As a female engineer, every time I don't want to stick my hand up and ask for more money I have to kick myself and say this is why there's a wage gap.

Everytime I think I'm not qualified to apply for a position I remember that study that women will only apply if they match 90%+ of the requirements, whereas men will go at 60%. Gotta just ball it ladies till we get it all 🤙

I’ve been working in the same position for 10 years after my boss quit and I took over his responsibilities. To this day, 10 years later, I still earn $10k less a year than he did when he retired a decade ago.

I saw this in another subreddit. The amount of responses from men about this about how "the wage gap is a myth" and their resulting "reasoning" and gaslighting of the women who try to explain why it's not a myth is an exercise in "over-confidence of mediocre men" and "mansplaining". I mean, that one entire thread should be preserved for all time as the paradigm for mansplaining, truly.

I love this on so many levels. Obviously poking fun at wage-gap deniers, but also seems to be taking a dig at the stereotypes that doctor/engineer/CEO and the common practice of labeling a job title by gender when a woman happens to hold to role.
