I am literally so excited for you to start your new life once you leave him! Imagine all the stuff you can do once you don’t have this dead weight dragging you down! Like others have said, please give us an update. Proud of you 💛

I wish I could upvote this 100 times. I had a friend (who I cut out of my life recently) take advantage of my kindness for ages. She was super toxic and manipulative. I deeply regret spending so much time, energy, and money on such an underserving person. She left me feeling utterly drained 24/7, leaving me with nothing left to give the actual good people in my life & myself. My mental & physical health and other relationships suffered while I was “friends” with her. (Side note: she actually exh…

I’m a bit confused… when you say “which you seem to be falling back to repeatedly” you aren’t referring to ME, are you? Because I am definitely not a consequentialist lol and no where in my comment did I defend consequentialism. Perhaps I could have been more clear, but my point was that most people do not engage in ethics in this way, so telling women in general to look for a man who DOES engage with ethics this way is not helpful to the average woman. To use an extreme example: this is like te…

While I personally agree with you about dating an actual ethical man, this post just outlines how people in general think. It’s the human condition to just look at what the status quo is and roll with that. Philosophers as far back as Ancient Greece have lamented over the lack of critical thought in the average person lol. Both men and women are extremely inconsistent with their ethics and are ignorant of that fact. And if you bring it to their attention, they don’t care. Not out here to persona…

I know lots of people have said this already, but I just want to be another person confirming that it’s fine to just walk out. One time I was a on a date with a man who started YELLING at me! After he was finished yelling, I literally just said “I have to go” put my drink down and walked out without waiting for him to reply. I assume he took care of the bill lol. So yeah, I just upped and left. I would say that if you’re getting creeper/unsafe vibes from the guy then yes you should just up and l…

The reason it’s being recommended to you might not be as nefarious as you think (I say this as someone who loathes this platform). I get posts recommended to me based off what my fiancé looks at on Reddit. He thinks it’s because we share the same wifi network, because there is literally no reason for Reddit to think I want to see technical posts about coding or the cloud lmao. But this is the stuff my fiancé looks at. So if you have someone on your wifi network who is a teenager or would be inte…

I literally just finished listening and came straight to the sub to express HOW AMAZING THIS EPISODE WAS. I loved every single second of it and was sad when it was over. For real I could have listened for 5 hours. You amazing ladies asked questions that I personally would have asked Gail, and then some questions I hadn’t considered, which I think is sign of being great interviewers. Gail herself is also the ultimate queen, after writing this comment I’m going to go buy her book and look more int…

I’ve never heard of hammer toes and I honestly can’t tell what’s supposed to be “wrong” with your feet. I think feet are one of those things that people only notice when they’re gross (I.e dirty/smelly, long toenails, excessive callouses, etc), that’s how I am anyways. Maybe some people think some feet are prettier than others, but idk, to me it’s just pass/fail and yours pass!

Yeah, for real. I’m sure we all agree here that 100% of rapes are caused by rapists and NOT victims. We all agree that a woman can be wearing revealing clothing, be completely wasted, go back to a man’s house and it is still not her fault that she got raped. It’s the rapist’s fault. But I cannot understand how teaching women to protect themselves is “anti-feminist”. I WISH so fucking badly that women could go out and do whatever the hell they want without the fear of being raped. Obviously. But …

I 100% believe this. One time I was on a cruise and a guy I met said he had slept with 87 women in his life (He was very handsome and in great shape so I don’t think he was lying.) A few days later on the cruise he committed a sex crime by exposing himself to a woman that rejected him 🤮

Scrote: “I’m giving all my time and attention to get all of a girl and a random stranger on the internet can see her naked anyways for free.” Me: So you agree? You view women as commodities? Note that this dude didn’t say, “I wouldn’t want intimate photos of my gf on the internet because I want intimacy to just be between us.” Instead, he basically said: ”Why would I even bother spending my time and money on girl to see her naked when I can see her naked for free? Why would I spend a dime on her…

The only reason men think they “need” sex with a woman is because they are socialized to equate their entire self worth with having sex with women. We are just commodities for men to consume and the man with the most “conquests” is seen as the “winner” or is seen as someone with a high status. If a man can’t get a woman to agree to have sex with him, he sees it as deeply “unfair”. To a man, not having sex with women is like seeing everyone else around him eating beautiful, delicious desserts exc…

I know this because this happened to a friend of mine, unfortunately. She moved into her bf’s house, and her zero value ex bf apparently found out where she lived, and then broke in one night while her new bf was out of town. She locked herself in her bedroom and called the police, but because she said told the operator that he was her ex, they took HOURS to arrive. This gave the zero value ex plenty of time to terrorize her, trash the place, then leave long before the police arrived. Apparently…

If he does come back to harass/hurt you, make sure you call the police right away and tell them there is a man you don’t know banging on your door and threatening you. It’s extremely important that you lie on the phone and tell the operator that you are alone and that he’s a STRANGER who is threatening you. Sometimes the police will take longer (hours, even) if they think it’s a domestic issue. Whereas a strange man breaking in and threatening a woman (especially if you say you think he has a gu…

I literally say to my fiancé “Men are trash. Yes, every single one of them #yesallmen” at least once a day. And he doesn’t care because he agrees that most men are awful partners for women. He was actually the one to introduce me to this sub! He was like, “You should check this sub out, they also are anti-porn and think men are trash.” Anyway my point is that HVM aren’t offended by FDS because they know that the shit we talk here doesn’t apply to them

It terrifies me to think that this woman would have been me if I had stayed with my scrote ex shudders Did this gorgeous woman have NO ONE in her life to tell her to not marry this man?? Like what?? He obviously doesn’t have looks, personality, nor money (if he was rich he could have just bought these stupid legos on his own) so what is going on here?? What is the appeal?? At least when I was with my scrote ex people would occasionally mention how I was too good for him lol

