That's one of the strange things about it and what drives a lot of people to just hide it from their partners. For most people the social stigma of the disease is worse than the symptoms.

How do you prove where you got it from considering the majority of people are undiagnosed and may have it for years before their first outbreak? I think that's the typical American knee-jerk response to litigate in all situations whether or not it makes sense.

Why did you guys start a new thread to discuss the same topic? Also it's funny that it's the exact same discussion but has less downvotes because everyone agrees with the OP's statement. Reddit is for discussion. A discussion involves bringing everyone to one place to talk about something. Just upvoting the headline you agree with and downvoting others is the reddit equivalent of a shouting match.

I think PU is something a lot of people with herpes would be interested in. If you have herpes, you're not as comfortable dating within your social circle (friends of friends, coworkers, etc...) because at some point you'll have to have a talk with them that, if things don't go right, might be shared with everyone you know. I understand that it's socially different while it may not be medically different. You can have type 1 herpes on your lips (most common) or genitals (becoming more common now that more kids aren't getting it on their lips as children).
