It is not a "need."

Hey I'm actually banned from TRP but I'm coming back here just to tell you to stop being a whiny bitch. Going a year or more without sex is nothing. Most guys don't have sex nearly as often as you think. There are millions of 20-something virgins out there. Go over to /r/ deadbedrooms and see all the guys who are fucking married but still can't get annual pity sex. Sex is not a necessity. You won't die without it. Stop putting the pussy on a pedestal. If you're so horny that you can't focus on s…

You actually included it at the end of your post: attention whoring / social validation. Every college girl has an instagram account, twitter, or facebook where she posts mediocre pictures just to see how many likes she can get. I know girls who have Tinder just to see how many matches they can "score." Social validation is women's greatest joy and greatest craving.

Yeah I think that 20 years from now we'll be like Japan, MGTOWs everywhere enjoying the fruits of their labor (video games, ridiculous motor vehicles, etc.) while crying inside because they've never known a woman's love, single post-wall women bitching about "where have all the good men gone," etc. It's already starting.

Idk about that. We see that the average man will lower his standards quite a bit, so if 90% of women are fat, he'll just take a fat chick instead of being forever alone. The average guy might not like her being fat, but he'll still accept it if that's his only option. Actually, that already is reality, except the average guy doesn't get the fat chick because she believes she's an 8 and deserves a 6' doctor with abs or a college quarterback hedge fund manager as her birthright.

I'm on the verge of going full monk but it's been months since last hooking up with a girl and the built up sexual tension is becoming very distracting to the rest of my life. You know you can jerk off, right? Not hooking up is just life for at least 80% of guys, and they survive.

Basically you're saying that we should apply morality to sex, but we have to keep quiet about it. We can't stand up for our beliefs (because that would be "broknighting" - a ridiculous term). I guess that's a balance or middle ground, but it's not something many people will be happy with. (edit because I saved too soon) I see this debate as concerning the direction TRP will take in the future. A large group here think of TRP as an animalistic, hedonistic, and largely nihilistic approach to life …

Sounds like you may have been trying too hard. The whole point of acting semi-douchy is to make it seem like you consider yourself above her, like she's not worth your time. She'll wonder why she isn't good enough for your attention and try to get it. But if you're negging her super hard and constantly insulting her she's going to realize you're into her just as much as the guy who constantly compliments her, and if she knows she's already got your attention, she's not going to work for it.

I'll put it this way. I think TRP is right about a lot of things. I think its basic account of dating is largely correct. But the community here has become god-awful. So many fanatics and extremists, lots of guys trying so hard to prove how not insecure they are, alleged alphas scribbling pseudo-intellectual posts to brag about their notch count, feminism-style hypocrisy, all the "dark triad" nonsense that glorifies being an asshole... etc. etc. Censorship and mod abuse are pretty much the last …

So the official TRP policy is to censor people for "shaming"? I'm pretty sure they have that same policy over in /r/TwoX and /r/feminism. Since when does TRP have censorship and Thought Police? I'm not going to attack your claim that anything a person does sexually is off-limits to morality—even though I think that's wrong—but the fact that you're going to actually ban any user who disagrees with your interpretation or TRP is taking things too far. Totally agreed. OP just denies that morality exists when it is convenient for him... what's more, he actually considers that a good thing, as if being a moral relativist or nihilist makes him special or enlightened. This subreddit is starting to remind me of /r/atheism and I'm visiting here less and less. Is there really a /r/ ForeverAlone community? I don't think it's a cohesive group, and many people only post and subscribe ironically. "What % of single women today have online dating profiles?" LOL. I think it's a good question. Not a lot of girls are going to admit that they use Tindr, etc., for hookups (at least not to average guys), so the number could be astronomical and we'd never know it.
/r/TheRedPill21/12/14 11:34 PM
13

Above-average guys do amazingly well in online dating. No, only the top 20% or less, and saying "everyone should just be better than 80% of guys" is nonsensical. And even if you're just referring to us on TRP, not everyone has the genetics, opportunity, high status family background, etc., to be top 20%.

Getting a Kindle can help you read more because it's more convenient and you can just pirate all the books you want for free. Also, don't feel compelled to read every shitty book someone on TRP recommends. A lot of it is either snake-oil self-help shit or just a waste of time: "I spent the last year reading the complete works of Niccolo Machiavelli, am I Dark Triad now guys??"

You have to think of the big picture. Being labeled a bigot, misogynist, etc., can be death. The CEO of Mozilla was fired for donating a small amount of money to a conservative cause.

