You can shack up with a women but in some states, that becomes a common-law marriage. Divorce rules still apply and you'll still get screwed.

Yes, without a doubt. A true BFF. So much so I would marry her.

Get a gf, check. Who works hard and is family-oriented, check. Who owns her property, check. Retire early to a tropical island in the South Pacific. Checkmate.

I'm not surprised really. A woman's version of delete FB, hit the gym, lawyer up. Fixing any inadequacies to shore up her self esteem.

Well, I got all the blame for having a bad relationship. She rewrote history despite being wrong. I didn't do this, I didn't do that. Her whole family has taken her side of things. What to do? I just walked away from it all. Far away.

That is why I have a hard time hiring a lawyer (CA) for a divorce with alimony, no property claims. All I'll end up doing is paying tens of thousands of dollars for the same judgement.

I was kicked out last January. It's one of my mails that didn't get forwarded and I thought I went paperless with. All taken care of now. I went by the apartment and saw my mail there, opened. I was thinking about adding it to the list of illegal activities she has done over the last 8 months.

I married Miss Jekyll and I divorced the sinister and diabolical Mrs Hyde.

Judge Dread can make all the decrees he wants. Involuntary servitude to be bound by the state. I bow to no woman. I'm not her slave.

I refuse to pay spousal support to someone who worked as hard as I did and I paid my share during the marriage. She can support herself fine. Over means over.

That's crazy! What kind of justice is that? Basically the guy becomes a slave to his ex after the fact.

I would be careful about audio/video recording. Some states have "two party consent" wiretapping laws.
