I'm in Michigan. The laws on that is as long as one person who is doing the recording is also on the recording and knows there is a recording, it's legal.

Yes a little, but I’m also going to the gym and have def lost weight and gain muscle. I think I’m doing a great job! 😃. I just don’t want to date anyone with a mommy pouch.

Document everything. And gtfo. She sounds like a narcissist and wants to control everything. What a nightmare.

I served her paperwork. Before that I tried for 1.5 years to date me. 10 months to respect me and a few months after I got so tired of it. I planned my way out and mediation is next month. It’s not worth the fights. Just better yourself and work on yourself. Give her what she wants immediately with haste and eagerness. She’ll find it suspicious and may want to turn the other way around. Some women just want to see if you’d fight. Once you’re willing to walk away and drop the glass of water that …

Get the best lawyer you can! She wants to screw you hard! Don’t pick the first lawyer you see. Feel around which is best for you. They charge for every call, email and visit you make. Don’t get screwed.
/r/Divorce_Men09/02/26 12:01 AM

OP, find a trail lawyer. Go to all lawyers in the area and have a consultation with all the good ones, pay for the consults… go into debt so she’ll have to split the debt with you… and doing that, she’ll have to choose a crappy lawyer because the good ones already had a meeting with you.

I read your other posts. It seems like she wants you for only a small benefit, but doesn’t want to try anything else. If she wants to blow up and have you fearful. Where are you from? It seems like not the traditional Muslim marriage that I am used to seeing. What is your ethnic background?

Don’t let fear be your guide. As long as you’re not abusive in anyway, which it sounds like you’re not, I believe your estranged wife has no right. But you need to talk to a lawyer and act defensively only, document everything. Record as much as you can… please man, it’s not worth your mental health. Don’t stay for your child, leave for your child.

I’m sorry you have to deal with this. Get a GOOD lawyer! Document everything she says and record what she does! Is she a good mother when you’re at work? Do your parents help? It’s good to have witnesses to her behavior. Is the house in your name or both? She wants to be a kid herself. I’m not a doctor but it sounds like she flipped a switch, is depressed, or may be bipolar. Once you get a lawyer and after the documentation is done, I bet she’ll panic. ALOT

You're justified, my guy. 🙏🏼 Do not do anything rash. I would be angry to. A dog's love is incomparable. Idk what you could do legally but I’d talk to a lawyer. Your past in hospitals may work against you with credibility here but maybe not. You can possibly sue the other vet saying it wasn’t her decision but idk. I’d divorce her and move on. She seems like a horrible person.

If your STBX said she was positive for something, and you two haven’t had sex in a year, I’m sure you would get a test asap

Before serving her, I told my wife I was unhappy and we needed to see a marriage counselor. She said we didn’t, I wasn’t unhappy, and dropped it. I told her why, she just giggled and said we are fine and that’s the end of it. This happened twice… I served her and she was completely “blind sided.” Mediation is in March

Ever since I gave papers in September, I’ve been hitting the gym every day, soon to be ex has been getting FATTTT. She doesn’t drink alcohol or smoke or do drugs thank god. But I’ve lost 10 lbs and I’m loving it.

I’m one who really wants love and connection. Sure I haven’t had sex since Father’s Day (STBX) and before that was my birthday in December 2024 (STBX), never cheated, But I am more attracted to someone I have a connection with. I know sex is so much better than my hand but I rather spend money on a future love not a 1 hr booty call

Bro. I had this for the last two years of my marriage. I filed for divorce. It’s exhausting to continuously wanting to feel desirable after all you do. She said she’d try harder. But you may need to go to couples counseling. Don’t throw away 20 years. Maybe she has a hormonal imbalance. My wife didn’t want to get any help. And I fell out of love with the person she turned into. We are both 33 years old. Have you thought about menopause? Around your wife’s age is pretty common. Maybe go on a vaca…

I don’t encourage her cheating on her “bf” but if it’s not you, itit will be someone else. Must not be super serious about him. Could be just a fling.

Tell her you’ll have the kids 60/40 and she’s paying child support, and if she wants the divorce, she can find a place to live.

