I hope the women of your country are able to liberate themselves soon!

You get this stuff out of your head by removing yourself from those spaces and conversations and actively cultivating the kind of social circle and media you want to see. Literally all of my friends are in nice long term relationships. I drop people who do not treat the people around them well. I drop the people who continuously create drama through their own actions. I curate my internet feeds to be content I actually enjoy rather than scare mongering. You choose what goes into your head. It's …

People are much more prone to talking about the bad than the good. No one needs to go online to vent about their lovely stable home life. There are subs like r/optimistsunite for instance that have a lot of positive content, and those kinds of spaces would be good for your mental health, but the posts are rarely about nice couples / nice families living nice quiet lives. Its more about filtering out negative content and knowing that stuff is blowing up BECAUSE it's not actually the norm.

Life is doubt, we're all just plugging away trying to do the right thing minute to minute. You have to find your inner compass, do some self exploration and decide what you truly believe is right or wrong without manipulative, scared losers who need to gamify human interaction telling you what to believe.

Not who you asked but no, absolutely not. Everyone is trying to tell you that attraction isn't solely based on looks, and how much looks weigh in the balance varies a lot by person.

Most people, men and women, conservative and liberal, experiment with casual sex somewhere along the way. Often experimentation is how we learn about ourselves. Based on your answers here it sounds like you're not into casual sex and you're looking for a partner who is also not only not into that, but has never participated. That's gonna be tough outside extreme religious circles, which comes with it's own baggage. Even if you find someone who's never tried casual sex, there's no guarantee that …

This is such a redpill line. What basis do you leave for the hypothesis that women don't know what we want, besides a bunch of dumb bros saying it?

And also - mediocre men are worthy of respect, just as every person who's not an active piece of shit is worthy of respect. You don't have to find someone attractive to respect them.

You have to take "mediocre man" in the conext it was given here. To anyone who's not a redpiller, a mediocre man would be a redpilled man. A man who needs to uphold sexist stereotypes, doesn't carry his own mental load, thinks that contributing financially is all he needs to do to be an equal partner in the relationship, etc.

As a fat woman, ditch that 'friend' if she really was a bitch about you politely saying she's not your type. Ive never met someone IRL who had any problem with people having personal standards or a type. Anyone who's a reasonable adult will understand that and only be offended if it gets into hypocrisy (fat people who won't date other fat people, bonus points for being in denial that you yourself are fat) or name calling (which i do hear a LOT, when I was a pedestrian in Chicago some rando would…

Get into some kind of therapy or counseling. You need to slash and burn your entire view of people, sex and relationships and rebuild from the ground up. The fact that you judge women for promiscuity but also see nothing wrong with utilizing sex workers services says a lot. Women dont go for hypocrites who despise them, and trust me it oozes off men who think like this, even if they lie through their teeth. Learning how to value people as individuals is the first step.

I recently looked up my first boyfriend from when I was 18 (33 now) and realized that dude was... remarkably unattractive. He had a pig face. I was so attracted to him though because we liked all the same bands and writers and he made me laugh (cliche for a reason). I never even registered that he was an ugly dude. I was so horny for him for all these reasons that had nothing to do with what he looked like.

You know that in India women get gangraped on busses and no one is ever brought to justice, often the woman is actually shunned?
/r/MensRights04/07/19 04:11 PM

I think the issue here is really that in India the justice system is so fucked that abusers and rapists are almost never brought to justice, leading people to feel like they have to resort to vigilantism. India needs some feminism.

So much this. That emotional reaction makes sense, but the reality is that most women who get abortions already have children, and they're doing it because their resources are already maxed out.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/19 09:30 PM

I actually agree that a man should be able to consent or not consent to being a parent. The problem is that without a social safety net, you are setting up that child/woman for disaster. The current system in the US is set up in the best interest of the child without putting the financial burden on the taxpayer.

That's seriously just what a good haircut costs in some places. I uit coloring and learned how to cut my own hair for just this reason. Who is feminism oppressing and how? I keep asking this and no one ever answers
/r/MensRights22/08/18 01:22 PM

I disagree that holding true to the definition of feminism is gate keeping or antidemocratic. I would also disagree that feminists don't reference mens rights, misandry or female chauvinism. Certainly man hating asshats who dont understand the meaning of the word and movement dont, but my experience is that most of them dont actually participate in any feminist circles or discussions, just post hate speech on the internet like female incels.
/r/MensRights22/08/18 01:17 PM
-2

Fewer and fewer people understand what feminism is, partially because the smear campaign is strong, but also because so many have used the term inappropriately in anger. There are definitely a lot of hateful women out there who dont think much of men and have tried to use the term to justify their shitty attitudes. That's why these discussions and pushing the actual definition is important. What about patriarchy theory do you take issue with?
/r/MensRights22/08/18 01:12 PM

Um what a strange argument, that's not the definition of a razor blade and never would be. That's more like how asshats are trying to redefine feminism into misandry.

