Honestly, if you're familiar enough with the concept just get out there and start doing it. I touch almost everyone I talk to, whether it's asking the time, laughing at a joke or just saying excuse me. Go focus on just that until it becomes second nature, then focus on the next thing. No I mean shot down hard. I don't drink. So learning to get confident stone cold sober was a little difficult but if I can do it sober I'm sure you can do it with a few drinks in you.

I get it I used to be the same way. Maybe try to get blown out. Just shoot to get shot down. Be as ridiculous as you can be. It'll feel weird as fuck at first but it's a great way to get past that

I work in full time outside sales, ride sport bikes as a hobby, and I'm about to get back in the gym since my shoulder (hopefully, this time) is finally healed. I also take of a sick parent, but I own that shit and when it comes up in convo more often than not it scores me points rather than hindering me like I once thought it would.

Sober almost a decade here. It works the same way it does drunk. Walk up, say hi, semi cocky grin (at least that's how my smile usually gets described to me) and talk about ANYTHING. Props on quitting drinking bro, that shits tough, especially starting out. Also, don't hit on the girls in meetings. Yeah, they're usually super fucking easy, but they're usually super fucking crazy too. Ask me how I know. Stick with it though, and good for you.

The best way I've found to do this (and it works for me because I hating losing and not being able to put my money where my mouth is, hate it!) is to talk shit. Put yourself in the same situation again. Next time your out with your boys make another bet. "bet I'm k closing a girl in 20 minutes or drinks are on me).

Try it with older girls whenever you can, the approach has to be strong but if you can pull it off it works even better. As a kid who dated college girls in high school I can tell you lines like that land easier, plus i got tons of bonus points for "having the balls to walk up and talk too an older girl".

I had the same thing happen to me! I was behind this guy in Starbucks one day and I recognized him just by his voice. Turns out it was my favorite comedian T-Rex (look up "t-Rex spooby" on YouTube if you ever need a laugh). He gave me his number and put me on the guest list for four at the venue he was doing that weekend. We've kept in touch and go out and party after one of his shows every time he's in town.