Brother, im in the same boat. I'm still living with my STBX, We are civil for the most part but she is just helicopter parenting our son while I worked my ass off trying to provide. She has unchecked mental health issues that she refuses to get help for because she thinks she's fine. She also spends money when I tell her to stop buying useless crap. She was almost scammed as well and almost lost all our money. She comes from a family of man hating feminists, when I met her, she wasn't always lik…

Breathe. I don’t get angry much anymore. I’m on antidepressants. 20mg. And they help a lot. Don’t blow up. Process. And float. I’ve been trying to stay calm and I’m 1 month post serving my STBX and my calmness is driving her insane. She doesn’t have anything against me.

Question, this will be me in a few months. Have you ever thought of asking your ex to stay over and help you for a bit? Is that the worst thing ever?

Don’t stay for the child. You’ll be miserable

I’m sorry bro. But look. Sounds like you don’t have kids. So… go out there, get your life together. She’s a cheater. And imagine the other guy is gonna find this out. Go out there, work on yourself, get the medication you need. Go to the gym. Find someone else. Do you have a good job? A car? Your arms and legs?
/r/Divorce_Men10/10/25 01:38 AM

Why is that a bad thing? Yes I still do want to sign papers. I’m not gonna be a dick about this. There is no where else to sleep. And she’s ok with it

I talked about it before that I was thinking it. I have a theory, I think she probably thought I was bluffing to get her to change.

She wanted an excuse to do that to you. Porn is such a cop out reason. So petty.
/r/Divorce_Men08/10/25 03:51 PM

Is she that bad with money? Don’t give her a cent or have it in writing that it counts as child support towards next month.

Hey man. I was like you in july. I filed, then was so scared of what was to come and being lonely. But you know this needs to happen. FILE FIRST!!! Once you've done it, it will feel great and she gets served, best feeling. You deserve self respect, you're afraid to be a lone. But you don't have kids, that's the best part. You can do this.

My STBX was served two days ago. I care for her because she's my son's mother and I want the best for her. She is very bitter and mad about the situation but she needs to process this situation, hopefully she comes to her senses

I’m in the same boat. I’m divorcing my wife after being together for 10 years, married for 6. She is solely involved with my 3 year old son, no sex, no passion, no date nights for 1.5 years. Some women stop caring and loving for some weird reason. I’m never marrying a white woman ever again
/r/Divorce_Men15/09/25 01:31 AM
1

Buy you out of both?? That could be a great start. She really wants you out. That’s really weird. Such a 180. I’m sorry bro. But since you both have jobs, maybe you won’t have to pay. Child support and can buy a place to live and make a new life. Make something new. Maybe she’ll come to her senses and regret it all.

Does she have a job? Do you have Job? Are both of your names on the house?
/r/Divorce_Men15/09/25 01:14 AM
1

Go to a lawyer now and see your options. If your name is on the house, you don’t need to leave, unless the state says so. Fight for your kids, I think she loves someone else you don’t know about. But don’t stay together for your kids. Once you see your options, fight fight fight. This isn’t your fault, you did everything right. Sometimes hormones can play a huge factor in a woman’s decision making and it can be self destructive. Whatever happens, work on yourself and try to get the best deal.

Find dirt on her. There’s always something
/r/Divorce_Men14/09/25 08:54 AM

Yes. But she’s changed too much. We had matching sexual chemistry. we were best friends, always talked, always watched the same anime and invested time in new ones. It wasn’t until my son was 2 when he had her full attention. And now I have to “date” her on her terms. She always wants to be close by so he Doesnt freak out that she’s not around. Is really frustrating. She also doesn’t want to get him properly diagnosed for autism and treated because, “he’ll be very uncomfortable”

I honestly tried to find another mate but then decided I was not helping our marriage at all. She did give me permission but I can’t put myself out there without someone I knew finding about it. I decided against it and wanted to get her help with her lack of labido, didn’t work and with some other issues later, I’m now filing for divorce. I can’t wait to find someone to connect to and have fun with in All ways

My wife is the opposite. Swang a bit in 20s, but now she doesn’t want to do it all. Last sex was Father’s Day. Now divorcing. She’s not cheating either, trust me, I know
/r/Divorce_Men01/09/25 05:50 PM

This is why sex after marriage is hard. Everyone needs to experiment before getting married. Even swinging to get it out of your system. I know is weird but that’s what your 20s are for!
/r/Divorce_Men31/08/25 01:17 AM

Don’t do it. She’s dumb. Let her suffer. Wash your hands of this
/r/Divorce_Men22/08/25 12:32 PM

She said I could've had sex on the side and find a side chick. But I never did. I don't want her to have that against me when I file for divorce after I get a new job.