I think that that's actually a very good litmus test over whether someone is actually a feminist or not, all the feminists I talk to are horrified by that gender based issue. It's a result of the patriarchy though... the idea that sex is always good for a dude, even when it's actually rape of a boy, is a result of patriarchy.

No no, angry people (of both genders) who struggle with critical thinking and introspection appropriate the term for their own agenda. Feminism has a definition and it's about equality. It's a type of egalitarianism that seeks to highlight disparities based on gender. Women definitely get a message that men all have the potential to be predators. But what I was thinking is the message to women not to entice the predators. It's all the same sexist garbage. The idea that men can't help themselves is one feminism has desperately sought to undermine.

Most of us can manage our emotions to a certain extent, and while rejection can certainly sting, it should not be something that affects you as deeply as it seems to affect so many people here. Therapy.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/18 07:34 PM
1

I disagree there - to a certain extent you absolutely can control how things affect you. If hurt from not being wanted is an issue, then that's what therapy is for. A good therapist helps you work through all your background issues that make you feel hurt by something like that and develop strategies to deal with it and minimize the impact going forward. It is not normal or necessary to be so hurt by not being wanted that you develop a chip on your shoulder against half the population.

I think what you're not seeing is that everyone takes shit from someone about all of this. We all just experience our own point of view. Lots and lots of people, both genders, are hypocritical and should just be ignored.

I've never known a feminist who's actually into the philosophy, the debate and rhetoric and activism, to say anything like "hahaha male tears," and I went to a liberal as fuck art school so I knew quite a few of them. Right? Unless the sandwich vendor got in my face and was like, "WHORE WHY DON'T YOU LIKE SANDWICHES!" when all I said was, "I feel like pizza today." If that happened, I would probably develop an aversion to sandwiches - at least his sandwiches. I feel like this is still gonna go over some heads.

Dude, as I pointed out multiple times here, her comments to women can be viewed as just as sexist and condescending. The trope that women catfight and cant support each other is very tired. My argument here is that we should take everything she said with a grain of salt and probably not actively try to cast it in the worst interpretation possible, because it's a stupid commencement address and I think all of you are scrounging for something to be offended about.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/18 03:12 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/18 03:04 PM

No shit. But people and their feelings, just like sandwiches, can't expect everyone to be into them, especially not all the time. People do have preferences and all of us have to be adults and manage our feelings and know that just because we're not this persons pizza, it's ok and not a reason to be hurt.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/18 02:30 PM

Dude, that is such an insane logic jump! That's the same as saying: I like pizza, sandwiches are not pizza, therefore I do not like sandwiches, therefore fuck them. That's not how this works. Saying you have a preference for something is not saying that everything that isnt that thing is terrible. Just because pizza is my favorite doesnt mean fuck sandwiches.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/18 01:53 PM
9

For sure! That's exactly what I'm saying - so why do so many men see some women saying they like tall men as all women casting aspersions on all men under 6 ft? I dont get it.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/18 12:09 PM

Dude men are just as picky, if not more so! The overwhelming majority of men's profiles in online dating state some kind of physical preference, even if its coded as 'active.' Its not a double standard, it's just how people are. Theres no "allowed" about it. And yes, using those clues to weed out people who are incompatible is a good idea. No one should waste their time with people who are looking for something you cant offer. Rejoice in the fact that they're putting I out there and you're findi…

Agreed. I'm a woman who's mostly friends with other women and none of us have ever, publicly or privately, said anything negative about short men. Even those of us who are mostly attracted to tall men (including myself) dont have a problem with short guys and have dated some. I've listened to plenty of dudes complain about fat women in a lot of different contexts though; everything from a friend in high school announcing to our English class that had never date a girl who's ribs he couldn't coun…

Women get shamed plenty when they outrightly state their shallowest preferences, just like men. Men just dont see it because it's not directed at them, just like I've never seen a dude get shamed for their shallow preferences. The only time you really hear the uproar if you're not the person its directed at is when it's really out there (since liking tall men and skinny women is pretty normal) - the people who have checklists for who they'll date. We dont all know the totality of others experien…

Recommending therapy for someone who clearly cannot separate their own shitty experiences from the reality of the world at large isnt a personal attack. Theres nothing wrong with therapy. I spent years in therapy after my mother broke her neck and became addicted to morphine. It's good for you.

Dude, I'm sorry but I just dont see how this fits into this narrative you're spinning. You're completely ignoring everything I've said just to repeat this bullshit about women and feminism oppressing men, and that 100% does not match my experience of reality. I'm sorry that you feel that is the world, I urge you to seek therapy.

