Just random expenses that come up, haircuts, clothing, food, and sure, medical expenses

And spent 11 months in mediation focused on just the parenting plan. Nah that's not me

No stiffing going on here. I've offered HER 60% of the assets, the house, for her to keep my name on the mortgage for over a year, let her keep her 10 year pension with the govt, plus me pay alimony and child support. She just won't accept. Keeps bringing up random stuff - most recent is she wants me to pay 2024 taxes for house that I haven't lived in since March 2023

My ex is doing this. Personally, I view this type of thinking as a sign of weak character.

Thanks. And some lessons I've had to learn the hard way. Asking for input here bc I know it's a bad idea, just need a sounding board as to why and appreciate the input. Thought marrying someone from a good family and with lots of brains and common sense would somehow minimize the likelihood of this kind of thing happening if/when shit hit the fan. It's just such a waste. I'll check these books out.

2-2-5-5

Maybe I had a wrong impression of what happens. Example--for the parenting agreement, my STBXW won't agree to our current 2-2-5-5 schedule bc she wants my days (M,T,W morning) bc she wants to be able to go out on Thursdays. I can't offer that bc it's not compatible with my work schedule. We've been doing our current schedule for 1 year. I imagined that during pre trial conference, a judge would help us "settle" this and make a call.

Just of out curiosity, did you get 50/50? And if so did you keep it? I don't know if I'd feel right about taking 50/50 but I sure as hell don't feel good about offering 60/40 and now she's trying to get more while waisting energy and money.

My lawyer says that bc her part time work still brings in low six figures, a judge wouldn't likely go for imputing income.

she put about $60k down for our first house and helped fund my retirement when I was in residency training. Maybe it's me being nice but I don't feel entitled to taking all of that $$ hence the 60/40 to correct for some of that equity current house agreed on FMV that is reasonable with what assessment estimates are. Yeah letting her keep house bc in district for kids school and I don't want to live in it anymore (shitty memories) her part time work frustrates me bc it makes the alimony payments …

But my atty says that bc her gross income is just about 100k then no judge will allow for projected income even though she's under employed

I have just under $200k in retirement all from years we've been married. She has about $400k in retirement but not all from when we were married (probably closer to 220k-250k but still figuring out how to agree on that). The house has about $75k in equity. Did my attorney impute an income for my wife? No just used current (2023) estimated income which is the lowest income she's had since I've known her.

I have an attorney on standby but haven't pulled the trigger on paying the retainer bc wife keeps asking for low key process which of course I'd love too. I've suggested a mediator and she's been unwilling to call them so far. She's saying this is a lot for her emotionally which I'm trying to respect but starting to feel like this isn't a good faith process the way things are unfolding. The other day she was saying stuff like "I'm the mother of your children" when I mentioned how I can't afford …
