Be concerned about her wanting ALL your financial info, she may be thinking you are hiding assets.

And.. she may try to get access to accounts in your name only to use them. Consider getting a PO Box, redirecting all mail to there, and changing ALL Passwords, adding 2FA and basically prepping for identity theft.

Why is she in a position to have access to your mail? Not saying it's right that she's doing it, but scumbags gonna scumbag. Get a P.O. box.

If it's your account and she's not on it, well yeah. Possibly illegal, but definitely a crossed boundary. She may be entitled to a portion of the account even if her name is not on it or the envelope but it's YOUR MAIL.

No idea the last time that a spouse was prosecuted successfully for opening the other spouses mail. My guess is that it almost never happens.

Forget about the crime thing. Be pragmatic and go paperless instead. Problem solved. Do the same with all your financial accounts, and anything else important you don't want her opening.

So after I filed for divorce and moved out, my exwife was accusing me of stealing her mail.

So I made phony letters making it look like they were supposed to be mailed to my work address, but instead got mistakenly sent to the house address. First letter made it look like I was trying to hide $285k from her, money that she's RIGHTFULLY ENTITLED TO!

The second letter made it sound like I had a family house in San Francisco that she was RIGHTFULLY ENTITLED TO THE EQUITY!

She contacted her lawyer about these letters. Her lawyer contacted my lawyer because these letters sounded fishy. I contacted my lawyer and gave him copies of the fake letters and let him know, "Yeah, I just wanted to know if she's been stealing my mail."

In the end, I got a big laugh. My lawyer got a big laugh. Her lawyer got a big laugh. Only one not laughing was her. Ah well, can't please everyone?
