Have you considered therapy?

Jane, I can't tell if you're serious, so I will assume you popped into a men's sub solely to see who you can poke and how.

Oh I'm not. We crossed the rubicon the day she almost pulled the silver bullet method out of her back pocket. From that day forward, my focus has been on the kids and ensuring they get out of this as healthy as possible. I wish her no ill will, but I ceased explaining her behavior away, hiding her BPD from friends/family/the kids, and generally enabling her. Now, it's all business, and I'll be damned if I'm not going to get every piece of evidence that I can to use against her in ensuring I prot…

I've found that not engaging is the best way to not enable manipulation. Life is far simpler and easier. But the bodycam that runs all waking hours also helps.

I think this is not healthy for you. You guys are done, let her go. Take care of your kids and feel happy and stop thinking about her I feel like folks who chime in with "let her go" and things along these lines, don't read the context of the thread and are projecting their own experiences on why one might seek "intel" has to their litigation adversary. Oh well.

Oof. Not only does the subject fail to derive context from the conversation taking place here, but he also selectively lies by way of exclusion. We await...shall the subject finish the quote, or will he/she/it exit stage left?

It's strange that folks don't know what that word means.

A few have used the word "catfish". This implies they don't know the meaning of the word. Regardless to address questions/issues in order 1. No, it's useless in court. It's a means to ascertain intent. No court cares that she is on a dating app or openly admits in the profile that she has very recently had FWB and ONS; it's a means of gathering an understanding of where her head is, which indicates direction in upcoming mediation and, should it be necessary, trial. If my PI does it, he's gatheri…

They will have the opportunity to know every single piece of this litigation, including but not limited to information investigated and gathered by myself, my attorney, or my PI, as well as any and all information received via subpoena from her escort profiles, psychoanalysis, and manifestations of severe mental illness. Promised her I will never lie to my sons, and I will be sticking to that until the day I die.

Btw to give context for non-microdicks reading, I'm being literal as to "sex work". Home router logs show she's created a profile on a literal sex work site, not OF. I'm slowly sifting thru profiles to find and save it.

Divorce is a business and you can bet your microdick I'm going to leverage every goddamn angle I have to protect my kids from random hookups and her new "business" of sex work. Call it whatever you like I will absolutely positively use every tool I have to my advantage to ensure I have all the information I need for my attorney and court :)

Buy a bodycam. I picked up a boblov m7 two months ago after she almost pulled a silver bullet method on me. It goes on and is set to record all day. Cheap insurance.

I started seeing a therapist after she cheated on me 5 years ago. Half the damn sessions were centered on how to "handle" her. The other half, understanding how I crumbled into a codependent beta after she cheated. Should have left her then.

Unfortunately all true. I care not what she does; I only care that my sons aren't around her to see it. Not zero visitation. Just not being custodian. She's always longed to be a part-time parent anyway; incapable of doing it full time.

Thanks. Yeah she evidently in her present identity disturbance briefly switched off the "omg-i've-been-a-victim-of-a-narcissist-for-15-years" to "we can consciously uncouple and co-parent like gweneth paltrow". That lasted like 4 hours. She's back to her identity as a victim of a narcissistic husband position. I've found the best way to engage her is to not. I don't wish her ill will, but the complete "abandonment" that she feels manifests in her acting out like this. Whatever vision she had for…

Buy a Boblov M7 body camera and go back home. Hit record the moment you wake. Do not turn it off until you go to sleep. It records the whole day. I keep mine on my belt buckle and lift the shirt up over it if she's on the same floor as me. Bait her into articulating, evidently again, that she will file for protective order if you return. Congrats now you've leveled the field. And be the best damn dad you can be while your soon to be ex triggers left and right.

How was his time so far reduced and how was he kicked out? While I realize the family court system doesn't make sense, this especially doesn't make sense. Did she file false abuse claims against him or something?

My wife went off the rails in May, and asked for divorce in July. She has BPD, bipolar, and multiple physical ailments. She's unable to care for our kids, and if she was honest would admit that she wants only to be a part time mom. I will unavoidably have to seek full custody. Our boys are 8 and 10. Under no circumstances will I lie to my boys. Whenever we tell them, I will make clear to her and to them that this was not my choice and I wanted to keep our family together, and that I was willing …

We're not alone. In fact this appears to be more common than not. These divorce coaches and groups on FB appear to fan the flame. At best, they're taking emotionally vulnerable women and projecting their own experiences on to them in order to convince them we're narcs and everything we've done is abuse. At worst, these folks are encouraging filing of blatantly false complaints and accusations. I now wear a bodycam 24/7 to protect myself from a future attempt. I realize many might say just leave.…

Silver bullet method is accusing the man of abuse, either against the woman or kids. It's used as a mechanism to get an upper hand in divorce and custody proceedings.

This. Mine cheated 5 years ago, and just a couple weeks back almost got away with the silver bullet method. But the basically overnight transition from 15 years together-speak to being official and distanced...that sent me into some of the darkest depths of existence I had seen to date.

