Personal experience has taught me this. College (in hindsight) is when it became clear to me that men are expected to treat women like equals, except whenever women decide they'd rather be in their traditional roles because it benefits them more. Young, in this context, I'd say is anyone under 40 (millennials and Gen z). Older women are not very different, just less awful than younger women. I guess I would call it a sliding scale.