I definetely agree about the nofap. It shoots your testosterone through the roof! [citation needed] In all seriousness, there is not a single scientific study that shows a strong relationship between testosterone levels and masturbation, except that one that shows a temporary increase in T on the 7th day, and that used a tiny sample size. Then there's also the question of what T levels actually do.
/r/TheRedPill18/12/14 05:10 AM
5

Nofap is 90% placebo effect. However, I still think everyone should try it once because it shows you how confident and disciplined you can be, and since the no fap part doesn't have much to do with it, you can carry that newfound confidence with you once you start masturbating again.

I don't buy this. You're like those people who basically say "why can't depressed people just start being happy?" or "why don't the poor just get rich?" Sure, people have to work to improve themselves, but let's not trivialize their problems by pretending they can just flip a switch and fix everything, and that if they don't flip that imaginary switch they must be lazy or otherwise defective.

Yeah this post is simply pathetic, and I think it shows the decline TRP has experienced in at least the past year or so. OP is whining that he doesn't like mainstream pop music... is there any opinion more common or pretentious than that? Pop music is upbeat, lowest common denominator shit. That should be obvious. They play it in public places because it will appeal to more customers than any other genre. Not exactly rocket science. There's also the fact that 90% of these songs' popularity just …

You're right. I think the concept comes from NLP. Your frame is the way that you structure sensations into a meaningful view of the world; it's your basic belief system that you use constantly. Everyone has their own frame, and in interactions between people one person's frame is usually forced onto the other(s) so that the other(s) admit things that they don't really believe. Women want a guy to be strong and unchanging, so it's better for him to have his worldview dominate others' (i.e., "main…

30ish is actually peak SMV for most guys, you just have to deal with the possible stigma a college girl will experience for hooking up with an "old rando". If her friends won't find out and ridicule her for breaking the social code, she'll be all over you.

Reading too much TRP can definitely harm you. The fact is that reading 1000 pages about game has the same value as one hour of actually practicing it, and many guys here use sites like TRP as an excuse to not actually go out there and try: "I'm not ready yet. OP's 900 words can be condensed to 3: "sex feels good." That isn't especially groundbreaking or ingenious, so I have to agree with you that this post is receiving attention not because it's good, but simply because it's not about feminism.
/r/TheRedPill01/12/14 04:48 PM

Idk man this 900 word essay can be summed up as "sex feels good," which is something we already know. In my opinion it's not an especially useful post, just a very long-winded one.

Because if guys could just swear off women, the human race would have died out a long time ago. You're always going to have a sex drive and want a mate. That's evolution. Like the other guy said, find something you're passionate about. Some sort of hobby that you can really get into. That will distract you and give meaning to your life so you're not always wanting to chase girls. Of course, finding a passion is also quite difficult, but that's life.

There's no problem with gaming to relax. Just like junk food, masturbation, etc., the key is moderation. Remember that you're not here to follow some red pill 10 commandments of how other people say you should live your life, you're here because you want to be happy. If gaming an hour per day makes you happy, then do it. Personally I used to game for multiple hours per day but just got bored of it after a couple years. I can't count the number of times I've fantasized about packing up here and moving to a third world country. America seems fucked, and my life here isn't that great either. Oh yeah, I will never ever get married. The thing that scares me is it seems like even regular LTRs aren't worth it anymore either. Why should I invest my time, money, and emotions in a girl who's just going to hop on another dick as soon as I show any sort of weakness or she gets bored and "unhappy"? Feminism has destroyed pair bonding in general.

This is a difficult issue man. On the one hand, you could get ripped, buy some tall boots, and practice game until you're as good as most tall guys naturally are. After years of work you might even be a bona fide alpha. On the other, you could just do MGTOW and not give a fuck anymore. Why waste all this time just to get laid? I fucking hate this travel thing. I have too much debt and responsibility to travel around the world for stories to tell on first dates. And it seems like every college girl has been to at least one third world country on some sort of liberal world saving mission or to "find herself", so being a normal guy who doesn't travel the world seems boring to them.

You know who else is 5'6" and bald? Neil Strauss, aka Style, perhaps the most famous pickup artist since Casanova. Shortness and baldness aren't a death sentence. Sure, they makes things harder, but you can overcome them. I may also be going bald... not sure yet. If I am, I'm just going to be a man and shave it. Looks are everything... "Tinder game" is almost an oxymoron. OP could have had any 5-10 message exchange with these chicks and as long as he ended with "what's your number?" he'd always get the #close. The fake conversation thing is just so she can rationalize giving you her number without feeling like a complete slut. I agree about the self help and seduction books. Unless you're trying to memorize routines or something, they're basically just the same couple basic ideas repeated ad nauseam. Other books are just a kernel of helpful ideas buried under massive amounts of bullshit. The way I see it (which I admit may be wrong), it's not even that a high count indicates inherent sluttiness, but simply that a high count ruins the girl regardless of what she was like to start with. Right, attraction is a complicated mix of looks, status, social proof, confidence, game, etc., and you can overcome deficiencies in one department by excelling in another, to some extent.

