I didn't meet a man who I knew didn't view porn until I was 45. And you can be sure I married him!!! Five years later, he still doesn't view porn, so it wasn't a front, but it was certainly a leap of faith for me initially. My ex was a porn sick, awful excuse for a human that I tried to prove I was worthy of being faithful to for 20 years too many. I'd rather be single that be with a man who used porn if it ever came to that again.

I’m so torn about dating apps. I met my HVH on one by some miracle. And the more I read FDS the more miraculous he seems to me tbh. I hated online dating, it felt like I would come home from a long, mentally taxing day at work, only to “work” online more to weed out guys and set up dates to meet. And then I’d have to mentally prepare so much for the “interview”... I was done, and my niece encouraged me to give it one more shot and the stars collided and whatever all that nonsense speak talks of.…

I was just recently diagnosed with an auto-immune disease and my PTSD from my ex wasn’t helping for awhile. I was so worried about being a burden I was not allowing myself to heal. My husband has put a stop to that. Mine is nowhere this debilitating even, but he calls and checks up on me during the day, runs for meds or the right foods when I can’t go myself. I’m re-learning how to eat and how to cook and I know he’s going to miss some favorites as much as I do, he’s willing to change his diet t…

As someone who is really only here to comment when I feel my experience transitioning from a LVX (20 years married) to a HV husband is relevant... and some of the dating years in between, I appreciate this. There are good men out there and I think vetting may be a little more useful as a passive process in some cases. Let them show you who they are. And believe them right away. My ex told me EXACTLY how he was going to treat me, in hindsight I chose to believe he’d love me enough to change. That…

I was 46 when I met my 43 yr old husband and we joke that I robbed the cradle. And 4 years later we’ll still joke about the “age gap”. Most people think HE is the older one which is somehow funnier to me. When I was dating, I did accept a date from a younger man, he was 9 years younger than my 45 years, he was a physicist, worked for NASA even, and at 36 yrs old... just didn’t have enough life experience (relationships especially) and I couldn’t see him as anything but a “kid”. There was no 2nd …

Considering you’re already dating, his bringing a bag with his necessaries wouldn’t be out of line. I did have to dump a guy who brought an overnight bag when I finally invited him over for a home cooked dinner (I love to cook). When he brought in his bag and I asked what was that? And he said he’d packed clothes... yeah, you’re not staying the night dude. AND there was never a next date. That being said, while my husband really doesn’t concern himself too much with clothes (unless we’re going o…

I was just so flabbergasted, but I’m sure my face said everything as I walked away. He didn’t even speak up to try to stop me, or maybe the blood was rushing so loud I didn’t hear anything. He didn’t try to contact me again either, so I was spared that ridiculousness at least. It really made me sad though. Then angry for awhile.

When I was still dating... found myself having lunch with a guy who not only lied about his age (he said he was 52... he was in his 60’s), he then informed me he was married but his wife was ill so he was looking for some side action. I walked out of the restaurant without another word....

I was married to a LVM for 20 years. He was military and deployed for a lot of that time so was easier to hope it would “be better next time he came home” until I had a couple years of therapy and realized I deserved better. Now I’m married to most amazing man who hits every point on your list (except we fix things together as I grew up more hands on with my carpenter dad, he handles the electronics he learned from his dad)... When I find myself venting to him about things, he once said “am I li…

I knew I’d be seeing this one here too. It boggles the mind how so many horrible men think they own that bit of skin we have cuz we let them access it occasionally. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to successfully boycott sex with LVMs around the world?

I’ve never been more grateful to have lived my teenage and early 20’s before the internet (and so very much depraved porn) existed.

The new Invisible Man was fantastic. It was triggering... but showed even rich, smart, handsome guys can be abusive LVM.

I remember having an ah-ha moment when I got older about how I suddenly stopped scratching his back. Add that I was adopted and by my mom’s younger husband and my dad is only 15 years older than I am. He is definitely a HVM.