This is heart Breaking to read. I'm sorry you're going through this. Charge her child support and divorce her. She's made her choice.

Do you like him as a father figure?
/r/Divorce_Men06/07/25 02:28 PM

Stay tough there young man. I know it sucks. Did he adopt you? It's nothing to do with you at all. I'm sorry this type of stuff happens. Are you seeing a therapist? Your views on marriage may be confusing.

I would never abandon my son. I Love him too much and I will not repeat what my great grandfather did to my grandfather.

I'm not saying she's not a good mother, she def is... She's good with him, but doesn't give what she should.
/r/Divorce_Men30/06/25 06:07 PM

Not all. My coworker's ex reduced child support because he couldn't afford to support his son on this income
/r/Divorce_Men29/04/25 12:46 PM

Go to the judge and tell them you can't afford to pay child support and also support the kids yourself at your home. They may reduce it. Is your ex cut throat?

Lol my sister in law has been divorced twice. First time was against her, second time she left him but got married to him after knowing him for 2 months. She's a dumpster fire.

I Think that flag can go both ways
/r/Divorce_Men24/04/25 11:41 AM

Sketchy. if I were you, I wouldn’t be surprised if she came back begging you to take her back.. it sounds like it’s too convenient for him to be doing this and the fact that she was that easy. I think he’s gonna flip her and def screw her over somehow. Is the divorce finalized?
/r/Divorce_Men22/04/25 10:08 PM
2

I think it's deeper than that. How long ago did she meet him
/r/Divorce_Men22/04/25 09:59 PM

Something is def weird about this. If she's willing to go to that length, I think that other guy is involved somehow.
/r/Divorce_Men22/04/25 09:53 PM

Brah she'll find out she made a big mistake!! And hopefully she'll be cooperative. Good luck to you man

That's unfortunate
/r/Divorce_Men21/04/25 12:24 PM

I think it depends on the judge. If mother seems remotely competent, female judges may rule in their favor regardless.

The laywer said that too but if she has a house in her name, that has to count for something
/r/Divorce_Men12/04/25 11:45 PM

My wife also has a house in her name that her mom is paying for. Could that help me in anyway? They bought it in wife's name before getting married

Try to be civil and mature About it. Make sure you have a good lawyer. Work on yourself. And maybe you'll eventually get back together if you want to. But, let her go. Be the best dad and grow from this.

So you can't bring anyone home, but the bills are paid and you don’t need to pay child support. It’s a catch 22 until you find someone that’s worth moving on..
/r/Divorce_Men30/03/25 10:01 PM
11

Leave her. She doesn't like your son. She Gone.
/r/Divorce_Men28/03/25 10:39 PM
3

No. Not at all. Unless you find a woman who works her ass off too and brings in money. Split the bills but don't combine accounts. Wants no (more) kids. IMO, that is the best case scenario. Also don't Marry after knowing someone for 4 months. My friend did that against my suggestion and now they are divorcing after being married for 4 mo.
/r/Divorce_Men28/03/25 05:02 PM

Leave her. It's going to happen again. You married to early and she may not have been done experimenting. move on to a woman who loves you
/r/Divorce_Men23/03/25 05:00 PM

At least you're not paying for that
/r/Divorce_Men22/03/25 02:14 PM

Fight for your sons, she's obviously gone off the deep end. Let her move to Peru. This guy she met might be a horrible person trying to scam her or sell her to sex trafficking. TELL HER TO BE CAREFUL

What does your ex think about your progress and new gf?
/r/Divorce_Men20/03/25 10:57 AM

Take her off the plan?

I don't fear her at all. I just don't want her to take all my shit from my house when I'm gone at work

Damn. Why are ladies like this? They divorce you then ruin you.

/r/Divorce_Men18/03/25 01:31 AM

The best thing, I have access to all my credit cards and check bank account weekly. I pay all the bills. She just uses her debit card.
/r/Divorce_Men17/03/25 11:49 PM

Not one bit. We haven't faught because I just don't care to answer her nagging. So she thinks we're fine.

What is STBX?
/r/Divorce_Men15/11/24 01:27 PM

Grant her the divorce and then move on. If you have kids it's going to be hard. I'm not sure what good terms means. I guess it probably means no hard feelings? But just move on. Find someone new and also try to work on yourself the best way that you can, whether that's mental and/or physical, and make her regret divorcing you.
