-1	Refusing to Mate Guard - How My Dad Got My Mom I totally understand what this man is saying and I agree with it 100%. If the guy in the first example was indeed on a third date, it is his duty to mate guard and also effectively and aggressively. OP's mom saw this opportunity, of another man flirting with her, as a shit test for that dude and seeing if he would pass it (i.e.: protect me) or fail it (i.e.: walk away/tell me to make him stop by walking away with me).