Hi! 28 year old white woman here. Something that works well for me when I have to be around unpleasant people in general is that I try to adopt the mindset of a neutral third party observer. Like in nature documentaries, the narrator will describe terrible things like animals being eaten alive, but there is no judgment, no anger; there is just observance. Men will be sexist and awful, but unless there is something you can do about it, just move on. Also, don’t actively look for good qualities in…

100%!!! I remember when I dumped (escaped from) my abusive ex years ago...I had finally “woken up” and realized that I was being severely mistreated and left him. I was so angry and I was explaining to him exactly how he was abusive and shitty and he didn’t get it. He did not understand nor care to understand. To him, I was the cruel one for pointing out his cruelty. I desperately wanted him to recognize what he did and feel bad about it, but he was literally not capable of such a thing. LVM/NVM…

I can’t stand this “gorgeous woman who doesn’t know it” fetish that men seem to have. It’s so gross. Not only do men expect women to meet strict physical criteria in order to be attractive, but women also gotta meet that criteria in ignorance??? The only way a gorgeous woman wouldn’t know she’s traditionally beautiful is if she has a low self-esteem or body dysmorphia i.e. something scrotes love to prey upon. It’s much easier to manipulate & control a women who considers herself low value. Scrot…

Reminds me of some guy I knew in highschool who had an accidental baby with a girl he hooked up with one time. He was complaining how he couldn’t see his son very much, and that the courts were unfair to men. This guy was also an unemployed DRUG DEALER, but I’m sure that had nothing to do with his visitation rights being restricted lol

Men who don’t have compassion for animals (both their physical & mental well-being) is HUGE red flag. You don’t have to like animals to realize their suffering matters, just as I don’t care about random people on the street but I still think their well-being matters. And not wanting to put your pet in baggage is completely reasonable. It can be terrifying for an animal—they have no idea what’s going on and they are away from their family! Plus, IMO, if a means of travel isn’t good enough for hum…

If a dude told me that I would call the police to get him on some sort of watch list (but I totally understand why women who are in abusive relationships with men like this would put up with these comments.)

I totally relate to you when you say you’re mentally recovering. I had an awful ex boyfriend (granted, he probably wasn’t as terrible as your ex seems to be) and even though I rationally knew he was abusive trash and dumping him was for the best, it’s as you say: he had me in a mental prison. You don’t just escape from hell unscathed. But you will recover. It’s not fair that he put you through hell, but you will be so much stronger for it in the end. Maybe he deliberately told you those fucked u…

I don’t have kids, but plan to. This is something I think about, and part of the reason I hope I just have girls. My strategy would be to teach my son from day one that women are to respected and admired just as much as men. I would teach him about gender inequality as well as other social issues. Anytime we come across a harmful gender stereotype, I would have a conversation about it with him. And then once he’s old enough to have “the talk”, either me or my husband would educate him on the rea…

I don’t have an ex-husband, but I just have to say, the fact that your ex was not only was aroused by your cat’s nips 🤮 but also the fact that he felt like that was an okay thing to admit to?? He is so depraved he doesn’t even know to keep that a secret. It must have been so hard to give your cats away, I can’t even imagine giving my puppers away :( But it sounds like you made the right choice. I am so happy for you that you’ve escaped that relationship.

Yeah that must be it. It’s probably easier to just misrepresent us and attack us rather than face the truth. I wish I could tell this woman that she can leave her low value husband and she will be be happier for it.

I genuinely don’t understand how people come to these conclusions about FDS. We aren’t a bunch of lonely women who think we are perfect and will only settle for rich men. Like ffs, I’ve seen so many posts on here about taking care of yourself, being the best version of yourself, and making sure you have your OWN money. Plus I see plenty of women on here commenting about their HVM sooo that just goes to show that we don’t have impossible standards. I’m sick of women being demonized for knowing th…

That actually sounds like a living nightmare. I wouldn’t wish a relationship like that onto my worst enemy. This is why I hate these “jokes” about women being capable and men being children. They just validate men’s lazy behaviours that actually hurt women.

To me this just reads as a cry for help, but I guess it’s meant to be “funny” because people are liking it and reacting with the laughing face. She also has a small child with this man, so I can only imagine how hard it must be to raise a toddler AND a man-child. I came across this post of hers as I’m lying in bed because I have a stomach ache, and my fiancé starts doing the dishes on his own because he knows I’m not feeling well. (We have a 50/50 division of labour and the dishes are my chore).…

Fellow ADHDer here! I’m 28 and was only diagnosed 8 months ago. Because yup, many women who are neuroatypical are diagnosed later in life or never at all. My biggest struggle in the past with dating has been men gaslighting me easily because I have a poor working memory, especially in stressful situations. I think neuroatypical women are especially at risk for gaslighting. To combat this, I’ve learned to always trust how I feel. I may not always exactly remember what exact words were said to me/…

For me it's self-improvement and being the best woman I can be; it's not expecting a quality man to just land in your lap and be a wonderful partner if you don't also put the work in. In my personal opinion, this does involve maximizing femininity (being feminine let's your partner be masculine, which makes for a happy relationship) but it's also just being an all-around quality person (getting an education, having good social skills, being kind, etc). My bf definitely isn't a RP kind of guy...I…

I would just say that there are PLENTY of shitty men out there, and I'm sure you would think it's unreasonable for any given individual man to feel guilty just for being a man. So it would actually make more sense for you to say, "I feel bad about being human" but that is also silly, because YOU are not what other people choose to do. In addition, just because a thought crosses your mind, it doesn't make you a bad person. I'm sure most men have a passing thought about sleeping with another woman…