"Just be yourself" can be useful insofar as it raises your confidence. For instance, I can imagine a situation where a girl prefers a guy who is honestly passionate about the intellectual challenge of Starcraft 2 and doesn't give a fuck if people think that's nerdy to a stockbroker (i.e., objectively high SMV) who's sheepish, insecure, and obviously putting on an act to impress women.

A lot of the responses are actually quite reasonable. It seems like some women are actually starting to accept responsibility for their actions (or at least demanding that other women accept responsibility for their actions). The obvious answer is that natural sex hormones encourage you to want sex, and then when you have an orgasm, whether or not it's inside a woman, those hormones subside, temporarily lowering your sex drive. Why exactly men have this refractory period, I'm not sure. Maybe some biologist or doctor can help us out.

A lot of TRP finds its theoretical backing in evolutionary psych, so attempts to undermine it should start there. Basically, if you can prove that learned romantic concepts and behaviors ("true love," "the One," women being attracted to non-alpha traits like sensitivity, etc.) can override evolved ones like hypergamy, you have opened a space to refute AWALT and show that the world can operate in a Disney fairy tale kind of way. Obviously a woman's mind is the product of both nature and nurture, …

I think text game is going to evolve because texting is now a lot of people's primary form of communication. Many girls have been texting 24/7 for years and consider it normal to keep in touch with people that way, so the standard advice of "just send her a date and place, don't use verbs or anything or you'll look like a tryhard and get friendzoned" doesn't always apply.

First, I'll say that powertalk is perhaps the most overhyped concept on TRP. Just like "monk mode," guys constantly post about it and analyze it without actually accomplishing much. That's the 80/20 rule: 80% of girls sleep with 20% of guys. If you're not in that top 20% in looks, you'll need to work for it. Oneitis is bad. Neil Strauss aka "Style" is short and bald. Doesn't stop him. You seem to think that being fat is the only thing that was keeping you from getting laid, so now that you're fit and still not getting girls you think it's hopeless. Well that's not how it works. I'm interested to see how this thing with technology will play out in the coming years. Girls are being raised in the world of social media, so does not having a Tinder/Snapchat/Facebook/Instawhatever make you a "creep," or does it set you apart from all the beta orbiters who feed her attention 24/7 through her phone? You'd think that nothing can beat the in-person, physical attraction that has been used for thousands of years, but social media have changed society in profound ways, so idk.

Also, a ton of fashion advice you'll find online seems designed for a certain kind of guy: suit-wearing professional, rich, urban, aged 25-40. Guys are more emotionally stable and less likely to report emotional problems than women are. A girl who cries in public once a week just has a "dramatic" life, a guy who does that would be sent to the psych ward. Interestingly though, suicides among middle-aged men are skyrocketing since the economy tanked. Of course you don't hear about that in the media... they're too busy fabricating "rape culture" and "misogyny" to report on actual health issues.

Abundance mentality is basically "plenty of fish in the sea." If these chicks demand too much effort, you move on and find others. It's like the supply/demand curve in economics... if you realize that you have many similar options, the value of any particular option decreases. Reddit loves her because she's just an average curvy woman. Compared to the other girls you can see naked online, she's bottom of the barrel.

The thinking is that by acting like a top 20% guy the girl will think that maybe you are one. Obviously isn't going to work if you're hideous, but otherwise it might make her take a second look and reevaluate, thinking that she's missing something. Being confident implies that you have something to be confident about (even if you really don't).

This issue crosses gender boundaries... student loans are seriously fucking over our country. Teachers, parents, the government, and college recruiters all push 18 year old kids to take out massive amounts of debt, and you can't really blame the kid when he makes what everyone says is the best choice. Then four years later he's unemployed and is drowning in debt... if he went to one of those "prestigious" private schools he might be $200,000 in the hole, with no hope of paying it back. The gover…

Like the others have said, don't romanticize it. Don't get embarrassed, make it into a big deal, or reveal your feelings for her. Make her seem like an afterthought: the point of the date isn't to spend time with her, but to do something else, and her presence will merely enhance it (or at least that's the attitude you need to convey). Practice makes perfect, and don't feel bad about getting rejected. Even the great pickup artists you read about only have like a 50% success rate.

