'We do imagine. Every time we leave the house/meet a male. We already imagine. Apart from its not imagination, its statistics-based fear.' Couldn’t have said it any better, this behavior is indicative of not just the individual mindsets of the males jumping on the trend, but the culture that created it in the first place. In the gift of fear De Becker talks about how if a man warns ‘I’m not going to hurt you’ that’s an indicator that hurting you has crossed his mind, it’s a warning. Same goes fo…

If you still have to get up early I recommend SleepCycle, it’s an alarm app that wakes you up in a light sleep phase (it listens to you while you sleep, full disclosure) so you never have that horrible dead feeling when you wake up. It’s a paid app but it always helps me get up for those gruelling early af mornings.

I’m so glad to hear you’re out of that life and doing well, and managed to leave with minimal trauma. You’re clearly a badass and your story is so important, so many women were dragged into sex work by their male partners it’s yet another thing we have to vet for and warn the next generation of young women who don’t know their Machiavellian ways. You beat the odds and now you’re passing your hard-earned wisdom onto other women who need it, that’s so impressive 💜

The thought of having children when we have to contend with men displaying this level of entitlement over our bodies is nauseating and terrifying. I’m actually sickened by this. Who in the hell does this little scumbag think he is putting a teenage girl through carrying his baby, a caesarean which is major surgery, then immediately trying to get back into using her body like he never did all that to her?! It’s evil.

I have fertility issues which I found out about when I was 22, so for a while I entertained the notion of being with a single dad because it’s likely I can’t have my own kids. I’ve since abandoned that idea because the only single dad I actually dated was a whole MESS. 🚩Had his kid at 20, irresponsible and couldn’t provide for him = poor future planning 🚩Prioritised dating over getting his shit together for his son (was living in a shared house with childless friends) 🚩Told me he “hated phones”.…

Do we have a term for the way men often get suddenly abusive immediately after marriage or childbirth? Maybe if we give that tendency a name we can get them to stop it

Whoever raised this poor girl let her down, her self esteem is clearly on the floor. “It turns me on when you cry” wtf even is that? Like, fuck off creep.

This first happened to me when I was 16, my best (male) friend of 2 years suddenly blew up at me out of nowhere, he said I used him and said misogynistic things like that I was being ‘hormonal’. Over the next few weeks I found out from various mutuals that his problem was actually that he’d realised he didn’t have a chance with me. Never be friends with straight males.

Maybe this is controversial but I’ve always thought there’s something off about men who do date pornstars, like they’re so committed to seeing sex as a commodity. The hypocrisy of consuming porn and disrespecting the women in it is also vile though.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