I remember overhearing a friend of my dad’s say something to him about a girl my age in the neighborhood (maybe 15-16 at the time and she was way more developed than me) and my dad called him out telling him he was out of line, “that girl is the same age as my daughter!!” I’ve always been proud of him for that cuz neither of them knew I was right around the corner of the house and heard everything. I don’t remember who the guy was, evidence that my dad stopped hanging around with him after that.

This sub opens the curtains and lets the light into the smelly dank basements some of these lurkers reside in. They know they can’t measure up to the standards women are starting to set, and try to convince you that no other men out there measure up either. And they’re the best you can get. WRONG! I commented about how my hubs isn’t a user of porn, and how lucky I feel finding that rare breed, and not one woman posted a contradiction, but the men... hahaha. They just can’t believe they’re not th…

That’s why so very many women LOVE Outlander! Claire is one of the best, strongest, female leads ever written. And Jamie, his adoration of his wife makes him the sexiest man in literature.

We relocated to a state with a much lower COL about 9 yrs ago... Part of it is I was promoted from within from an entry level position (have nearly tripled my wages since I started so I’m not mad) and he’d been hired with the education and previous work experience in his managerial role. Others (male and female) who’ve been promoted from within also seem to make less than a new hire into the same role would cost... so a little about gender and little about just being frugal.

Oh I do get paid well... and great bennies and riding it out until I can retire in a couple years. It’s just very obvious to someone who sees payroll the gender gap.

I’ve been working in the same position for 10 years after my boss quit and I took over his responsibilities. To this day, 10 years later, I still earn $10k less a year than he did when he retired a decade ago.

You are not “intimidating” unless they’re INTIMIDATED! And they’re not of much value to anyone they don’t feel they can measure up to. One of my biggest brags is a guy telling me I was too intimidating to even meet on a blind date. The trash took itself out.

That I look young for my age. That’s great now at 50. When I was 25 looking like a 14 yr old.... NOT married to that guy anymore. Found out recently his 50+ yr old fat bald gross smelly ass, married a 23 yr old.... barf. Poor girl.

My favorite Cinderella movie is Ever After with Drew Barrymore. Angelica Houston is amazing as the evil stop mother!! She saves her damned self and then the prince shows up and is proud of her ‘grit’. I can watch that version over and over.

I spent 20+ years failing to prove I was worthy of being faithful to. Finally left his cheating ass and miraculously met a man who truly knows how to love his partner. I was a total pickme... it was starting therapy while I was still married to ex and realizing I DO have value as a person on my own and not just as his “wife”... that was the beginning of the end for him. He “accused me” of growing a “ramrod instead of a backbone”. Translation, you value yourself suddenly and I can’t get you to su…

Right before I met my husband OLD, I had a guy straight up tell my I was too intimidating to meet up with. (I’m former Marine, he was a civilian). While I found it a little depressing at the time... looking back I realized that I may have avoided a LOT of men with self confidence issues. I have to actually give credit that the guy knew he’d have issues with a confident, accomplished, secure woman and took himself out of the equation.

I have stopped hanging out with one female friend of mine who just only wanted to talk about sex... she was single and as far as I know not dating, but kept talking about past sexual experiences and wanting me to contribute my stories. I told her straight up I like my sex only with a man who loves me and since I’d met my hubs, it’s been wonderful and that’s all I have to say about that. Like I didn’t want to hear about her visit from the gas meter reader and her fantasy “session” after he left. …

I wonder if menopause has that same effect as going off hormonal contraceptives. Currently post menopausal, but divorced my cheating LVM ex probably as I was starting peri-menopause. Met my hubs now after that and 4 years into this relationship, sex life and attraction are still awesome even in menopause. I’ll admit I was a little nervous about that sexual energy disappearing when I went though that change, but turns out the right guy makes all the difference. LOL

I remember the initial online date meetup where he showed up on a bicycle... ya know, cuz having your license taken away for a DUI isn’t any sort of red flag or anything. Then on my way home from said “date”, saw dude getting off his bike at the liquor store down the road... this was a breakfast/coffee ‘date’ on a Sunday morning. And he had the audacity to be offended when I responded for a 2nd date request with a no thanks, I don’t think we’re compatible. LOL