This. The even brief description of her behavior screams BPD. Which if true and if he's open to learning about it will send him on a wild journey into the land of absolute insanity, all the while realizing he was in fact the victim of BPD abuse and manipulation.

tbh I'm not sure I can even call my side of yesterday "arguing". I just kept reiterating you are not allowed in my office, do not enter. She kept trying to push it to other things and I kept saying "I'm not discussing anything else, do not go in my office". Anyway yeah, agreed. I got riled up and I shouldn't have. Going forward, all interactions are going to be recorded. Hopefully there won't be any as I've resolved to literally leave the room she's in if she enters.

It was a shot across the bow, letting her know I knew their tactics pushed by divorce coaches and communities. I also wanted to put in writing a pre-emptive implied fear that she could or would do it. Unwise? Maybe, maybe not. But moot at this point regardless

Great link thanks I've inquired with my attorney as to cameras in common areas. And I'm toying with literally wearing a body cam all day just to create a constant record and give no room for any more silver bullet attempts

At this point I think few women in general tell a married friend to work on it. The one exception I see are the quite religious types. The default is problems? Welp time to bounce, and oh btw you're an abusive narc

It's amazing to me how much overlap there is among those of us I'm this sub Mine has diagnosed BPD, bipolar 2, autism (she gamed this one), fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and....ADHD. she admitted to me several months back she takes the Adderall not for focus but for the appetite suppressant effects... And like the OP, does not parent and I do everything... There should be like a men's group for BPD abuse recovery...

Can you tell me the secret? How do you handle a BPD person? Yeah I don't get the abandonment stuff and how they handle it as well. I can sit and read books on it, I can rationally understand how their emotional brains were effectively stunted at 2-7 years old, but I don't get it while in action. I mean, you no doubt know the whole framework of how BPDs will push you away before you have the chance to push them away...still can't make sense to a normally adjusted person. To be honest, I'm not sur…

Thanks Yes it's a real thing. BPD has often been characterized as female NPD. Extremely similar, but not quite the same. Women openly mock men for being narcissists (despite not understanding that it's an actual diagnosis that requires professional evaluation). There are very specific presentations that need to be met and she meets a number of them. Men when faced with the behavior of the BPD either shut down, run away, or try to rationalize it as us having done something wrong and thereby attem…

If I could go back to Aug 31, 2023, the advice I'd give is prepare for the most life changing year yet; there is no specific action to take. Just sit tight, hold your boys close and push through. Aug 20 tells me we're soul mates, that she's loving her life then, loving the kids, loving how we're doing Aug 22 my father was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer Sep 2 went in for a colonoscopy Sep 7 they discovered they perforated the cecum while in October my business partners start attempting to su…

I didn't and don't get it. This time last year she was telling me how much she loved life, loved us, and wanted to renew our vows. Then my father was diagnosed, died in Nov, and my business went under as a result of my partners undermining my business. Plenty of triggers in that mix available for her, but the speed with which she turned on me...I still have whiplash.

Accurately portrays the main points of my current situation. Stack on top of it my father dying last Nov, my business and our income dying in march, and a wife with diagnosed BPD and Bipolar 2, and my codependent ass doing everything for her...and you've got yourself a recipe for mid life divorce. Now I'm suddenly a narcissist and she's a long time victim of narcissistic abuse, as pushed by the divorce coaching grifters.

Same. I'm very early in this process. No filing yet. But the quantity of women who are convinced their husband is an abusive narc is obscene. My BPD wife fits the same mold. She thinks she's financially abused, emotionally abused, etc....she hasn't worked since 2010....fundamental difference is I have operated as a single father...I do the house care, I take the kids places (she hasn't taken them anywhere on her own since 2020), I handle everything....and somehow I'm the abuser. She like most wo…

Pretty old video. One of the first videos to put the devastating effects of divorce and custody issues on my radar and want to avoid divorce at all costs.

I'm on the cusp of divorce in what will unavoidably be high conflict against an untreated BPD wife who also has bipolar, fibromyalgia, autism, and a litany of other issues. We have two boys that I have functionally been single father to. I do not look forward to any sort of this process as I know it will financially devastate both of us, and because the custody fight where I will have to seek full custody will likely be years long. It will be painful and every step of this process is going to be…

Basically same. My situation is complicated by the fact my wife has curently-untreated BPD but yeah, she effectively self identifies as a victim of narcissistic abuse. Codependent (as a result of betrayal trauma from 5 years ago when she cheated) yes, narc no. 15 years right down the shitter. Time to focus on my boys though. She can play the victim and absorb everything she can to convince her if it. Meanwhile I have and will continue to put my sons first and ensure I'm insulating them as much a…

Specific to the social media comments, the contrast between men and women on that front is insane. When it comes to relationships ending, there is a massive swath of females who had ended a relationship, anointed the partner as being a narcissist, and create entire courses, coaching and communities around facilitating women exiting, and squeezing the ex for everything she can. I have yet to see the equivalent in the men's space. In fact, the "grift" in the men's space leans heavily on self work,…
