Interesting, I appreciate the reply and how you counter rp beliefs.

Sounds reasonable. Women don't struggle as much as men though, don't you agree? They don't need as good social skills, be driven and have some sort of pursuit to be attractive, be particularly funny or impressive, which it seems from all the dating advice for men that I've seen (the kind that isn't red pill extremism) are very important to be an attractive man. For men, it's enough that a woman is healthy, reasonably pretty, and sane and has average social skills, right? She doesn't need to be d…

I'm in my early 30s but thanks for the recommendation anyway.

So are you saying that people with the same attachment style have good relationships?

The guy in the thread claimed that he used pictures of models on dating apps and put in red flags for being a sexist misogynist, and still got lots of interested women. He could be exaggerating but if not, is it possible that there are also many shallow, messed up women (and men too) out there?

What do you mean by attachment style? Do you mean attachment disorders, like avoidant, anxious etc?

Sounds reasonable.

You're right, saying that the answers are speculation was dumb. The black pill brainwashing keeps pulling me towards seeing every rebuttal as untrustworthy. So basically many of the attractive guys are simply good at making profiles, while many men puts in little effort into them? Do you think that womens fear of dangerous men also play into it? If men with good profiles are good at making themselves seem safe and sane?

I did read lots of comments but it sounded like pure speculation. I'm not saying that they were necessarily wrong though.

I started looking, does she debunk any of the evo-psych stuff? She only seems to make fun of it, but that's not debunking it.

I started to look at it but does she actually debunk anything? It seems like all she does is make fun of the arguably ridiculous and insulting evo-psych theories but doesn't actually debunk it using science.

If you haven't, look into Gabor Mate's "toxic culture" talks on Youtube, or his book that is named the same. He says, with data that seems good, that we live in a "toxic culture" that is completely unnatural and harmful to our health, both mental and physical, which is why mental illness rates are going up so quickly. I guess that's why I find evo-psych so depressing because they look at us from the perspective that this is as good as humanity can ever be, in this seemingly very broken state.

Why do you say that? I'm genuinely asking, I know nothing about evo-psych. Are you saying that because evo-psych assumes that what's sexist in modern societies is natural and works backwards from that assumption?

Yes, I asked my question in the evolution sub and was told that it's wrong, species are always evolving pretty much. I should've known better than to trust political commentators about these sorts of things, even if I agree with their politics.

I think that if most people would ditch their marriage if a super-attractive person hits on them contradicts you saying that relationships are generally a deep bond. Is it true that women lack empathy for men and generally feel disgusted by men who have low status, compared to the amount of empathy men feel for women in similar situations?

I see. Are women attracted to average guys when they are similar to themselves? Do you think romantic relationships/love always creates a shallow bond? Like if you loose something that made you initially attractive, be it status, looks, or an opportunity to trade up to a more attractive person, would most people bail because the bond is shallow?

How picky would you say humans are with choosing partners? Is it true as incels say that women are generally only attracted to men with above average attractiveness, be it status, looks, good personality etc?

I see, thanks for the reply. So what do you believe about human mating strategies? Is there some truth in some of the things that RP claim?

You're right, I was too impulsive with assuming this youtuber was correct, just because I trust their takes on things.

Reading some reviews, that book is about how marriage didn't have anything to do with love for most of humanity's existance? Could it be argued that it supports Red Pill's claim that love doesn't exist/is shallow and that people, both men and women, just want social status and power?

What matters for love is genetic quality. Your grandma and grandpa already proved their genetic quality to one another in their youth, so their aging and bad health due to it are accepted. They love each other because their instincts tells them they both have good genes, even though they are old and struggling today. They might also stick by each other because its expected in the culture, and not doing so would be social suicide. After all, a psychologist (an expert on the human mind!) says roma…

We could force ourselves to stay with a partner with any of those problems to follow some moral code, but we can't force ourselves to feel attracted to them and love them romantically still if our instincts makes us not feel that way.

What if someone lost their looks due to something outside of their control and their partner stopped feeling attracted to them? According to a psychologist physical attraction is crucial for romantic love (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/magnetic-partners/201311/the-role-physical-attraction-in-your-relationship) and I doubt whether the reasons are inside or outside of their control matters for our brains.

According to this psychologist, being physically attracted to one's partner is absolutely crucial for romantic love. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/magnetic-partners/201311/the-role-physical-attraction-in-your-relationship If you were banned for saying its important in r/incelexit the mods are in denial of reality.

Or maybe they're attracted by each others similarity? Especially if they have good self-esteem and don't feel ashamed about themselves lacking in looks.

Thanks for the long answer. Though my lack of experience makes that hard to judge for sure, my gut tells me that you're correct I think. Sounds like RedPillDetox, even if he's done a lot of amazing work here, still holds some problematic Red Pill-ish views then.