I also have this issue and I think it's a fairly serious problem. Women want to follow a man, so they'd much rather be taken by him than just meet him someplace, or--worse yet--have to pick him up and drive him. I think the only way around it is to seem uninterested / aloof / not that into her, so she feels like she's serving and chasing you rather than driving your poor ass around. You have to seem independent, and even make her think she's dependent on you, despite there being obvious evidence…

You best be believing in gender wars, you're in one! Exactly. Why is it considered morally wrong for a man to lie about his income? Because it makes it harder for women to find true alphas. Simple as that. "Bad for me" becomes "evil," just like Nietzsche said. But of course women wearing makeup and heels, lying about their partner count, etc., is perfectly acceptable. That double standard really shows who makes the rules.

There's also the fact that most young professionals have to take the first (and perhaps only) job they can get and then use all their income for student loan payments. Recent posts on TRP have talked about how to become a "top 10%" man. While I agree that that's important, what is more important is that you strive to become what YOU want to be. Agreed. By definition, only 10% of guys are ever in the top 10%. It's simply not a realistic goal for most of us. Most of these accusations occur from regretted sex, and if you're an alpha, she won't regret having sex with you. Even if you're a total asshole, as long as you're hot enough your having sex with her raises her social status, so she's fine with it. I read her argument as "if rape jokes are okay, then this is okay, where 'this' means the forced-fatherhood-plus-joke situation." It depends on how you interpret it I guess

Like I agree that guys who overdo the "bro" thing (mostly frat members) can be annoying, but idk why she needs to complain to the Internet about it. Is she used to controlling and belittling her brother and now he won't take shit from her? Is that why she's mad? I don't get it.

Well the girl in the story didn't just joke about forced fatherhood, she actually did it and then tried to make a joke out of it. Most people who tell rape jokes aren't actually rapists. I guess you can just say she's a shitty comedian.

Some of the posts are kinda hilarious, the way these chicks get offended by anything and need the Internet to tell them what they should think/feel. But then you go to the comments and see them all feeding into each other's insanity, and it's just disgusting. I guess it's fascinating from an anthropological point of view. Incel suffering is totally psychological. Sure, you have a sex drive, but an active sex life isn't a requirement for well-being. Instead, these guys suffer because they're still putting women on a pedestal and basing their self-worth off of how people perceive them. They aren't depressed because they aren't having sex, they're depressed because they think of themselves as guys who aren't good enough to achieve sex (and the right kind of sex/girl). I think the frequency of actual rape is extremely low, probably much less than 1 in a couple hundred women. Feminists inflate the numbers by including regretted and/or drunken sex, and once you start imagining "what if" scenarios all logic goes out the window. Depending on what they mean by "nearly," anywhere from 0.1% to 100% of women have been "nearly raped."

They'd never do an all-woman ticket Idk if Hillary counts as female. I think the republicans have a good chance in 2016. Feminism is invading the tech industry. Women see money and headlines to be made, so now they're trying to get a portion of what those "creeps," nerds, and losers spent their lives building. And betas within the industry are letting it happen because their target customers are young people who believe in this shit ("equality," "diversity," etc). Literally anything can be "misogynistic." It's a label women apply to targets they want publicly shamed. The word has no meaning beyond that whatsoever. Compare to "creepy." It can be useful to sort out women though. As soon as a girl says "misogynist" or "bigot," I'm done with her, as it shows that she prescribes to the selfish, leftist herd mentality that so many of our generation suffer from.

I'm definitely not a fat acceptance guy, but I think you should also kinda feel bad for these people. As far as being healthy goes, we have a lot of stuff conspiring against us. First, there's just good old evolution. We have an extremely strong natural urge to eat fatty, salty, and sweet foods which was great back in our caveman days but sets us up for disaster now. Unfortunately now that I'm thinking about, it might not apply to the law school. It might only be for colleges. Affirmative action is a HUGE problem in law school admissions. If you don't believe me, go look up the extremely low numbers a "URM" can get into top schools with. I've found that the best thing to do is value a woman only insomuch as she can do something for me, whether that's sex, money, connections, or something else. I only consider her feelings when I need to manipulate them. I treat girls always as a means, and never as just an end. Why? Because that works best for me, and that's how women have always treated me. Is it possible that I could beco…

But really a lot of women can and probably do pull this off. A lot of guys don't know this, or refuse to believe it. Showing examples like this helps new redpillers overcome pedestalization.

You guys like Schopenhauer, and he said "hope is the confusion of the desire for a thing with the probability of it." Even if 1 in a million girls is a unicorn, math says it's not worth the risk of treating her like an actual person.
/r/TheRedPill13/05/14 11:57 PM

Same with porn/masturbation. If a dude wants to jerk off to replace the expensive and endlessly tedious process of having a girlfriend, so what? I guess there's a bias here because TRP is supposedly for "sexual strategy," but personally I don't think that not having sex is a bad thing. If you're still basing your self-worth on how many girls you bang, you're still plugged in.

