot better. Hit him with a light joke, some light flirts, never make yourself seem under. I used to do this too and my ex got overly confident and arrogant. He thought he could stop liking me at any time. So now I do the opposite: “everyone …

Breakup happened a couple of days before his birthday. I took time off work for it. So I went home to my mom. I got angry instead of sad. I made a list of everything negative he did to me (long one). He was the one to text first and would so it daily. At the moment he texts me first every other day because I also started text first when I saw he wasn’t. I get the feel that he believes I will text/call him if he doesn’t as the girls he was with usually tend to do that.

Honestly, this mentality is what got me into splitting dates, rent, furniture costs, etc on a man and a house I’ll leave before a 1 year mark. In hindsight, I wish I never agreed to pay anything as his ‘equality’ was a shitty manipulation tactic. I aways had to wear makeup (even for a coffee date or a walk) and wasn’t even allowed to dress and talk how I wanted anyway. But hey “we need to be equal and SPLIT ALL THE COSTS, YOU PROFITING WOMAN” If you can, live on yo damn own.

While I think that “rape culture”, “patriarchy”, etc terms are counterproductive, this is such a valid story. Just because another woman is older/interested in women/“profiting” off of men does not make her a HVW or even worth listening to. I truly hope you are able to protect your friend and also help her see why being a PickMe, like her sister, would/could severely damage her life. I’d report the creepo to the police asap and maybe threaten him with jail.

To be honest, I don’t really care if they can’t cum with condoms. You knew the terms before we got down to it, if you don’t enjoy it, let’s not have sex! I can’t use pills and the implants mess my sustem up so bad that I don’t even recognise myself. I’d rather not put my body though that, thanks. All I can say to the male lurkers: we don’t always orgasm but we can still enjoy it, maybe try to enjoy the sex without thinking of the finalisation?

Yeah, they exist but that doesn’t make them HMV’s.

My ex used to climb on me when I didn’t want sex. I just laid there motionlessly because it was better than dealing with his passive aggressive shit. I still remember how uncomfortable/almost pained I felt, staring him blankly in the eyes until he got turned off and left me alone. It is a horrible feeling. I don’t call it rape but it was definitely a violation.

I am exactly like you and it is hard. What I started doing is being somewhat deliberately ambiguous with how I feel. In a sense of: ‘i like you but how much? What you hear from reading between the lines is that I don’t love you, you are not always on my mind, I have a life, yet I enjoy talking to you. Your company pleases me. But if you screw it ip, I’ll be over it in heartbeat’. All with a warm attitude. This makes the dude seek me out. I do like him but I’m not sure I want him so I have the po…

I was an app user for most of my dating life. Even my ex I met on Tinder. 2 months ago I started going out to have fun, not find men and the attention I received is amazing. You don’t need apps save for an ego boost. You don’t need them at all. It’s all about how you come across. There is something intrinsically desperate about actively setting up a profile to find men. It puts you at a disadvantage and it’s easier for them to disregard you. Best of luck, sis!

Like they all want wholesome women but if they are older than 30... hell breaks lose. I mean, if it was a 20-30yo they would call her a gold digger LMFAO you just can’t win.

I don’t know what men you met but I don’t know one who didn’t love it when the expensive smell of cherry blossoms and roses hit their nostril hair. And anyway, I mostly do it for me too, I feel gosh darn amazing when I smell like a diamond.

It’s just hard when I’m a giraffe (5’10) and I get a gobsmacked shortie trying to woo me with ‘i’d climb you like a pole’... like dude. And they call me shallow because I want to be able to feel protected and attracted by/to a guy? Of course I’d rather a guy be 6’6 and sweeping me off my feet than holding your 5’5 hand while we cross the street...

For best skin find a dermatologist and get some treatments. Go shopping and get a friend or employee (who is willing) to help find the best clothes (e.g. boxy waist? Choose shirts that are large around the stomach to hide it/give the impression it’s tiny; or you got a pear shaped body? Puffy shoulder sleeves!) Teach yourself how to emphasise your features with makeup (heart shaped face: either or both eyes and lips can be bold/ square jaw: emphasise eyes and wear your hair down, lips should be m…

Amen sister. I always had a weird feeling when my now ex would proudly tell me how many chicks checked him out/wanted him/flirted/grabbed his ass in the club/etc. but I am 24 and he is 31 and I always thought he knew better... that I was just too young... thank God and back I found this sub!!!

Oh wow, your hobby sounds amazing! I just started driving lessons and gym so I’m usually a tad busy. I need to get back into painting but I only do it at home and he’s usually there. I think I’ll just try to suggest to him to work more of his second job(part time evening delivery) so that I don’t have to see him that often... hopefully it’ll get better. As for the control I do reject it, I just have to play nice and be somewhat agreeable so I don’t get hurt if he’s in a bad mood because of the r…

Oh god, he sounds like a psycho narcissist! I’m so happy for you that you got away. Right now for me it’s hard because he still believes that he can control my behaviour and he is trying to manipulate me when I defend myself, saying that ‘he doesn’t deserve my bad attitude’ and that i am acting very badly towards him. I just tell him that we are not together anymore and that if he leaves me alone I will never bother him. I need to pick up more hobbies!

Yes!! But only guys that are 0% interested in me romantically (and I am 0% interested in them). Otherwise doesn’t really work.

That sounds horrible, I’m so glad you are rid of them now. Don’t rush, I think it’s better to be single than unhappy. My ex is being overly touchy and EXTREMELY passive aggressive if I say something. I’m trying to set boundaries but not upset him too much as he’s on steroids and I’m scared he might get downright aggressive if pushed. I’ll have to move before I find someone else or I don’t know what will happen.

My ex told me something quite valuable: whoever asks out the other person has to pay. He says “hey babe let’s go there” or “i am taking you out”, he should pay. On this side if you say “hey babe there’s this restaurant/museum/aqua park I’ve been DYING to go to” then you pay. It seems equitable for him, even though I am also a firm believer that men should pay. It’s just nice and shows interest from their side, especially if they earn significantly more.

Be confident. Also, take care of all aspect of yourself. We are women and our image is EXTREMELLY important! Make sure your hair and skin look healthy. A bonus (IMO, I love smells) would be to have some bomb perfumes. Not cherry spray or deodoranth, I’m talking amazing perfumes! (Anyone DM me if you want any suggestions, I can recommend a couple, you cam get testers and see which you like; current fav: Amouage Love Blossom). Why am I saying perfume? I’m a 7 out of 10. I am overweight but my pass…
