Child Support in PA is after taxes. To my knowledge, PA has some calculation as to how much money is assigned by taking the take home income of both parties, mashing them together, then making the person who pays more pay an percentage of income based on the full take home. I'm explaining it wrong but the bottom line is, she gets that income tax free. I'm pretty upset you didn't just walk out.

over 25 years for me. "why are you so quiet?" "why don't you want to do anything?" Passed off as character trait in men (stoic or some such nonsense). I know PA child support from experience and can say it can be a bit much. You add up the amounts the parents make, figure out an amount based on some arbitrary calculation, and the support is taken from the non-custodial parent after taxes. If child support was about the kids, the amount would be taken out pretax, the custodial parent would get the amount, the non-custodial parent would have their taxable income reduced and not have to live in shitty apartments with very little hope of a future.
