This post is gild-worthy, thank you! I'd just like to add that my SO watches Dr. Phil and as much as I try to avoid being in the same room when that happens, some gets through. The tone of the audience is always as you said, "correcting" masculinity or even discouraging trying to be a good male role model as a father. Apart from his punchable face it's one of the main reasons I hate having to watch it.

I'd have to agree here, this thread has a hell of a lot of blown out of proportion complaints. Makes me think OP is not looking for men in the right places, or wants some mythical being that is somehow a manly alpha who can fuck hard but also wants equality and has perfectly vanilla/gentle tastes. Wasn't that was called "traditional"?