*10 thirsty betas make inane comments I see girls on their phones all day long between texting, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Vine, etc. I would not be surprised if this 24/7 "social" interaction actually harms their brain chemistry in some way. It's definitely abnormal.

Or is it every man for himself, don't worry about who you hurt? Yes it is. Now, I take it you're suggesting that by treating all women as sluts, we encourage them to be sluts. The potential unicorns out there see that they'll be treated like whores anyway, and TRP's view of women becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Instead we should be slut-shaming and nurturing future unicorns, and eventually we'll be back in the 1950's and all be happy. That just isn't realistic. The battle is already lost, an…

Agreed.... trying to look like a male model is not a reasonable goal. And OP was also extremely optimistic with the times he gave... from personal experience, it took me ~6 months to go from mildly obese to looking like the first example pic, and after ~9 months since then I'm maybe halfway from pic 1 to pic 2. There is no way in hell that a normal person could go from pic 1 to pic 3 in 1 or 2 years without it literally being your job plus copious amounts of steroids.
/r/TheRedPill10/05/14 03:17 AM

The last example guy is almost certainly a model or something, meaning he gets paid to work out all day. Unless you also have a job where your salary = your looks, looking like guy 3 isn't a reasonable goal. You have other things going on in your life that take priority over lifting many hours per day.

I'm pretty sure /r/atheism was one of the original subreddits, so that's how it got to be a default. As a man, I see it doing a lot of harm in the world and providing me no benefit. Cons for feminism: Feminism strives to eliminate personal responsibility and blame everything on "society".... since I'm a straight, white male, I apparently control "society" and am to blame for anything that ever goes wrong. Feminism has generally fucked up the economy by doubling the workforce and makes it harder for me to get into law school and get a good job. Feminism has made it nigh impossible to find a girl…

I experience the same thing, and I'd say it's normal. It's tough to admit, but our attraction to women goes way beyond sex... we want the One, the perfect best friend and life partner that everyone says we'll eventually find. It actually looks more like a place for chicks to ask questions about birth control and seek validation when a store clerk is "rude" to them or someone trolls their half nude Instagram pics. I'm more concerned with the message it sends. By defaulting a gendered subreddit for women but not men, the admins are coming out and officially endorsing enforced inequality.

I just had to delete some comments I made in that "what it's like being an unattractive woman" bestof thread after they immediately got ~20 downvotes, and I also saw commenters there using "redpill" as a derogatory slur and belittling the guy who made a similar post earlier today. Same old white knight / feminazi bullshit from weak and petty people. "Rape" rhetoric has made approaching girls impossible for a lot of guys. It's no problem for the "bad boys," thugs, addicts, and other impulsive, risk-taking personalities that are generally alphas, but everyone else is stuck waiting for that magical "Yes." But of course that "Yes" is never going to come because women like being taken and dominated.

I've also noticed that with some other liberal outlets like the Atlantic... the whole point is to get page views for ad revenue, so occasionally stirring the pot and outraging the audience makes them money. Then they go back to their usual business model: telling the audience what it wants to hear.

I'm a philosophy major, and I constantly receive emails from the department advertising scholarships and conferences and such. Wow, Slate published a semi-reasonable article. This doesn't surprise me at all. Sure, I'd guess women are raped more than men, but the insane statistics feminists like to use (e.g., that common claim that 1/4 of women get raped) are absolutely false. They either just plain fabricate these statistics or twist the definition of "rape" to include anything a guy does that makes a girl "uncomfortable." But then if you use the same definition of "rape" for both men and women, the numbers even out aga…

I've largely stopped interacting with girls at mine. A college age girl has nothing to offer except sex, and I'm not some male model, so there's always a chance she'll regret it and claim I raped her. That's not a risk I'm willing to take. With the way things are going, if you have sex with a girl who is equal to or more attractive than you, you're literally risking your life, since there's some chance that you'll spend the rest of your life in prison just because she changed her mind about you.…

Women's natural instinct is to blame others for their shortcomings. That's the basis of feminism: "I didn't get the job, therefore there must be a vast patriarchal conspiracy against me. I don't think socialism and red pill philosophy are very compatible. Socialism implies relying on other people and surrendering your earnings based on some "greater good" ideology that's handed down to you from upon high. In contrast, most of us are individualists, don't want help from others, don't want to help them, and are naturally skeptical of official ideology like the leftist/feminist nonsense the schools try to indoctrinate us with.