First off, I asked a clearly rhetorical question, as I answered it in the next sentence. And I didn't disagree with you, of course people do shitty things like smearing others, but I do truly and honestly believe that that's the minority of the time, particularly in reference to sexual assault. I think the only useful thing she said was that advice is stupid. Commencement addresses are stupid, and they're always people on a soapbox or inflating their own ego. You should go back and pay particular attention to the whole sentence. Why would anyone be scared of a publication? Because it could expose a truth that someone who needs this advice doesnt want exposed. Treat every woman as if she could put you on blast the same way a reporter for a major publication can - because they could.

As a woman, I find that attitude about women who sleep with a man early on really difficult to understand! It takes two to tango yadda yadda. I've been with my current boyfriend off and on for about 8 years, and I think a big part of why it was off and on is because I slept with him on our first date. He admitted a lot later that he didnt like that. But he was the one escalating etc, and at the time I believed in going with your instincts (for the record, he was my 6th guy ever - and I've only a…

Hiya! For my two cents, I dont consider self described feminists who think the way you described real feminists - the reason they've become the face of the movement is just because they've scared away the non-crazies, and that makes me so sad. I hang on to the term and try to have this conversation whenever I can, and I hope more people who truly believe in equality work to take the word/movement back!

I'm a woman and while most of my friends would ask about a dude's job, I don't know many who care strongly about height, and I know none that would EVER ask about penis size. I've been with a guy who had a truly, genuinely tiny dick and it wasn't a big deal. The only place I've ever heard dick size discussed like a basic stat is reading craigslist ads. fair enough. I'm not picking on fat women or women over 30, those are just the complaints I hear. One thing that is brutal for women I believe, is that your intrinsically interesting once you hit puberty, and so you become acclimated to heightened attention. When that gets taken away, many women have not developed tools to deal with it. Agreed on the testosterone point, an adult male doesn't experience the same testosterone a teenage boy does, so there's no way a woman has experienced anything i…

Testosterone isn't in women's birth control, but the hormones that are in it do affect how women's bodies process the testosterone we produce (this is why birth control often affects women's sex drives, it messes up our testosterone), and can affect the hormonal balance for years after ceasing to take the medication. That's all I meant, that I deeply understand the effect that hormones have on a person's experience. I do not think that women should receive special consideration given the bleedin…

Hmm. I agree with some of your points and disagree with others. I agree that boys are being medicated disproportionately. I'm not sure I agree that it's because they're being held to the standards of girls - I knew girls growing up who were also unecesarily medicated. Just because girls are less likely to display the same behavior doesn't mean they should have a stricter standard - does that make sense? Tangibly - I'm equally aggressive as my male peers, but some people in my office (women, actu…

I agree that all women teachers isn't a good thing. I taught swim lessons for ten years and it was astonishing how many people didn't want their kids in our one male instructors class - people are bizarrely uncomfortable with men working with children. It's a huge bias that should be addressed. I'm curious, how would you distinguish the same standards from equivalent standards? I'd argue that a tolerance for aggression is good for both boys and girls (as a female who gets criticized at work for …

Totally agree. That's why I added that I don't know what 'aggression issues' means in this context - obviously I don't know this family. That phrase just leaves a foul taste in my mouth, same as people who excuse any amount of bad behavior in women just because they're women. Not a fan of any of that. We're all people and should be held to the same standards of age appropriate civilized conduct. Edited for typos

I'd agree that the educational system is deeply fucked. I just want to correct one point - whether girls get treated with privelage I'm these situations entirely depends on what combo of fucked up biases the people in authority have. When I was in grade school, two kids were bullying my friends and I every day. It escalated to the point that one friend of mine got their arm broken, and I nearly had my eye put out with a stick. Through the whole thing the principal kept saying 'boys will be boys' until my teacher pulled them into a broom closet and scared the shit out of them. I don't know what exactly these 'aggression issues' encompass, but when I hear a longing for 'boys will be boys' it sounds like a desire to excuse shit…

That's not what we were talking about though. You said you didn't want a 'cavernous cunt,' vaginas don't become cavernous from having many partners. Or even lots of sex, which are obviously very different things. It's elastic, more or less depending on your genetics. Simple as that.

I'm sorry that your single mother hurt her kids. But it's a simple logic flaw to then say that all single mothers hurt their kids. My mother was a single mother and leaving my father (who was miserable and abusive) made my life much more stable. She worked and I never met anyone she dated until the guy who ended up being my stepfather. He's a good guy and they treat each other much better than my parents ever did. Who says 2 parents makes a household stable? Who's to say a man or woman can't be a stable parent all by themselves? That's pretty judgemental, especially the presumption that just because someone is single they're parading conquests through their kids lives.
